It is actually so important to me that Clark did not defeat Luthor. He stopped his current rampage, yes, and that is very important. But Luthor loses the moment the news article goes live.

He is defeated by Eve, who found a way to document all his shady bullshit despite understanding perfectly well what kind of danger she is in. He is defeated by Lois, who already knows Luthor is up to no good but spends the whole movie finding proof of it so she can publish it.

Clark didn't even know about basically any of that stuff before he saw it on the news. He did not defeat Luthor. He just bought Lois the time she needed to do it.

My dad has known and has always remembered that Owl City was the first music artist that I found and loved outside of my family's general music interests (I started listening to his music when I was around 10 years old and haven't stopped). Ever since I got my first phone at 15, whenever my dad is out in public and hears an Owl City song playing in a store (it's almost always Fireflies or Vanilla Twilight), he texts me to let me know and sometimes records an audio message of it if it's loud enough. Usually just something like "hey they're playing an Owl City song you like in Walmart."

(Fun fact, he actually went with me to see Owl City live a couple years ago. He doesn't even listen to Owl City.)

And it's not just with Owl City songs, though those are the most frequent. It's with any song that he knows I like, especially if it's one he also likes.

I've never known why he does this, beyond just his way of saying "hey, this thing you like is here and I remember that about you." It's always felt really sweet to me.
