Loosing weight without counting calories: my guide
*if you are looking to loose weight in a healthy way go away I have an ed*
Whenever I count calories I obsess and stress over it and end up eating more
You may or may have seen some of the tips bellow, but I know I loose more weight when I do the following:
- Always go to sleep hungry. It doesn’t matter how hungry
- Make thick veggie soup (with lentils and a grain) and TONS of vegetables and spices. Very filling, lots of nutrients, and low cal
- No oil (or butter if not vegan)
- Always have protein+carb or protein+fat. Try to never have carb+fat (ex. French fries, cake/cookies, starchy vegetable with lots of oil)
- Chug water halfway through a meal, and then wait 20s to see how you feel, eat until just satiated
- 16 hour intermittent fasting
- Try to go as long as possible between meals
- Try to get more than the recommend protein amount(+50g). My ed doctor told me to get 90g daily. This prolongs some of the bodily breakdown that occurs w an ed and keeps you satiated longer.
- Raw rev protein bars (peanut butter sea salt) are a godsend
- Cut times out of your day when you absolutely do not allow yourself to eat (6p-7a for me, longer if possible)
- Allow small amounts of junk food every once in a while (NECESSARY for me). Be mindful when eating it, try to enjoy it
- Try and stop yourself from thinking about ED things (including tumblr and weighing yourself). This keeps me distracted from food and hunger and keeps me happier
- WEIGHT LIFTING. You WILL NOT get bulky, especially if you are a girl. You need to be eating at least maintenance calories and above over months to see muscle gain (even then it is not significant). Lifting in a calorie deficit (with enough protein) will help to preserve muscle and metabolism. Lift heavy. “Toning” is something that happens when you lift heavy, not light. I’m going to make a post on this
- I’ve cut out cardio entirely (not including walking). I only weight lift. Cardio promotes muscle breakdown in a large calorie deficit and makes me ravenously hungry. My net cals for the day are lower when I skip cardio, and I feel better mentally
- Sleep god damnit. If you have insomnia bc of under eating, try to eat more so your sleep improves. 200 additional calories is WELL worth better, consistent sleep. < Dont have caffeine before 4pm
- Walk at least 20 additional minutes a day and do not count this as exercise
I got down to my lowest weight yet doing these things

~ LOW CAL | Oatmeal-Banana Cookies Recipe ~
Time needed: 20-25 minutes
Calories: 21 calories per cookie / 4 cookies
What you need:
50g oats
½ medium banana
Cinnamon
Sweetener
How to:
1. Mash the banana with a fork and mix it with the oats, cinnamon and as much sweetener as you feel best.
2. Form four cookies on a baking tray and bake in the oven at 180°C | 356°F for 15-20 minutes.
You can also use applesauce instead of bananas, then each cookie has 17 calories!! You can also add nuts if you’d like!

junk food is always better than no food
I’ve met people who will actually argue against this (and I suggest just blocking anyone who does) but if your choice is between going hungry and getting fast food or snack food….PLEASE JUST FEED YOURSELF. No food is actually bad enough that it’s better to skip eating entirely. Malnutrition is more dangerous, more immediately, and more long-term than any consequences of eating a damn twinkie or a cheeseburger.
