Date attempt failed, succesfully?

Long story short went on a date with a girl i met online, except i misurunderstood and she was stright. we talked and went “oh we just misurunderstood, cool, anyway we are still having fun let s be friends anyway” and as we talk she talks about her lover....who is a teacher....he teacges at the school i attended. I alredy start sweatiung because “oh god i tried to date an ex teacher’s gf” thankfully she introduces him to me and turns out he started teaching there one year after i left. so date failed but aquired one  friend that i can talk shit about my ex tecahers to and he simultaniously can talk shit about his colleagues.
