I've known that BancalaWalker and HaikaraWalker are parodies of the real-life "Walker" travel magazines in japan (like TokyoWalker, KansaiWalker, etc) but I didn't make the connection until now that both the splat artbooks and the irl mags are from the same publisher, so that's how they can parody it so closely…
(thought I'd share this because I assume there are people that don't know that these splatoon artbooks are parodying a real life thing!)

It's genuinely super difficult, but Pearl and Marina are my GOATs... Pearl is Literally Me though, one time (forever ago) I was at a school-ish night event (not like a ball or something, but only people from the school could go) and I'd overheard someone saying "It's [the event is] great, cause you can tell everyone here is gay" while I was sitting there, dressed in Pearl Splatoon closet cosplay with a paper crown, eating my fries... She is eternal, to me.
AND I DON'T DISLIKE DEEP CUT BTW... They just haven't made as much of an impression on me :')
