the whole game is so tragic in that

the pajama guy just all of a sudden gets this prophecy to kill some evil and their purpose quite literally falls from the heavens but also they’re like.. 9 y/o. ofc they’re gonna be excited and instantly believe that they’re the “chosen one” if you tell them that they ARE the chosen one and now like an honorary high priest or wtv the fuck those monks said. they do not have any actual sense of wth is going on but what choice is there but to go along w it???

the evil monk seems very clearly to fit the “I was treated bad and bullied so now im evil bc of the trauma” trope but he also never gets a chance to redeem himself?? the other monks never seem to feel in the wrong. they literally just order some child to kill him. and the entire plot isn’t based on how he’s just not at good at the soul-making-horn as the others it’s literally that he’s just built wrong. like he’s just deemed “evil” from the even before he went on his little tyrant

and at the end the pajama guy replaces the monk as the 4th horn player. he’s dead ofc but that’s so straight up evil??? imagine u spend ur whole life in this monastery dedicated to creating life but u suck ass at it so all ur brothers bully the shit out of u. n then they get this fucking pajama wearing PRETEEN whos just naturally EXTREEMLYYY talented at the same thing that got u kicked out despite never touching the horn in their life and they KILL YOU. and TAKE YOUR PLACE WITH UR BITCH ASS BROTHERS WHO NEVER LOVED YOU. in (presumably) the span of a few days.
