The start of their revue implies that Maya’s soul takes the form of a small yellow chick, which was removed from the painting.
This is followed by the reveal that it’s the larger bird over the stage, rather than this small one. It’s still a chick though.
What does Kuro have on her window sill in the credits?
That’s right, it’s Maya’s soul.

I absolutely love the way Kuro and Maya’s revue expands on their relationship.
They both came to this revue to have one final dance, one last show together. They will be separating after this, joining troupes on the opposite sides of the world. This is supposed to be a breakup.
Kuro says she wants to be reborn and put an end to this:
Maya accepts that desire and commits to playing her role. She has a desire of her own.
When the revue starts each fills their role, with Kuro as the supporting actor and Maya as the lead. Kuro bets that she can show Maya brilliance, in exchange for her soul. Maya agrees to the contract. They follow the script of this fight.
When it ends, Maya commends Kuro for playing her role so well. The role of a rival who has chased her for the past three years. When Kuro insists that it’s not a role, that they are actually rivals, we start to see what both truly wanted from this revue.

Thinking about the cinematic masterpiece that is Maya and Claudine’s revue in the movie.
Thinking about how the signed contract for Maya’s soul, the bed of roses, and the near wedding vow dialogue frame it like a marriage.
Thinking about how Claudine successfully defeats Maya’s god complex and wins the bet, as well as the revue, by showing her that the “brilliance that no one has ever seen” is her own imperfect humanity and destroying the “empty vessel” into which Maya had tried to make herself.
Thinking about how Claudine is literally framed as a devil luring Maya away from sainthood by drawing out her emotions, hence the religious symbolism of the cross burning, along with the “empty vessel,” when Maya loses the revue and thus gives in to temptation.
Thinking about how unbelievably gay both the dialogue and lyrics are.
And how they both admit that the other is the only person to whom they can show their true self.
And how they both explicitly say that they want their relationship to continue forever.
Thinking about how this is in all seriousness one of the most romantic lines ever written.
Thinking about how the shot of them holding hands over the contract for Maya’s soul parallels the shot of Karen and Hikari holding hands over Position Zero at the end of the anime.
Anyway in conclusion Claudine won because she had the power of gay and anime on her side, thank you for coming to my TED talk 🙏

'I'm in Love with the Villainess' Vol. 3 Released in Print
The third volume in Aonoshimo's manga adaptation of I'm in Love with the Villainess (Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou) is now available in English paperback. The manga was initially released digitally in July, with a print release planned for late August before being pushed back.
I’m in Love with the Villainess is a Yuri isekai series following Oohashi Rei, an ordinary office worker who awakens suddenly to find herself reincarnated as Rae Taylor, the protagonist from her favorite otome game. However, Rae has no interest in chasing any of the game’s original three romance options. She has eyes only for the main antagonist, the elite aristocrat Claire. Rae vows to stay at Claire’s side and protect her from the upcoming turmoil and strife of the revolution.
The publisher, Seven Seas Entertainment, describes the third volume:
Rae and Claire are about to face off in a heated battle to join the Academy Knights! The selection test will see Rae, a dual-caster with knowledge from her previous life, try to hold her own against Claire, a preeminent fire user. Who will come out on top?
The manga is based on Inori's light novel series of the same name. The final volume was released digitally back in July and will hit shelves in print on October 11. The fourth volume of Aonoshimo's manga adaptation will be released in English in January 2023.

"Kiss Me" Response List:
"Wow, someone's demanding."
"A little commanding, don't you think?"
"What makes you think I want to kiss you?"
"Telling me to kiss you isn't exactly consent-positive."
"Sure!"
"I'd love to!"
"Oh god, the day's finally come!"
"Wait, you want me to kiss you?"
"Since when did you even like me?"
"Kiss you? Where do you want me to kiss you? 😏"
"Ooh! Your command is my wish!" "Wait, what? It's your wish is my command." "Oh, sorry. I was just so excited!"
"Uh, no."
"Eh."
"Maybe another time."
"Don't you see I'm busy trying to fight off the bad guy right now!?"
"Um, maybe after I save your life, y'know? So you don't die while I'm kissing you?"
"How about you help me kill this guy first? Then we can kiss over his corpse."
"Awww, someone's awfully eager, aren't we?"
"Eh, no thanks."
"Never gonna happen."

So… I noticed something from the scene at the end of Episode 13 of D4DJ First mix when Saki is about to take off her costume and the rest of Photon Maiden stops her.
Everyone seems to have a surprised reaction…
But then there’s Kyoko who seems to have this huge grin on her face.
Maybe she just finds this whole thing amusing or maybe she’s like “Oooh yes, take off your clothes, I like where this is going…” either way I found it really cute especially since I still think Saki and Kyoko are cute together and I ship them despite the fact they have very little interaction aside from their cute duet moment in the opening.
