The Trump administration is using both Israel and US Jews as a political wedge. Today's examples are about how he's using US Jews.

Y'know how Trump/Hegseth's Department of Defense canceled "identity" (heritage) months?

Going forward, DoD Components and Military Departments will not use official resources, to include man-hours, to host celebrations or events related to cultural awareness months, including National African American/Black History Month, Women's History Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, National Hispanic Heritage Month, National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and National American Indian Heritage Month.

Ask yourself why Jewish American Heritage Month was not similarly canceled.

I checked, and the US armed services generally do observe Jewish American Heritage Month. Here's the article from the US Army on that topic from May of 2024.

At the same time the Trump/Hegseth's DOD is delegitimizing all these heritage months, they're leaving Jewish America Heritage month alone. So...why was Jewish American Heritage Month left out of this list?

How do you think this will impact the way Jewish US military service members are viewed by their colleagues whose heritage has been erased as a part of the US military?

Trump is trying to kill all DEI programs, attack LGBTQ+ folks, and end meaningful education about the history of race in the US at the same time he's trying to aggressively punish antisemitism in post-secondary education institutions.

What effect do you think this will have on the perception of what Jews believe about other marginalized groups? What conclusions might members of these groups draw about the political alignment of Jews, regardless of the fact that at least 70% of Jewish voters voted against Trump?

US Jews are being used as a political wedge.

If we're going to mitigate the inevitable backlash against US Jews, we need to:

- Start grasping the danger of what Trump is doing by using US Jews as a political wedge

- Start denouncing it loudly, not just among ourselves, but with US gentiles who will listen.

- Loudly opposing every undemocratic/unconstitutional thing Trump does, especially when he's abusing his power to attack those who attack us.

Abuse of power, even leveraged against those we don't like, endangers us.

antisemitism has been a warning sign for impending fascism for centuries. jews know this.

so when jews beg gentiles, "please help us, antisemites are assaulting and killing and raping us, they're destroying our temples and are committing crimes against us at rates we haven't seen in years," gentiles say, "no, i won't listen or help you. that isn't happening, you're lying to be a victim, if there is any crime or antisemitism you're exaggerating, and you would deserve it anyway, actually i think you'd deserve worse."

so then jews say, "well, you don't have to care about it for our sake, because soon it will become more than jew-hatred and it'll impact you too, so you should at least care about that," and gentiles say, "i don't believe you, not everything is about you, antisemitism isn't real and anyway you'd deserve it if it was."

and then fascism looms, and the threat grows larger and more obvious as time goes on, and gentiles have the audacity to say, "why aren't jews talking about this? why don't they care? why didn't they warn us?"

and then they tell each other, "jews are as quiet as usual about this because they orchestrated it all. jews are the ones behind this fascist threat," and you'll never believe what happens next

Honestly? I'm tired! I'm fucking tired! Jews have been exhausted since 2023. Hell, the spike in antisemitism started before then, but that's when the situation got acute.

And where the hell has the left been since then? The left has been NOT kicking Nazis out of their activism, has been letting swastikas and "Final Solution" chants and rapes and vandalism and harassment and fucking POGROMS become praxis.

Jews have been telling yall for ages that Musk is a nazi. So I'm not surprised he threw up the salute. A little breathless that he did it in this context with this publicity, but not surprised. And that's the terrifying bit of it: not that he did it, I highly doubt this was the first time, but the fact that it was broadcast on CSPAN, MSNBC, CNN, FOX, etc and that people are justifying it as a "gaffe."

So yeah. I'm tired. I'm not even scared any more, fear is background noise. But I am just so tired. And to see that now leftists are going "Oh nazis and nazism are bad" is a bit laughable considering they called anyone who dared to say "Hey maybe Jews are people" nazis is just....as I said, I'm tired.

So yeah. Fuck Musk. But we already knew that. But now I just...I don't even know. I'm just tired and I know I don't trust leftists and progressives to have the back of the Jewish community. Scratch that, I know that leftists and progressives don't have the back of the Jewish community.

Now that these women are back, it's finally alright to publicly acknowledge how terrifying it must've been for Emily Damaris family to hide the fact that she's a lesbian from the public, to prevent further harm and torture happening to her in captivity.
