Item #350 in the American Biker case. 1986.

Item description: Early in the biker’s journey, one of his stops was in Van Meter, Iowa, and as popularity was rising in his appearances, The Des Moines Register was quick to write an article about him. We sought to remove copies of this paper before they hit the public, but such a big media company was bound to get the first word. Our archived version of this paper is the original piece by Tony Beeman and Perry Leys, before we asked to alter some information before the papers were printed that morning.

The paper contains a photo of the Biker’s Virago and the Biker himself in a sleeping bag beneath it. There appears to be blood around him, which was a detail we asked to be removed or explained away in the published article.
