Lapis gave his cheek a quick peck before she set her bags down and rushed up the stairs to freshen up. She contemplated switching into the baby blue lace piece her cousin sent her as a gag Valentine’s Day gift, but decided to pass for tonight. All she wanted was to relax in the gentle night lights of the city with Adrien-- nothing too explicit! 

Meanwhile, the front door closed softly by the familiar Luxray giving it a light shove. Regal gave a low, calm growl to welcome his trainer’s beloved Instinct leader. He eyed Spark with a piercing glare, but his attention would ultimately shift to the jumping shiny Sylveon padding his way into the foyer. 

Kit yipped happily before getting a running start to pounce the yellow giant. A mix of happy mewls and yaps mimicked innocent laughter from the Pokémon... That is until he was levitated out of Spark’s hold.  Grace floated in and gave a polite curtsy to Spark, but she would eventually move out of the way of the stairs to see Lapis running down in a simple black lace dress. 

“S-Sorry for taking so long. They haven’t bothered you to the point of annoyance have they?” Lapis giggled the the sight of their theatrical gasps. She could always trust them to get her sarcasm.  After slipping on her pair of red oxford heels, she grabbed her coat off the coat rack and slipped on her gloves. “So, where we off to, Adrien?”

“Sounds wonderful! I’ll lead the way then?” Lapis carefully took the flowers from Spark’s hand and began walking down the avenue to make it to her chateau safely. The way the city looked now would have never warranted her imagination to run wild about the teams that tried to overtake the world.

Seems like there were teams from every region... It made Lapis wonder how the future would end up. There were countless people who want the world for themselves... Only recently did she hear about her cousin’s adventure in Alola. The ideas of Ultra Wormholes scared her, but she’ll have to brave the new, developing world to keep it safe for her kid siblings, her brother, and her beloved Maman... Spark, Go, and the Lieutenant too!

Poor Lapis was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t realize she made it home already. She stopped and looked to Spark, giving him an apologetic stare.

“S-Sorry... I was thinking about stuff.” She fit the key in the lock, gave it a turn, and opened the door. She stepped to the side to let Spark in. “Make yourself at home okay?”

“I mean, I was… But I got all this new energy now.” Lapis let out a small chuckle as she nuzzled her cheek into the hand he used to brush her hair away.  As he released her figure, she almost whined to protest, but then she saw the flowers.  Her eyes went wide for a moment, but she would soon break out in a small fit of laughter. She hadn’t been given Gracidea flowers in a long time– this was certainly a nice change of pace. 

Before she accepted the flowers, Lapis reached up to cup Spark’s face. She slowly started leading him down so she could place a soft kiss on his lips.  Nothing too excessive, just a simple, chaste kiss. 

“Do you mind if I drop off my bags first? I’d love to get these flowers in some water too.” Lapis manage to say once she broke the kiss. She even decided to take her glasses off and placed them in her bag’s pocket. “I’m sure Kit, Regal, and Grace would love to see you too.”

Spark smiled, holding her hand to his cheek just for a moment before letting her go back he still had that love sick smile on his face. Arceus he loved her. How in the world did he get lucky enough to get a woman like Lapis?

“Sure love.”he nodded.

“lets go, and after we can hit u pa restaurant. Uncle gave me the recommendation and told me we don’t need anything like a reservation. Apparently dad took mom there when they were still dating.” he laughed a bit.

When Lapis would finally get off work, there would be Spark waiting for her. Not wearing his normal jacket, he looked a little dressed up actually. He just grinned, "I called Al, and he told me you had to work later than normal.. So I thought I'd come surprise ya." (you know who this is LOL~ youhavethatspark ~~~~~

Lapis was going about her duties as a professor’s aid. She helped grade papers, gave her input on certain classroom matters when asked, and locked up the lab for the day… To say she wasn’t tired was a complete lie. Perhaps after taking a quick shower, she’ll video call Spark. 

