It's a new year and I'm back to playing more of the second DLC. Picking up where I left off, I helped take out another convoy. Chased some bladewing moths and unlocked more of the new ikran skill tree.
Some Na'vi took out the big bridge that shot at me every time I got to close, so that was cool, made me feel like I'm not actually the one doing everything. Course then I had to stop the RDA from blowing up a mountain top. Lots of stealth and actually platforming.
Note: there's a part towards the end of the mission when trying to get out you have to platform but if you miss and fall, the areas so dark and covered in poison fog that it's impossible to find a way back up. So let your self die or reset to the Last save. Platforming in first person is highly annoying. Anyways.
GOT SHOT OFF MY IKRAN
But I, and my ikran, lived. Met a new character Rasi, who is a surviving Sarentu! Was not expecting that, I'm still on the look out for Nor. Her story is sad but realistic, hiding and playing dead during the Moot attack, to terrified to do anything but run the first chance she got. Now just wants to live as a hermit, avoiding all contact, terrified of being hurt again.
There's also been mention of someone named Bruno... I smell the DLC boss.

Finally got around to trying the lego Horizon game and all I can say is that's its a lego game. It's cute, lighthearted, goofy and simple. Would be great for kids who are a bit to young to play the actual games. It's also funny to be playing a playstation series on switch.
Though I would love to see someone who only played the lego game play Zero Dawn sometime. I'm sure it would be hilarious.

I've been barely working on a multichapter sequel to my stand alone fic Would've Could've Should've. Unfortunately all I really have is a partially complete first chapter and a few random scenes. So I've decided to show you all one of those scenes (and maybe the others too). Hopefully maybe someday it will end up in a proper fic.
"Wind... Wind wake up." Came a soft voice as Wind woke up with a groan. Rubbing his eyes and yawning, he sat up and squinted into the darkness. It was clearly still night and through the dim lantern light he could just make out Wild crouched in front of him. His face shadowed but Wind could make out the blue of his tunic.
Looking around he spotted Four and Josha sleeping nearby. Right, he had convinced Four to step away from working on weapons down in the emergency shelter and to help him and Josha with her Depths research. When it had gotten late, they had decided to just sleep in her work area.
Wild? I thought you were in Akkala?" He whispered. "I was... I came back, to get a few things and I want to show you something." Came the soft reply. It was hard to make out Wilds face in the darkness. But it looked like he was smiling.
"Cool." Wind said pulling himself to his feet, "I'll wake Four and-" "No." Wild quickly interjected at a loud volume before pausing then continuing at a quieter tone. "The others, they won't get it, not like you. We'll show them later ok?" "Uhhhh... sure, ok." Wind replied as he stood up to follow Wild out the double doors and toward the ruins of Castletown. Wondering what it was that had the other so self conscious all of a sudden. He had never been shy about showing them his world. But then again, Wild had been stressed with everything that's happened.
Moving east through the ruins, Wind squinted as his eyes adjusted to the darkness. Judging from the moon it had to have been just past midnight and everything was quiet. Wild walked ahead of him by a couple of feet, making it a bit hard to see him in the black, all he could really make out was the other's ponytail lightly swinging with each step. Try as he might, Wind couldn't seems to catch up. Every time he sped up his steps to try and walk beside the other, it was like he too sped up. Forcing Wind to always be behind him.
Eventually they stopped by a group of trees by a water reservoir, a still standing section of castle wall separating west castle town and the Quarry ruins. Wild turned to him, "stay here, I'll be right back."
Wind blinked before shrugging, "ok, sure."
With that Wild walked away through the passage in the castle wall. Wind would say he stood for maybe a few seconds before calling out to the other. "If this is some prank, couldn't it have waited till morning?" He shouted. With a huff he rolled his eyes and turned to head back. But after only taking a few steps, he heard a strange bubbling groaning noise come from behind him.
Turning, Wind barely had time to gasp as a Gloom Spawn hand came surging toward him with a screech. The big hand wrapped completely around his torso and Wind let out a yell as the burning of the gloom soaked through his clothes to skin.
Without any weapons, all he could do was struggle until it dropped him. Scrambling away he moved as fast as he could, but the Spawn moved faster. Picking him up from behind again, he could only hope to struggle once more, but before he was able to-
TING!
He was dropped as the Spawn let out a screech from the sudden arrow that hit it. Then several figures raced past him, swords out as they charged.
Taking in a gulping breath and putting a hand to the burning sensation on his chest Wind looked up at the figures now with him. Four was crouched on his right, Twilight stood tall on his left, another arrow knocked in his bow. They watched from a distance as the others: Time, Wars, Sky, Hyrule and Legend all attacked the Gloom Spawn.
It didn't take long to finish it off once they out numbered the hands and soon they others were put their swords away and walked over.
"How did you know?" Wind asked. "I saw you leave, but by the time I got the others you were too far ahead." Four explained. "But Wild-." He started to say before Four cut him off. "Wind, that wasn't Wild." Four stated. "What do yo-." He cut himself off as it clicked. OH Wild hadn't worn his hair back or his blue champion tunic since Zelda went missing and he got his new arm. "Well shit."

BTW i see these posts all the time like "ohhh i dont know what to comment on fics.." and every response is "keysmashes! or hearts!! anything works :3" and thats GREAT!! thats helpful!!
but: consider. if u genuinely like analyzing writing.. do u know ur just allowed to go through and quote your favorite parts and ramble abt what they mean to u and the author will LOSE IT WITH HYPE?
genuinely. i felt SO WEIRD the first time i did it.. but like. holy shit authors love it. its crack for authors. the first time i did it, it was on a fic that hadnt updated in half a year, give or take, and the author made 3 updates that month BECAUSE OF MY COMMENT.
LIKE. as an author every comment is INCREDIBLE!!! but also, dont feel like your comment has to be short or otherwise ur invasive or smth!! authors ADORE long comments more than ANYTHING.

Every time ao3 goes down please understand that within the few minutes just before the outage I was literally about to complete writing the entirety of my half-finished chapter, go through it again for readability's sake and editing, and then post it. So when you think about it it's actually not my fault my fic hasn't been updated in months. Ao3 was only down for an hour or two so now I can get to work you say? Oh. Well. The site being down threw off my groove. Allow me another thirteen months and I'll see if I can manifest the concept of 100 words or so.
