I'm posting this with all the love in my heart for the Guardians of Ga'hoole, my absolute favorite piece of media of all time: I hate how the Middle Kingdoms are written. The concept of blue owls/dragon owls could have been so much better and less cringe-inducing.

This is my one gripe with the books and I would love to have the time to write piece on it because I already hate the trope of Oriental Fantasy Culture but like... I just don't want to be quoted as a source on this cuz even if I feel very strongly about it it's still an opinion LMAO

I love you Cooper's Hawk that made me go "OH fuck" and start birding for realsies (i.e. Dedicating the time to look at birds) . I hope you know I think about you all the time. When I hear your stupid little baby cries outside in the backyard I haul ASS out there in hopes of seeing you flopping around. I love you

THE COOPER'S HAWK WAS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was the specific guy that I saw out on a powerline that made me want to start getting into birdwatching and he was in OUR PERSIMMON TREEEEE!!!!!!!!!

of the year, and I guess always, there will also be the opportunists. And they can be tiny and adorable like the Titmouse but also overwhelming like a group of European Starlings. Well, and the MoDos…
