Just read your latest post and I can kind of relate: a lot of my favorite Paper Mario characters are the ones next to nobody gives a crap about. Personally, I get really excited whenever I see somebody like you make art of the lesser known/cared about characters. I'm really sorry that you've been caught in a rut like this lately and that's it taking the fun out of what you love to do. Getting noticed on this site can be difficult, no doubt...But still, I wish you good luck!

Aww… that’s really sweet of you to say. 💖 I’m really glad to hear that. 

I’m sorry I’ve been such a drama queen.Some weird stuff has been happening lately and my mind has been going wild. I just need to keep reminding myself that I’ll feel better soon and I’ll get through this nasty rut. 

In the meantime, there’s still stuff I wanna draw. I’ve always wanted to try making comics too so we’ll see how that goes.

Hey, what happened to your Skolar drawing?

I just. Wound up deleting it because I was embarrassed by it. Not that it was terrible or anything, I’ve just been in a major funk lately about the lack of notes my posts have been getting (if the  rant on my main was any indication). The fact that its a character I love makes it a lot worse for me. Like I get it, it’s the partners and the bosses that people like, not the Star Spirits and side characters that I personally adore. My faves aren’t popular I get it. But whenever I post something about them all I can think about is people seeing it and going “god just stfu. Post something people care about already”

I’m just so frustrated with the artworks I’m most excited to show off getting the least notes. I want to make artwork to show my love and appreciation for the stuff I love but nah. No one else is as interested as I am and its fine. I’m done.

I don’t know why I’m getting upset at this now when this is nothing new. All I know is that I’ve been happier with my art than I’ve ever been and yet I’ve been getting less notes? Whatever.

I’m probably just gonna go back to gijinkas for a while. At least I know I’ll be happy doing that. I’m really sorry to everyone who sent in angst prompts. I normally try to get to all my requests, and I’ve probably gotten more prompts from this than any other art meme. But I just can’t shake the feeling I’m just gonna put time and effort into making something that most people are gonna pass over. Maybe I’ll get back to them eventually but who knows.

TL;DR: Yeah I deleted it because I didn’t want drawings of my unpopular faves to just sit there and collect dust anymore. I’ll leave the Luigi one though, as its a character other people actually like so maybe it has a chance to get more notes idk

I'm super curious as to what "🌺 - One with nature" is supposed to mean exactly...? You know, within the context of Angsty stuff, especially since it uses a flower emoji. What's your interpretation, out of curiosity?

Personally, my first thought was possibly forcibly transforming into or fusing with a plant, kind of like the toads in Toadwood Forest from M&L: PiT

But from what I’ve seen from other folks it could also be, say, a plant bursting from your body ect. IDK it does seem to be pretty vague but I guess that can make it open to imagination.

so… i think im beginning to see the reason why im feeling such bad burnout right now, current personal problems aside (things are already looking better on that end)

i think the number 1 problem right now is that my art has become to stagnant. what i mean is that im not pushing myself in a way thats been leading to any sort of significant improvement recently (which isnt to say i havent improved. im really proud of where i am compared to where i was this time last year) but any time i do anything outside of the standard-pose-blank-background artwork it never looks right and i just wind up frustrated with myself

even right down to the characters i draw. i mean, i adore paper mario and i doubt ill ever tire of drawing humanizations, but i feel like im just doing the same thing over and over. i could try and draw the characters as non-human but i dont know how because human characters are the only thing i learned how to draw. but even with the human characters i can never seem to figure out basic things like pose and anatomy properly

additionally i feel like i cant draw anything outside paper mario. on the off chance i draw something different nobody seems to care and its incredibly discouraging. so this stagnation im feeling mostly stems from my inability to do anything different and when i DO make anything different no on pays it any mind (im not trying to guilt-trip anyone, im just saying)

i know the only thing thatll help me get better is practice but im not sure where to begin. so i would really REALLY REALLY appreciate any kind of ideas or requests for anything that anyone would like to see 

also if you read this the entire way through i would greatly appreciate if you guys would please like/reply to this

sorry for the long post guys. i hope get back into the swing of things soon
