Are you saying that I’m unfair?
So I shared this meme on Facebook because it was so funny to me and relevant to what is happening right now as we are battling the COVID-19 situation. This scene was in the movie “Four Sisters and a Wedding” played by Toni Gongaza, Enchong Dee and Coney Reyes. A friend of mine, who happens to be my workmate commented that this meme is misleading and it’s so sad that a lot of people will think this is true. As a result, which makes our president look bad about it. She stated, that people should know that we have executive and legislative body functioning and that the president does not handle this.
I did not react nor reply to her comment to avoid exchanging arguments about our sentiments. We all have different political standpoints and I think we should respect each other’s point of view.
My main point is that the NBI Anti-Graft served a letter to Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto asking him to explain a possible violation of the Bayanihan Heal as One Act, in particular the mayor’s request to exempt tricycle drivers from the public transportation ban.
In March, Sotto ordered the limited deployment of tricycle in the city to serve all the front-line personnel, health workers and patients. This was prohibited under the enhanced community quarantine guidelines, which include the suspension of all public transport.
As for Vico, this initiative only shows the concern for our front-liners. What would be their means of transportation if public transportation is prohibited? How can you violate a law that hasn’t been enacted yet at the time that you’re supposed to have violated it? Remember, these people are ones who took care of our people. These are the modern heroes and I hope that after this global crisis, they will get the recognition they deserved.
Pimentel, who was on self-quarantine and who had gotten tested for coronavirus,
went to the Makati Medical Center (MMC) to accompany his wife who was supposed to
give birth to their child. On the day of his hospital visit, the result of his test
came back to him positive.
Makati hospital berates Sen. Pimentel for violating quarantine protocols
Makati Medical Center on Wednesday castigated Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III,
who tested positive for COVID-19, for visiting the hospital despite strict home
quarantine protocols.
The hospital management in a statement denounced Pimentel — who accompanied his
pregnant wife to the hospital — for unduly exposing health care workers to COVID-
19. It said the former Senate President added to the "burden" of the medical staff
responding to the coronavirus disease outbreak.
“He violated his home quarantine, exposed health workers to possible infection, and
therefore, to me, that is reckless and unacceptable,” Makati Medical Center Medical
Director Saturnino Javier told CNN Philippines’ News Night.
After several senators voluntary placed themselves on self-quarantine following
interaction with a resource person who later tested positive for COVID-19, Pimentel
said he hardly left his house since March 11 — but admitted to attending two
birthday parties, a meeting, and a Senate session.
