I'm pretty sure this is a big reason why my job has no joy left for me - the software I support is actively getting worse with each version it seems, and it's all in the name of having new versions and making it look like we earn our subscriptions. Meanwhile actual issues go unsolved because that would take time and effort, and why do that when you can just throw the latest UI changes on there and call it a day?
really funny that every website is in an arms race to make itself as bad as possible and immediately someone makes a firefox extension to fix it

For years I've heard that those booby mousepads are actually really good for a person with carpal tunnel syndrome but didn't decide to test that knowledge because I don't want to buy a booby mousepad that would make me some sort of sex pervert, I was raised Catholic I'm a good boy not a sex pervert. But earlier this year I bought a Gigan body pillow as a joke only to find out body pillows are actually really comfortable sleep aids, so... so I bought one... I bought a booby mousepad.
...and my wrist feels so much better when I'm using it.
How many other comforts and aids have I forsaken because they're embarrassingly horny? How many discomforts have I endured purely out of a societal shame about expressing anything sexual? This world is fucked man.

Ngl I was convinced that Florida made up its own system of measurement until I got to the reply, just because that sounds like something Florida would do.
Going absolutely buckwild over this screenshot I found

For the people who are confused about what else it could mean, "ratio" is used as a verb and adjective on Twitter to describe a post that gets more replies than retweets or likes (I feel like I've heard both and I'm not on Twitter nearly enough to care about that level of accuracy), or the process of a post getting to that point (getting ratio'd).
Somewhat ironically, it comes from describing the mathematical ratio between the two numbers and what the data tells us about the popular opinion of the tweet.

Part of the early hacker movements that resonated with me and played a part in my later radicalization was the dissemination of information and the distribution of knowledge. The idea that knowledge and education should not be kept behind a luxury-priced tuition system and classist traditions of centuries-old academic institutions.
Republicans love/need the uneducated.

The best thing I can say about the proliferation of "quiet quitting" is that, at least to me, the propaganda seems obvious. Like no sane person can really believe that doing what your job requires to the letter is actually tantamount to quitting, right?
That said, obviously there are gonna be conservatives that eat that shit up.
#QuietQuitting sounds like capitalists complaining about their waning exploitation.
