If you’re reading this, I’d like to hear from you!

I’m trying to restructure my practice towards custom commissions for preexisting character-focused IPs in the scifi/fantasy space.

The main reason for this is that with original character briefs a lot of time is added on with client correspondence, working together to make sure I’m understanding their request and producing something they’re happy with.

Considering the vast majority of my clients are based in the US, I have the time zone delay to work around as well.

I’ve had a lot of interest in these custom Elden Ring and DnD cards, which work a lot better for me because they’re way more prescriptive and limited in scope, and usually require almost no revisions. Because of how quickly I can do them, I can also charge a much lower rate.

So basically I’m wondering if there are any other IPs out there with a similar character centric focus. Pokemon comes to mind, but I’m sure there are other smaller players in the RPG space that I’m missing!

Please lmk in the notes if you have any ideas!

013 OD’OH

FOOLISH POKEMON

ABILITY: TANGLED FEET

Ungainly and uncoordinated, Od’oh often trips on its own feet and falls over, much to the amusement of other Pokemon. It seems oblivious to its clown-like nature.

014 DODOING

BOUNCING POKEMON

ABILITY: UNAWARE or GLUTTONY

Its fat body renders its wings useless, so it travels via enormous leaps and bounds. It is recommended trainers refrain from using Dodoing to travel as the force of its jumps can cause injury.

015 VERMOB

RAT POKEMON

ABILITY: RIVALRY

Vermob covets gold objects and isn’t good at sharing. It lets one of its claws grow to an impressive length, which it uses to indiscriminately threaten other Pokemon.

016 CAPOKNOTT

TANGLED POKEMON

ABILITY: TAG TEAM - Multi hit moves always hit the maximum amount of times.

It’s considered the highest honour for a Vermob to become tangled with a Capoknott. They bicker constantly but fight effectively as a team.

010 RIGIPOD

WOOD BORING POKEMON

ABILITY: RUN AWAY

Rigipod sustains itself on rotting wood and leaf litter. Though it possesses little offensive capability, its tough shell makes it nigh impossible to crush.

011 BOMPIL

PILLBUG POKEMON

ABILITY: SHED SKIN

Bompil cannot move without assistance, making them a nuisance on forest paths as they are incredibly heavy. If they feel threatened, they can explode violently.

012 TREDNAUGHT

ARMOURED POKEMON

ABILITY: STURDY

Slow moving and impossibly tough, Trednaught’s rock hard plating is being studied for its application in military tech. It can fire acid at foes through the nozzles on its head.

#007 - SHREWTA

Water type

Ability: Torrent

Shrewta spends all day building rafts with its kin. They travel from island to island, cheekily plundering berries and shiny objects wherever they can find them.

#008 - SCRAPICETUS

Water/Dark type

Ability: Torrent

It swims with gangs of other Scrapicetus, stealing food and resources from other Pokemon. Though unscrupulous by nature, it is fiercely loyal to those it trusts.

#009 - CAPTACEAN

Water/Dark type

Ability: Torrent

Captacean commands groups of Scrapicetus to do its bidding while sharpening its fishbone shiv on its teeth. It is distantly related to Wailmer.

004 HATCHILE

HATCHLING POKEMON

ABILITY: BLAZE

This Pokemon’s skin is soft and easily damaged, so they never leave their tough eggshells behind. Hatchile have very little control of the flame on their tail tip.

005 NAGIMAGUS

APPRENTICE POKEMON

ABILITY: BLAZE

Nagimagus shed their skin frequently as they grow. They ritualistically carry their old shell on their heads while they practice casting fireballs.

006 NAGIMANCER

SORCERER POKEMON

ABILITY: BLAZE

This Pokemon teaches Nagimagus mastery over their flame powers. Nagimancer can manipulate its shed skin cloak as if it were an extra limb, though no one is sure how it’s able to do this.

started a fakedex project this week, which has been keeping me sane inbetween commissions. here we have the grass starter line:

001 TRUFFLIN

GRASS HOG POKEMON

ABILITY: OVERGROW

Gruntlin are skittish and easily startled. They stick close together in herds, digging for tubers which foster flower growth on its grassy coat.

002 SWILLAWN

GRASS HOG POKEMON

ABILITY: OVERGROW

Highly protective of its kin, Swillawn will charge at anybody who veers too close to its herd. The wing-like petals on its back twitch whenever it gets excited.

003 VERDIGOAR

FLYING BOAR POKEMON

ABILITY: OVERGROW

Though Verdigoar are heavy, the impressive floral wingspan of this Pokemon allows it to fly for up to an hour. No forest-dwelling Pokemon dare take on Verdigoar.
