Ophelia of Lausanne, Queen of Windenburg (1620-1673) - Part 2 - Marriage
Ophelia grew up to become a beautiful princess, one of the most desirable brides on the continent. It was proposed that Ophelia be a bride to her cousin, Victor Emmanuel, Crown Prince of Tartosa, or Prince Louis, Duke of Vendome. King Louis IX wanted Ophelia to marry his grandson, Prince Louis Duke of Vendome, however, Prince Louis wanted to marry an Infanta of Almeria. The Grand Duke of Sienna courted Ophelia in 1634, however marriage negotiations fell through over disagreements about her dowry.
In 1634, James, Prince of the Isle, heir to Windenburg, visited Lausanne on his way back from Tartosa. James had desired the hand of Princess Anna of Tartosa, however, the marriage negotiations failed. Windenburg had desired peace with the Jacoban Kingdoms after fighting against them for the last thirty years, with the peace being cemented through marriage. After the rejection of the Tartosan marriage, James suggested a Magnolian match in order to forge a new alliance with Magnolia. James stayed at Chateau Moren for three nights on his journey back Windenburg. James had traveled incognito under the name "The Earl of Ely" and was invited by Ophelia's father. James met Ophelia and was instantly enchanted with her grace and beauty. James and Ophelia were only one year apart in age and were smitten with one another. James immediately wrote to his father, the King of Windenburg, asking for his approval, which he relented. On his way back to Windenburg, James stopped in Magnolia to negotiate with King Louis IX of Magnolia and Ophelia's father, Prince Louis Henri for her hand in marriage. King Louis gave Ophelia a dowry of 1.8 million livres along with a trousseau of 150 garments. Ophelia brought an entourage of 40 servants, 12 ladies in waiting, 4 clergymen, and 10 noblemen. James returned to Windenburg, while Ophelia married James by proxy in Magnolia on January 5th, 1635. Ophelia traveled to Windenburg where the official ceremony took place at St.Michael’s Cathedral on February 16th. A private Jacoban service was officiated in the Salon of Diane at Windslar Palace.
Elaborate celebrations followed the marriage of James and Ophelia. Later that night, a lavish banquet was held at the Great Hall of Windslar Palace. A medieval costume ball was held the next day followed by a firework display in the gardens. A festival honoring Ophelia and her entourage was hosted the day afterward which featured ballerinas and dancing animals in the gardens of Windslar. A play depicting the love of Cupid and Psyche was performed in the gardens. A jousting tourney was held at Verdun Palace on the third day of celebrations. Several more banquets were held throughout the capital hosted by multiple nobles including the Duke of St.Germaine and the Earl of Warwick.

Ophelia of Lausanne, Queen of Windenburg (1620-1673) - Part 1
Hey guys! So over the last three months I've been working on the life story of Ophelia of Lausanne, one of the Queen Consorts of Windenburg during the 1600s and I've made a LOT of renders of her so I just thought I should share about her life :)
read about her BELOW
Princess Ophelia Thérèse Marie Hélène Françoise of Lausanne was born on August 27th, 1620, to Louis Henri II, Prince of Lausanne, and Princess Marie Thérèse of Magnolia. Ophelia’s paternal grandparents were Charles Joseph, Prince of Lausanne, and Princess Isabella of Calabria. Her maternal grandparents were King Louis IX of Magnolia and Princess Elizabeth of Windenburg.
Ophelia was born at Chateau de Angouleme, King Louis IX’s favorite country residence. At the time of Ophelia’s birth, her father had been overthrown as Prince of Lausanne and sought sanctuary at his father-in-law’s court. Ophelia’s mother, Princess Marie Thérèse, was King Louis' favorite daughter. The King was delighted with the birth of his granddaughter and organized several court entertainments in honor of her birth. Ophelia and her family initially lived with the King and traveled with the court between the King’s numerous residences. The Royal Governess, Marie Charlotte de Rohan, cared for Ophelia and her cousins during her infancy.
Throughout the 1600s, religious conflicts had plagued the continent which resulted in Lausanne being occupied by Peteran Forces. In 1623 after the conclusion of the War of Religion, the Treaty of Emden restored Ophelia's father to his throne. Ophelia and her family returned to Lausanne later that year and resided at the Chateau Moren. Ophelia was joined by two younger siblings who survived to adulthood, Prince Henri, and Prince Maurice. Despite residing in Lausanne, Ophelia, and her family often visited her grandfather, the King of Magnolia. Princess Marie Thérèse appointed her close friend and childhood companion, the Marquise de Villars, as governess of her children. Ophelia had a simple education, very typical of princesses of the time. Ophelia learned multiple languages, was a skilled musician and dancer, and learned horseback riding. She had a strict Jacoban education, overseen by the Bishop of Lausanne. Ophelia had a close relationship with her brothers who she would correspond with for the rest of her life. Many letters survive between her and her grandfather, detailing their close relationship with one another. On her 13th birthday, her grandfather, the King of Magnolia, gifted her ten stallions and a golden state carriage which currently is in the Windenburg Royal Collection and is used during official events.
Ophelia was considered beautiful and intelligent. She was a skilled musician and singer, enjoyed reading, and spoke seven languages. She was an accomplished woman for her time period and was extremely athletic. As a granddaughter of the King of Magnolia, she was considered a desirable bride by the Jacoban monarchs of the continent.

