I was really iffy on starting The Secret History and was trudging along the first 70ish pages because each page was so dense and I wasn’t seeing the grasp I heard it had. Taking advantage of a hurricane wiping Houston out entirely I continued on and when they went to the house in the country I was hooked like a damn fish on a line. I’m well over page 200 now and I already know I need to reread it again just to fully grasp all the literary allusions and appreciate it entirely. Needed to gush on it and praying that it keeps this standard in the latter half.

The TBOSAS movie inspired me to reread the book and I just realised that throughout the whole book, Coriolanus is referred to as "Coriolanus" before it switches to "Snow" in the epilogue and that hurts a bit cause it confirms he's finally becoming the person we see in the OG trilogy🥲

I feel like the movie tried to parallel that scene in the book with Tigris since she calls him "Coryo" throughout the movie before calling him by his full name at the end...
