I’ve never seen this androgyne pride flag posted here before so I decided to take matters into my own hands bc it’s the prettiest flag I’ve ever seen aside from the OG rainbow with the purple stripe

Anyone else get this sense of bubbling and clawing frustration that you can't have a gender harder?
I'm androgyne already. I can't be more androgyne. But sometimes I feel this need to be androgyne actively in some way, to express it as an action or practice instead of experiencing it passively, but then it's like. And do that how exactly? Gender isn't really something you do outside of things like performance and pronouns, and I don't want to use pronouns that I don't want to use and change the way I dress and behave just to fit the abstract idea of my gender more.
The whole point of it is that it's mine anyway. This is just who I am, it's not a performance.
But still I get this nagging feeling now and again of "I want to have my gender gender extra hard today" motherfucker what does that MEAN. How can I double down on being my own gender when it's literally just me being alive and myself?? And I'm already doing that????? I can't gender harder than I already am, what the fuck do you want from me!!

"I've been thinking recently about the first ever trans space I was ever actually a part of, Bigender.net. My experience was primarily with these forums in ~2009, but I came back to peek in later years, and am trying to regain access now. There's a lot of bigender cultural things there that would probably never be known about or archived somewhere easily accessible unless someone talked about what they saw there, and I wanted to share some things.
+ A Lot of people used two or more names that they switch up, use in different contexts, and that often align with specific genders. Names are essentially changed like pronouns are for many people.
+ Most bigender people seemed to experience some kind of fluidity or flux of gender, and it was rarer for people to feel like 100% both at all times. This seems to be more often where people label themselves androgynes.
+ The language of "en femme" and "en homme" was used to describe both how one was presenting (similar to the modern boymoding/girlmoding) and to how one felt their gender on a specific day, which is what makes it different from girlmode/boymode. It wasn't just about presentation regardless of gender, but presentation as related to gender.
+ Plurality became so common over the years as a framework of bigender expression that a whole subforum for plurality emerged on these forums. Lots of plural bigender folks would experience having a "girl side" and a "boy side" in a dual system.
+ There were just as many bigender folks who experienced a neutral/other/middle gender experience besides just being male/female. It really wasn't limited to 2 genders, even if at the time it was very male/female bigender focused."

Androgynine anon.
Androgyny refers to androgyny in general. Androgyny is not a gender quality associated with androgyne, however, androgyne is a gender identity associated with androgyny, or a term that is based in it at least.
Maverine is a gender quality associated with maverique identity, xenine with xenogender, kenous with kenochoric, aporine with aporagender, and so on.
Androgynine therefore would be a gender quality associated with androgyne.
That's not to say these terms couldn't be used descriptively outside the context of gender.
Though you could realize there are also some gaps with other gender qualities.
I made a flag! - 💙💚

Hi, hope you don't mind the question but i've been interested in having an androgynous presentation lately since i love many aspects that are both masc and fem. The problem is that even if i'm greyaroace i'm still cishet and so was wondering if you knew anything about cishet people that are gnc and androgyne since its kinda difficult to find any people to relate to
Hi, I don't mind the question at all. There are several subcultures where you can find gnc/androgynous heterosexuals who don't identify as trans - if you do some research into your local art and/or music scene (and/or look for online art/music spaces), you'll probably find that's where the genderweird cishet people are hanging out. You could probably also find like-minded (like-presenting?) people through fashion channels (online or offline). I don't know how many of them will explicitly identify as gnc and/or androgyne - as these terms, while not exclusive to queer identity, are generally associated with queer identity now - but you should be able to find some people to relate to even if you don't use the same language. Good luck!