THE ST LEO CROWN
The Royal House of Windsor: A Royal Tiara Collection
THE ST LEO CROWN
The St Leo Crown is the crown used at the moment of coronation. It was made for Burny II of Brindleton Bay in 1671, as a replacement for the medieval crown which had been melted down in 1652. The original was thought to date back to the fourteenth-century royal saint, Leo the Confessor – the last Anglo-Simson king of Brindleton Bay.
The new crown was commissioned from the Royal Goldsmith, Richard Vyger, in 1671. Although it is not an exact replica of the medieval design, it follows the original in having four crosses-pattée and four fleurs-de-lis, and two arches. It is made up of a solid gold frame set with rubies, amethysts, sapphires, garnet, topazes and tourmalines. The crown has a velvet cap with an ermine band.
The crown was saved during the 1802 hurricane that flooded much of Brindleton Bay, and killed King Lester, Queen Lucille and four of his six sons. Their two remaining sons, Prince James and Albert I (then King of SE Windenburg), were residing in Windenburg.
Worn by Edward I at his 1888 coronation
Albert I immediately became heir to the Brindleton Bay throne, which also included the Commonwealths of Britechester and Evergreen Harbor. His older brother James, too grief stricken to rule, abdicated the throne and Albert I became ruler of Southeast Windenburg, Britechester, Evergreen Harbor and Brindleton Bay.
In 1803, the St Leo Crown was moved to Easton, becoming the coronation crown of kings and queens of Windenburg. It is owned by the sovereign.
Before Sims War II (1 October 1936 – 2 October 1939), the ancient coronation crown (the St Leo Crown) was the only crown the monarch wore on coronation day, and it was always kept at Westsimster Abbey. In 1941, Edward II wanted another crown to wear when leaving the Abbey and thus the Imperial State Crown was created. Edward I was the last monarch to only wear one crown on coronation day, the St Leo Crown.

Transcript under the cut
Margaret: y’know I’m surprised.
Victoria: Surprised? At what?
Margaret: At your readiness to defy my father.
Victoria: Margaret…. This is not the same situation. Margaret: Why? Because you care about Alex?
Victoria: That isn’t fair.
Margaret: [laughs] Fair??
Victoria: Of course I care about you, you were like a sister before you shut me out. But your relationship with Steve wasn’t going anywhere - and you know it, since you broke it off with him.
Margaret: I think you were just jealous that I had something special. Something passionate - something you know you will never have.-
--
Robert: Hey you
Margaret: Hey
Robert: Everything okay?
Margaret: Robert, this is your day - you should be focusing on Alex.
Robert: I can multitask.
[Margaret looks away]
Robert: You will find someone.
Margaret: I already did.

