Hello & Happy Halloween to those who celebrate ! I would’ve have a Halloween drawing to share , however because of my tablet situation , I can only provide some doodles I’ve done for Halloween costumes ! Maybe if I’m up for it, I’ll draw something late instead once my tablet situation is solved, but there’s no promises on that !

here’s a quick Halloween doodle thing that I don’t like very much but its something to post

I’ve said my piece about it on Twitter after looking into stuff some more, and hooo boy I have opinions , which I will say below and go more into depth as I can type more here):

- the new critter seems to be implied to be part of a separate toy line from the Smiling Critters, called “Nightmare critters”. The sheep/lamb critter seen is allegedly not the main antagonist of chapter 4 (and apparently is named Baba Chops based off of leaks !)

- I do not understand how they would exist canonically if the company basically fails after the Smiling Critters are made due to the negative attention surrounding Catnap. Considering everything, it feels extremely out of place for them to make a new toy line carrying their likeness (vaguely?) & make them so far off from what they normally make toy-wise ? Do they even have the money at the time due to lawsuits, low sales, and money being put into the bigger bodies initiative? They did start the bigger bodies initiative BECAUSE the company was failing after all , so how and why did they make them canonically ?

- Even if they did choose to overhaul them & make a new toy line Because they refused to accept that it was a failure & they believe so strongly that they aren’t done with the smiling critters, why make them themed to be scary when the whole reason to why the critters were controversial was because one of them was scary ? Wasn’t the whole thing about them not being done with them implied to mean they wanted to do More stuff with the initial critters and not make a whole new group?

- If it’s the company’s way of poking fun at their mistakes/catnap’s perception by the public, it still feels weird because of the obvious “scary” route taken that’s so different from what they normally make toy-wise and because they made a conscious choice and effort to sweep Catnap under the rug & make people forget that he even existed . The decision to basically make Catnap “Lost Media” would make the choice to create the Nightmare Critters weird (but not impossible) if the motive was to poke fun at Catnap’s controversies (which is kind of funny to me. Imagine being a whole entire company and you had a really major mistake cause an entire recall of one of your toys on top of controversy stemming from that same cat being disturbing in the cartoons made for the toys , and getting so angry at him for existing and being a vessel for sabotage that you make a whole new toy brand to make fun of him for the mistake of existing and being a vessel for sabotage)

- Mob seems like they’re tryna continue to ride the popularity train that came from the Smiling Critters with this, and the results make me confused due to lore stuff I’ve said above

- hopefully because the chapter does seem to be containing new critter variants in the form of the nightmare critters, it means we may get more smiling critters stuff, which I was looking forward to due to the Smiling Critters feeling somewhat under used (we only got to know 2/8 of the bigger bodies in game & even then we don’t know much about BBI Dogday!)

brief break posting about one au to post about the first au i have for the critters ! i need to come up with names for all of this stuff eventually, as referring to the stuff ive primarily been posting as 'au 3' and this au stuff as 'au 1' all the time may get difficult due to the sheer amount of stuff i wanna share + what i want to do w/ it (in au 3's case) .. i'll get to doing that eventually ig

anyways, with these guys i was primarily working through figuring out how I want to draw a lot of the designs.... which is funny bc ive had this au cooking in my head since before gameplay trailer 2 was even released . its a bit funny how puella magi madoka magica seeped into these guys inspiration wise despite it not being intentional. now i can get back to working on my bigger art stuff

hi , a catnap from yesterday while I was working w/ colored pencils again .. he is on a page accompanied by some design stuff for some au 3 house hypotheticals as the canon houses for the critters don't fit what these guys have going on (though i do intend to keep the canon houses in mind when working w/ them) currently ive actually been working on some drawing stuff that ISN'T for this particular au (which i still need to come up with a name for this au involving these gay ass little puppets.. im not very good with au names) so i'll be positng an image dump of another au thing soon