Yes, that was the plan until she saw him standing right in front of her! 

No words came out of her mouth, for she was far too stunned to see him. It would take a few more minutes until her brain finally registered the fact Spark was here to have that smile grow on her face. 

“Adrien!” She took a running start to tacking his giant frame in a little Lapis hug, “Oh my God! Y-You didn’t have to come all the way to Kalos! I wouldn’t have minded going back to Kanto!”

Ravenclaw: I hate this holiday.

Hufflepuff: Because you don’t have anyone to share it with?

Ravenclaw: No, because there’s chocolate everywhere and I can’t have it all. And there’s flowers everywhere and all that’s doing is increasing the amount of pollen in the air and making me sneeze.

Lapis voice: “Spinel is going to go over the moon... Opal got a little confession note!”

“Fantastic.” Lapis chuckled as she wiggled her way out of his embrace. She took a seat on a cleared off spot on his desk to get a good look at him.  He’s still as tall as he could be, doesn’t look like he’s been skipping meals much, and his complexion was pretty glossy, so he was getting the necessary hours of sleep. 

“Still Mister Perfect.” she commented in that matter-of-fact tone as she gave a quick nod afterwards. Lapis crossed her arms over her chest and crossed her legs-- never once breaking her gaze with Spark. “So, Spark of Instinct, anything new happening with you? It’s been a while since we last seen each other, after all!”

Lapis went into the room after Spark walked down the hallway. Whether or not Go was inside was a mystery to her... She couldn’t see him, but she called out a quick hello before she set down the incubator on Spark’s desk.  As she waited, she took the liberty to sit in his swivel chair, but the moment the door swung open, Lapis was on her feet. 

“Don’t worry about it, love.” she made her way over to him with a giddy pip to her step. Finally, she circled her arms around his waist, closed the space between them, and pressed her lips onto his cheek. The heels of her boots helped a bit in this endeavor, yes. 

Slowly, Lapis began to pull away so she could stare into Spark’s eyes. With that signature smile on her lips, she allowed a giggle to escape.

“I missed you, Adrien. You’ve been good while I was away, I hope?” she booped his nose, “You haven’t been overworking yourself, have you?”

Lapis blinked. It must be the telepathy that’s allowing her to understand Spark. Made more sense to call on a psychic type for help. Either way, Lapis shook her head and started to lead the way towards the lab. Just like before, she stayed quiet for the remainder of the walk but this time, the reason for her silence was because she hadn’t a clue what to say! 

Kit shook his head at the sight of his clueless trainer. He nuzzled her cheek before he jumped off her shoulder so he could walk along side the others. He hoped that giving his trainer some alone time would help clear her head. 

Absentmindedly, Lapis ended up walking through the lab doors and her subconscious made her walk the route to Spark’s main office. She waited at the door for a moment: 

“Is it locked? I don’t want to go barging in.”

Kit yipped when he noticed Spark starting to transform. Lapis nodded at the sound of Kit’s demanding ‘Slyveon!’ and quickly took the incubator so it would drop, just in case.

Lapis watched as the Instinct Leader took down to all fours and turn into a larger than average Jolteon. So the rumors were true after all... Never before had she seen the transformation with her own two eyes, but seeing is believing.

“U-Um..?? Adrien? You in there?” Lapis was just stunned. She didn’t know how to react to this. “How long are you stuck like this?”

"Kit and I are proud of her too. Right, boy?” Lapis smiled when Kit yipped in agreement. “See?” The girl took this time to look around and see if anything changed while she was away. Big Cities would usually bring in new businesses. It was always fun to see the shops anyhow. 

Lapis remained quiet throughout their trip to the lab, for she was deep in thought. She had to remember what her Maman told her to get while she was visiting. Oh, but then that fairy bit caught her attention. She was almost buzzing with excitment. 

