Hanzo has always been the cold, quiet type. Making friends isn't his strong point, but he's not very troubled by this. He prefers to be alone. At least, he believes that's how he prefers it. In truth, he feels quite lonely, but makes no real effort to change things. He's far too proud to admit it.

On top of a cold attitude, he's also very smug. He believes himself to be better than others, stemming from his once high status in his family. He was raised like a prince, and, despite having been away from his family for over half his life now, he continues to act like it. It can be off putting to those who have just met him or don't know him very well. To anyone else, it's probably amusing.

He has a good heart, even after being raised in a family whose business was crime and learning all of his skills as part of a deadly gang. His time in Overwatch made him want to redeem himself and fight for justice.

Bio:

As the eldest son of the Shimada clan, Hanzo was groomed to take over the family business. It was his duty from the beginning, and he'd always known this... but it wasn't what he wanted. His family dealt in crime, and the more he was taught, the more uncomfortable he became. As a teenager, he finally rejected his family and left home, traveling as far away as he could. His travels led him into the hands of the notorious Deadlock Gang, who took him in rather than killing him. He was quick to learn how to use a gun, making a name for himself as a deadly marksman.

However, it wasn't long before he realised that being part of this group was truly no different than continuing his family's business. He wanted no part of being a criminal, and disappeared from the gang. Running away wasn't as easy as he thought, and he ended up spending a lot of time in hiding. Hanzo had a bounty on his head, with plenty of people after it. He had some regrets going off on his own.

Lucky for him, it wasn't long before he was found by a couple of Overwatch scouts. They knew who he was, and offered him refuge in the form of joining Blackwatch. Somewhat reluctant, he agreed, if only to get away from the Deadlock Gang. He spent the next few years with Overwatch, keeping a cold attitude toward everyone, though he actually came to enjoy the company of the companions he made there. But, when things started to fall apart from within, Hanzo left, choosing to go on alone again.

From there, he became a gunslinger for hire and a proclaimed vigilante. He went back to traveling the world, this time in hopes that he would cross paths with his brother, Genji. When the Overwatch recall was initiated, he was hestitant to respond, but chose to regroup with them in the end.

Following an attack from Talon agents, a lonely Scientist sends out a distress call to the former members of Overwatch. With terrorist attacks on the rise, as well as the threat of a second Omnic Crisis, it’s impossible to just sit back and let the world fall apart. With high hopes, the Scientist gathers a group made up of former members, as well as newcomers with hopes of creating a brighter future. And on the other side of things, Talon continues to recruit new members as well, planning to bring down Overwatch’s revival. However, things aren’t exactly as we remember.

Role Swap is a Discord RP group based on exactly what it sounds like: the characters all have different roles than is canon to the game. The plot will follow Overwatch’s canon plot, with all roles the same except with different characters in those spots. Events and seasons will follow real time and the plot will be ongoing and, possibly, fast paced.