Finally testing out a new colored pencil set I bought via one craftycorn ! I wanted to do this earlier but my class schedule makes it so I have a high chance of coming back to my dorm too exhausted to draw

Writing a hoppyhug rant to properly get some of my thoughts about them out, however I want these public as I’ve seen a few posts that made me want to type out my thoughts . Ok. Sorry if it’s formatted weirdly or certain things are a bit confusing, I’m ranting bc I get all my thoughts during the school day and I have GOT to get this stuff down and post when I have the time

Hoppy is characterized to be the primary motivational force, finding things for everyone to do, helping others get out of their comfort zone, generally just being excitable, adventurous and maybe even brave (or atleast trying to keep an image of being brave) Shes also characterized as being a handful to deal with to some due to her bossiness, high energy, lack of patience, and possibly just being overbearing to some. She’s someone who always wants to go beyond what her and others limits may be even at the discomfort or expense of others or her own wellbeing and her impatient and bossy nature makes this dangerous simply due to how far she would push her own limits (I see this kinda thing due to the cutout audio . The moon is out of her reach and something she cannot logically obtain, yet she tries despite it and gets frustrated when she notices hesitation.)

Bobby is characterized to be a mom friend in a sense, being there to keep everyone together and always trying to maintain peace with everyone , her compassion and empathy don’t seem to have many limits, having so much love that she wants to share with others. She’s characterized as having patience and being better with handling situations that have to do with emotion, despite the fact I believe she’s quite emotional herself. She cares so dearly for everyone and everything that loneliness is something that stresses her out deeply based on the cardboard cutout, and she may feel as if she doesn’t really know who she is without others to love since it’s her whole “gimmick.” She loves so much that it’s like she’d do anything to let that love be protected , but not leave room for herself in a way .

The dynamic together is between two people who can do what the other lacks (hoppy having supposed confidence regarding herself and being a character that comes off as being almost “fearless” which Bobby isn’t , although that isn’t the case, and Bobby having the patience and understanding that hoppy lacks.) they bounce off eachother well bc of these differences and also because they’re both characters that have a primary focus of supporting and helping the others with things, meaning by default they can help each other ! Bobby has issues with the fear of being alone and things of the like , Hoppy can try to get Bobby out of her comfort zone to properly work through things like that + make her fears more manageable, Hoppy has issues with doing things that can put strain on herself or others, pushing her limits, essentially self sabotaging herself for the sake of progress, and issues with her pushiness and lack of patience and understanding? Bobby can try to help her through that kind of thing with her own understandings to make it so she knows how to do these things without as much strain .

It’s a dynamic where they provide eachother the possibility for help and understanding through their own problems , and it’s a dynamic where they’re both in mutual agreement on going to great lengths to make sure their friends are well . (Hoppy’s info stating she will slow down for others and is actively trying to encourage and support her friends via getting them to try new things and getting them out of their comfort zones , Bobby being practically based around supporting her friends, and making sure they’re alright) this also means they’re ALSO two people that would probably do a LOT for the other if it came down to it. This is a double-edged sword though as in Hoppy’s case, it could risk herself getting hurt, both physically and emotionally due to the possible trait of straining herself / pushing herself to her limits to get what she wants or to do she must . In Bobby’s case , it could risk getting hurt both physically and emotionally due to putting so much effort into the ways she goes about using her compassion , patience, and understanding, leaving little room for herself -> causing a very possible mental toll … though I do think Bobby is a lot more docile due to her loving nature , meaning physical harm is a lot less likely imo .

Putting them in a scenario where they can love eachother is fun to me because both of them are characters that care so much in their own ways, both of them risk getting hurt from these ways because of their own flaws , and can learn from eachother to be the best versions of themselves . It’s sweet 👍

vengeful digital ghost who becomes nothing but a vague concept to everyone who knew him enters the real world to make a deal to become real again (he has no idea that he arrived at a pretty bad time)