“The professor I aid in class is amazing. She’s an excellent researcher and her notes about the fairy types that flourish in Kalos is so extensive that I needed more than a month to read them all! Oh Spark, you’d love Kalos. It’s so beautiful, but the breeders are ridiculously secretive...”

Lapis smiled to Cotton after she heard Spark’s explanation. She went to his side so her could pet the Pokémon, and give her a Razzberry.  “Good on you, Cotton! Great work!” Kit even reached over to boop Cotton’s nose. Another job well done. 

“Go has a Flabébé? How cute! I’d love to see them! Go too, of course.” Lapis reached up to pet Kit behind his ears as she waited for Spark to lead the way. Seems like she’ll have to get the sweets before she goes back to Hoenn.

“That’s great! That’s actually really cool. I’m sure the kids had fun today. Cotton and Bolt too, I hope.” Lapis couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of Spark’s bubbling excitement. It was always so infectious– that smile of his. She had certainly missed that.

“Spinel would be impressed, I think. If he weren’t so busy with working on Arcane’s siblings, he might have noticed. Oh, but Zo and Jade really miss you too. They’d get upset if they catch me talking with you and I hang up before they can say their hellos.” Lapis clicked her tongue to have Kit run over and leap to land on her shoulder, “You busy, Adrien? I figured we could talk over some business at the lab, mind me stopping by?”

Ah yes, mask her visit with a job proposition. That should be able to satisfy the eavesdropping civilians enough

“heh, cotton helped me to keep the kids calm and collected with her sweet scent.” Spark said as cotton let out a happy chirp. Since she had grown out of the baby pokemon stage, she loved to help spark and bolt on missions and wother work related things. She helped a lot to calm down pokemon when spark needed to tend to them.

Bolt semed to try and push  his trainer on,  and spark noticed and he gave her a slight grin, “Yeah. Let’s go. The lab’s quiet today anyway,  since we recently sent out starters to the professors.”

“you should see Go’s Flabebe. She heardly leaves his side and is as much of a sweetaddcit as he is.

[text] Fantastic! I hope Spark won’t mind me using the audio as a text tone. 

Lapis gave a small chuckle as she listened to the recording again. It was so cute! She heaved a content sigh as she opened the second message-- a red tint flushing her face. 

Back in action? Had the inner and outer spheres of their world really been watching them that closely?? Oh, the thought just made her even more embarrassed. 

[text] I just can’t wait to see him either. The calls and video chats could only do so much. But let me treat you to tea and sweets maybe? A small thank you for the video!

Kit yipped happily as he received Bolt’s affection. He reached up to paw at the Jolteon’s nose as a way of saying he’s happy to see him too.  Lapis watched as the two exchanged pleasantries before she quickly broke the hug off between her and Spark. She doesn’t want weird looks focusing on them. 

“I’m glad to hear you’ve been well, Spark. I’ve been busy.... But that’s nothing new.” she heaved a sigh, taking notice of Cotton, Bolt and the egg. Spark must have been running errands, maybe she should meet him at the lab. Much more privacy there anyway. “There so much that’s happened. But you look awfully busy. Did you need any help?”

Before Lapis could even open the door to her Uncle Mal’s place, she heard the sudden call of her name. While she jumped at the thunderous sound, Kit was already on his merry way to meet Spark and company. 

“Syl!! Sylvi!” Kit mewled over and over again. He was happy to see such familiar faces. Lapis, on the other hand, smiled widely and started running towards Spark. Seeing that he was carrying other things, she didn’t throw herself on him.  She just stopped in front of him to see if he changed in the time she was away. 

“You look great, Adrien! Still my little Sun Stone, you are! H-How’ve you been?”

Weiss giggled and hit send on a video to Lapis number! It was a video of Spark perched in a tree, mimicking a Pidgey!

Cue in a confused but smiling Lapis. She replayed the video a number of times until she had a burst of uncontrollable laughter. When she managed to calm herself down, she text back:
