Kudos to those who are/grew up poor.

Here's to those who are street-smart due to having to live and hustle in poverty-stricken areas. Here's to those who can hold their own.

Here's to those who can make a meal out of $2 and still be able to be generous to others, giving the food from their own plate if needed.

Here's to those who sleep with a bat under their pillow because the crime in their neighbourhood is prevalent and the security in their home is inadequate.

Here's to their loyalty to others who are in their situation. A sense of unbreakable community and familiarity.

To those who can live through the cold, even if they're resorting to blankets and each over for heat.

To those who have no shame about coming from a rough area, where they can survive being mugged, jumped and beaten. To those who have been physically pushed to their limit to survive.

To those who can survive the dereliction and prejudice.

To those who show more genuinity and can spot a fake from a mile away.

To those who can adapt to any situation, whether it's violent, shady or dificult.

To those who work hard and more intelligently than others.