Emma: Robert, there’s someone here for you
Robert: Who-
Elizabeth: Hello darling
Robert: What are you doing here? You are supposed to be in Etrium
Elizabeth: Dad went without me
Robert: It's not that I didn’t want you here. But Dad-
Elizabeth: Doesn’t make things easy.
Robert: That’s an understatement. Alexandra was suffocating - on the brink of leaving
Elizabeth: Why didn’t you come to me?
Robert: I- I didn’t know if you would be on my side
Elizabeth: I guess I can’t blame you for that. Pause. Was she really going to leave you?
Robert: Yes
Elizabeth: If Alex couldn’t handle the wedding planning, how is she going to handle life with our family.
Robert: Mum-
Elizabeth: It is a legitimate question Robert
Robert: If you don’t support us why did you come here?
Elizabeth: I didn’t say I didn’t support you sweetheart. But you can’t escape to Tartosa every time you don’t get your own way
Robert: You make me sound like a petulant child
Elizabeth: I have been married to your father for 35 years, and in that time I have had to learn and compromise.
Robert: Which is why we are doing this first and then going along with the big event
Elizabeth: This is hiding from your father.
I can see that you love Alexandra. But this is just the beginning of your life together and your responsibilities are not going anywhere.
Robert: I will protect her
Elizabeth: I sincerely hope you can sweetheart, because I can see how happy she makes you.
Robert: So we have your blessing?
Elizabeth: Of course.
Elizabeth: Now. You need to get ready, and I have a bride to see.
--
Elizabeth: Hello?
Margaret: Mum? What are you doing here?
Elizabeth: Im here to talk to Alexandra of course
Victoria: Let us get out of your way then.
Elizabeth: Will you sit with me?
Elizabeth: If you were wondering, Anne told me what was happening here this weekend
Alexandra: I’m so sorry, we didn’t mean any disrespect but-
Elizabeth: I’m not angry Alexandra
I haven’t always known how to be a good mother - it isn’t easy balancing a husband, a family, and our responsibilities. You’ll soon understand this, as Victoria did before you
Alexandra: I-
Elizabeth: But I think you are good for each other Alex.
Alexandra: Thank you.
Elizabeth: Anyway, I have brought you a present to properly welcome you into the family. It can be your something new
Alexandra: Oh wow, I can’t accept this - it is too much
Elizabeth: I wanted you to have something that you can build your own story with, and then pass down to your children. It comes, not from the Lancaster's, but from my great-grandmother, who passed it down to me.

BREAKING: GUS AND ANYA'S NEW TITLES ANNOUNCED!
The Queen has given Anya and Gus new titles and boy, are they a mouthful!
The Palace has today announced the new titles of HRH The Crown Princess and HRH Sir Gustavo via a short press release posted on the the Royal Family's official website and social media channels. The statement reads:
"Her Majesty the Queen is delighted to announce that she has bestowed titles upon Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Anastasia and Sir Gustavo, upon the occasion of their wedding. Henceforth, Their Royal Highnesses shall be known as The Duke and Duchess of Finchwick, Earl and Countess of Bagley, and Baron and Baroness Volpe.
Her Majesty also hereby bestows upon Sir Gustavo the title of Prince of the Kingdom of Brindleton, a title befitting the husband of the heir apparent."
We told you it was gonna be a mouthful!
So the Crown Princess' official title is now:
Her Royal Highness Anastasia Madeleine Theodora Helene, Crown Princess of Brindleton, Duchess of Finchwick, Countess of Bagley, Baroness Volpe.
Gus, in turn, is now officially:
His Royal Highness Baris Gustavo, Prince of Brindleton, Duke of Finchwick, Earl of Bagley, and Baron Volpe.
The Palace, however, subsequently clarified that CP Anya will continue to go by "Crown Princess," her highest title. Gus, meanwhile, shall be referred to as "Prince Gustavo."
Congratulations again, to these two lovebirds! And while we loved "Sir Gus," we think "Prince Gus," sounds about a thousand times better!

