Rodney looks up from his phone as he pops his gum. Valkyrie scurries alongside Rodney as they hum “We’re currently on our way to Wendy who is the fairy type gym leader, she writes fantasy. Deshret is the ground type gym leader and works as an announcer for races, they’re the youngest gym leader and about my age.”

Salem runs over to catch up to Rodney with Pearl clinging onto his head for dear life “There’s also my brother Apep, he uses ghost types. There’s also his best friend Borealis who uses ice types and has a cool samurai thing going for him. Judah uses poison types and studies biology, we plan on visiting him after Wendy since their gyms are like 2 cities apart.”

Rodney nods before looking over at Salem “Yeah and your brother is a dick, but Amna uses bug types, and Daria uses fighting types so I gotta prepare for both of them. Oh there’s also Aether who makes planes and stuff like that with the help of his flying types.”

Salem chuckles with a big grin before shoving Rodney “You know it but in terms of elite 4 they’re a big idol group with the champion! There’s Ignatius, he is a street racer I his free time who uses fire types. He’s my favorite, but Calix, Calix is really cool and is a grass type user,” Rodney takes a moment to think “Isn’t he the one who’s married to that one Elite 4 member from another region?? Though despite being cool Calix is practically always high! Though Munja is cool, she uses electric types and does the choreography for the group. Then finally in the elite 4 is Nile, they surf in their free time outside the league and use water types.”

Rodney books it ahead into the woods nearby and Salem groans before following after his glass armed friend “Get back here! But to finish it off on the champion, the big man is like the most popular out of the group. But he and Lance have the biggest rivalry, like it is so bad and the fanfics are plentiful. Rodney finds our champion pretty.”

Taking a chesto berry from their bag Rodney chucks it at Salem hitting them square in the face. “Shut it, it’s more so I envy his style! At least I’m not the one who runs the most popular fan account for him Salem! Plus Argy finds him cool too, the guy practically helped raise the kid since they’re kin.”

Argyos snorts at the question before smiling at the thought. He stares off into the distance for a moment as he follows Nemona calmly. After a few moments he snaps his fingers “Probably Salem or myself to be honest.”

Salem sneezes as he walks with Rodney who snorts in amusement. They look at each other and Salem shoves Rodney lightheartedly. Rodney laughs “Someone was talking about you~”

Salem groans at Rodney’s teasing as the two walk side by side.

Rodney points a glittering glass finger at Salem with a large grin splitting their face. Calling out to their larvesta he grins while calling out the command "Flame charge Valkyrie!" Salem scowls at this before nodding at his wimpod "Okay Pearl, you got this, dodge it and use aqua jet!"

Pearl freezes up as Valkryie's body lights up in stunning teal flames before she charges at the cowardly pokemon. Pearl freezes up before charging at Valkyrie as water envelops her body before she hits the thick fur of the larvesta. Salem grins wildly before calling out. "Perfect job Pearl! Now use scald,' Pearl immediately spews scalding water at Valkryie getting the other bug type in the face. Rodney sighs before growling "Struggle bug!" A lime green energy surrounds Valkyrie as she struggles before the energy slithers towards the other bug type and strikes. Salem clicks their tongue before shouting "assurance!" Pearl slams into Valkryie with ease quickly ending the battle as the larvesta falls.

The wimpod worriedly skitters over to the larvesta. Valkryie shakes off the water that had covered her fur. Rodney walks over to Salem and the two shake hands. Flesh meets chilled glass and disks as the two smile at eachother. The honedge with a red blade approaches Valkryie and Pearl in concern to make sure both pokemon are okay as Rodney approaches. They gently run a hand over Valkryie's fur. "You did great Val" Salem gently pats Pearl and Valkryie, "Yeah! You two did great you guys! This was good practice for when we actually head out on our journey in the next few days!"

Argyos heads downstairs and sees his mother and the headmaster of Uva and Naranja Academy. He frowns as he sees the older man in the door way. His noibat’s pokéball is in the soft pastel teal and purple bag that he got as a gift from his uncle. The man speaks as Argyos steps off the stairs. “You are… Master Argyos, yes?” Argyos merely nods politely. Not wanting to speak.

Argyos’ mother then speaks up “Argy, honey don’t slouch!” He puts his hands on his back, and stretches popping a few bones as stands tall with now slightly towering over the director. The man’s eyes widen for a moment before he continues. “Oh my you are quite tall- but no matter. On behalf of the academy, I must apologize for the late arrival of your enrollment documents since you transferred in a bit later than others.” Argyos gives a polite nod once more as the older man nods. “I am the director of Uva and Naranja Academy. You may call me Mr.Clavell.”

Argyos starts walking towards the house down the road just as Clavell said to with Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Standing tall he keeps walking at a leisurely pace to make sure the three Pokémon can keep up with him and his long legs. His mostly white shoes hit the stone path with a soft sound as he keeps moving. Looking at the three Pokémon he thinks about his friends back home, Rodney and Salem. He gets jolted out of his thoughts by the little green feline rubbing up on him. A soft smile cracks his usually tough exterior as he brushes a few hairs of his pompadour back. “Aww, aren’t you adorable?”

He quickly arrives at the far larger house and enters through the gate, he was in awe of the beauty of the home as the three Pokémon go explore around. A voice startles him out of his curiosity. “Are you these three’s Trainer?” Before Argyos can respond to the girl Clavell responds for him much to his annoyance. “Not quite. Master Argyos has yet to make his choice, you see.” The young woman nods with a grin, “Buenas! We haven’t met, have we?” She has a moment of realization before turning to Clavell. “Hang on, Director… Is this who I think it is?” a feeling of dread filled Argyos the second that question was asked.

Clavell nods and explains that Argyos is the newest student. The girl comes up and gently grabs Argyos’ hands and explains that she is Nemona and that she usually lives in the school dorms but her home is here. After a moment Argyos’ attention is caught by her mentioning a Pokémon battle. Argyos gently tugs his hands away and has a look of borderline disdain. He doesn’t like how forward she is when he hasn’t even gotten to pick a starter to go well with his noibat! Right! His noibat! He almost forgot, taking out the luxury ball he lets the Pokémon out.
