Some behind the scenes tidbits I feel normal about (classic who edition):
- apparently every story Matthew Waterhouse's hairstylist would say they were going to trim his hair and never did, resulting in all the variations from crusader triangle to fuck ass bob to shaggy mullet
-Peter Davison was unaware he was many people's sexual awakening in his dressing gown in black orchid
-Colin baker was mistaken for a runner by another actor in arc of infinity and asked to go fetch a coffee (which he did)
-he would also walk around making chicken noises on the set of arc of infinity (until he was told to stop)
-Matthew didn't know adric died in part four of earthshock until he read Peter's script whilst shooting, and was apparently more upset over the fact he was being killed off rather than just leaving
-a lot of the doctor who movie was filmed in the same building as the X-files
-Janet Fielding was told she was good casting for doctor who because she "looked slightly alien"
-Deborah Watling and Frazer Hines used to joke that she left the show because she got pregnant, as she left almost nine months after arriving
-Sylvester Mccoy once couldn't find a filming location until after the doctor who fans, who had been waiting there for an hour
-Paul Mcgann thought all the doctors companions were their kids
-Peter and Sarah Sutton had to stop Janet from accidentally prostituting herself in the red light district
-Sylvester once played the spoons on a guy that tried to menace him
-Paul had to wear a wig because he was casted with the long hair you see in the movie but cut it all off for another role a couple months before they started filming
-Janet called Matthew "matte-finish" and "boom-boom waterhouse" whilst filming earthshock
-the cast bought a prop gun for arc of infinity from a sex shop in amsterdam
(Just to stress I obviously don't know the validity of these I just sourced them from interviews and commentaries!! Please don't come for me if these aren't accurate! These are just some funny things I've heard and if anyone else knows any random facts or stories feel free to reblog/share!!)

I started crying when we saw the new TARDIS. I was so worried the rumours that it was going to be accessible would just be rumours, BUT THEY’RE TRUE!!! It’s fully 100% wheelchair accessible and that means SO SO SO much to me. When I was a little kid I thought there was no way I could be a companion because of my wheelchair but now there’s an accessible TARDIS and a UNIT agent WITH ROCKETS IN HER WHEELCHAIR!!! I feel so loved by this show and that means the world!
#this#oh I wish younger me could see shirley bc I would be even more excited#shirley anne bingham#doctor who

It’s hard to put into words and I’ve been trying to find the right ones but the best part of these specials by far for me has been Shirley. Not only having a disabled character played by a disabled actress but having such an awesomely portrayed one. Her disability is addressed but without it consuming her entire character. She’s just another unit employee, with a weaponry charged wheelchair! And the fact she doesn’t fit in to the stereotypes that a lot of wheelchair using characters can do. She crosses and moves her legs, they show her transfer from her wheelchair to a standard chair, they hinted that she’s an ambulatory wheelchair user which is also quite rare to see. And when they showed off the TARDIS ramp I was overcome with emotion. Because it’s such a tiny thing yet it means the absolute world. Younger me would’ve been in awe. To know that I could be included.
#I’m still quite emotional and my brain is tired but I had to put this out there#doctor who#ruth madeley#shirley anne bingham#disability representation#actually disabled

Osgood Outfits
I got bored and did a non-exhaustive compilation of Osgood's appearances.
Osgood's appearances are notable for their references to various Doctors. This ranged from question mark shirts, bow ties and the colourful scarf.
This of course was accompanied by the lab coat, being UNIT's current scientific advisor. But this was sometimes swapped out for a brown jumper or the casual blue overalls (Big Finish).
For Osgood's comic appearances, the colours of they use for Osgood's outfits appear to swap around between the twins for the story Clara and the School of Death. But the twist on the Seventh Doctor's jumper was rather interesting as well (I speculate to save on time). Just something to note, for those particular panels, the one detailed in those panels refer to the left image.
There was also another outfit which was a hybrid between Osgood's usual lab coat and the Sixth Doctor's technicolor dream coat.
I kind of tried to get many of Osgood's appearances but because of the sheer number of Big Finish stories, I just presented a couple. What I found particularly interesting on this search, was when they gave Osgood the Third Doctor's green smoking jacket.
#an excellent guide#thanks op#also made me realise I have way too many osgood outfits already hahaha#cant a guy cosplay his beloved in peace#petronella osgood

You know I always thought people were exaggerating or joking when they said the 5 was a tired dad with his 3 bickering children but they are actually like that. Those four really can’t get anything done without having to argue about it for at least 5 mins.