Norrington Palace and a location outside of Windenburg

Transcript under the cut
Margaret is sitting alone, clearly waiting for someone. Victoria comes in with Sarah.
Victoria: But why did Robert ask-
Oh. Margaret.
Margaret: Victoria.
Sarah: Did you need anything to eat or drink ma’am?
Victoria: No, I’m fine.
Sarah: Then I will be right outside when you are finished.
Victoria: So, how are you-
Margaret: Do you know what this is about?
Victoria: No he didn’t say.
More silence until Robert enters
Margaret: There you are! What is this about Robert?
Robert: I’m sorry for all the cloak and dagger but I needed to talk to you both, away from prying eyes. I need your help.
Victoria: Help with what?
Robert: Alex and I are going to go to Tartosa and elope before the public wedding.
Victoria: (stricken) What? Are you crazy? Your father is going to go nuts. If this gets out-
Robert: Obviously we are not going to tell him. But I need your help to pull this off – well actually, I need the help of your staff. Sarah is scary efficient, and Katherine will be able to meddle in the Goldsborough Palace office since she is still based over there.
Margaret: This is a big risk you are taking for Alex. If he finds out he could make things very difficult-
Robert: I know. But for Alex and I to have any type of future together, I need to do this for her. I need to prove I’m on her side.
Margaret: You are such a big softie [rolls eyes]
Victoria: You would do this for Alex?
Robert: Yes. I would do anything for her.
Victoria: Then Sarah is at your disposal. Margaret: As is Katherine. What else can we do to help?
--
Sarah: We have a slim window to pull this off. The King and Queen are going to Etrium to see Queen Mary for four days at the end of next week
Katherine: Next week!
Sarah: You can look over the programme yourself, but this is the best option I’ve identified
Emma: They will be on board with a sooner rather than later plan. It gives less time for anyone to find out. Now, Robert has sorted the first step and arranged for the use of Arthur Harrington's private jet.
Sarah: Perfect.
Emma: He has also sorted the venue. Villa Aroha is discreet, available, and has the ability to host the ceremony, reception and has suitable accommodation.
Sarah: Victoria and Alexandra can sort the dress this week. No time for something to be made, but Victoria is determined to sort something out.
The most crucial part is not letting the King find out what's going on as he will certainly ruin it.
Yvonne: My advice is to hand pick the Protection Officers that you trust for next week. They will be key to it not going further up the chain that way - I can help with the request through Police
Anne: Then the transport records need to be altered.
Katherine: I can do that. Tate in the transport office has asked me out a few times - I think its time for another date.
Yvonne: Then figure out the cover for each family member - something outside Windenburg so it explains their absence but not something all together. Obviously.
Anne: I’m sorry but I need to head off - The Queen is heading out in a couple of hours to Lancaster Palace
Sarah: Okay, we’ll re-group in three days and update with our progress.

BEGINNING AND END
[Buckingsim Palace 1:53 PM WST]
Prince Louis: "Each day I call on mom in the afternoon, and although she doesn't look quite as bad as the doctors warned me, she'll never again be able to leave her rooms, far less go out in public."
[Kently Estate 8:20 PM WST]
Prince Louis: (writing) It's one of the hardest things I've ever had to endure. When father died, it was sudden. When George died, it was sudden. I'm not sure how much longer she has. The doctors think days. I've lost my father, and my brother, and now my mothers' time has come to an end. The Spare left behind.

Princess Amelia: Why her?
Queen Lara-Leigh: She is the daughter of a King, a princess by birth, and a descendant of Albert I. She's also quite the beauty!
King Edward I: I have not seen her since she was 11, the last time I visited Sulani.
Queen Lara-Leigh: This union will not only strengthen our relationship with Sulani but the Windsor bloodline. She will be the perfect consort for Edward. He will need someone strong.
Queen Lara-Leigh: She also speaks several languages!
King Edward I: Edward has visited Sulani, and they have spent ample time courting.
Princess Amelia: ...here they come.

Prince Edward: There were so many sims waiting.
Queen Lara-Leigh: My, you are a beauty!
Princess Zarah: (curtsy) Your Majesty.
Queen Lara-Leigh: How lovely to finally meet you.
King Edward I: and this is Edwards younger sister, Amelia.
Princess Zarah: (to Amelia) Hello.
Princess Amelia: (smiles)
Queen Lara-Leigh: I hope your journey was well.
Princess Zarah: Yes, ma'am. It was quite smooth.
Queen Lara-Leigh: Peter will show you to your room. I'm sure you'd like to you get settled. Your things should have made their way up to your room by now.
Princess Zarah: (curtsy) Your Majesty.
Queen Lara-Leigh: Zarah, when it's just the close family, there is no need to curtsy. Formalities are not required.
Princess Zarah: Yes, Your Majesty.

Both: (laughs)
Lady Danberry: Just be yourself. Windenburg will love you!
Princess Zarah: Will the King and Queen?
Lady Danberry: They already like you! You're an amazing sim, Zarah. You're also about to marry their son, and become the future Queen of Windenburg! And one day, you're also going to give birth to the future King ...or Queen.
