letterboxd really makes me wonder what a lot of these people derive out of watching movies /using this site because they seem extremely out of touch with their own feelings and only care about the dopamine hit when the numbers go up on their ifunny comments. this legitimately means nothing. completely devoid of meaning. its a gray flavorless mush . what am i supposed to do with this. im not expecting a professionally written review by all means but this is a new low. im mad i accidentally scrolled down too far and saw this on the front page. this ruined my day and it hasnt even started yet

Apparently the 1300 ft trash chute in 432 Park Avenue does not have any breaks or offsets in it to slow down the garbage so stuff thrown away at the top floors easily reaches terminal velocity and sounds like bombs going off when it hits the bottom.

every time i see someone call kirk and spock the oldest ship, i'm filled with the urge to go "hmm actually the holmes and watson girlies have been here for a hundred years now", and i refrain because i know the natural conclusion of this game is gilgamesh and enkidu

"Sorry I have a boyfriend" is of course a time-tested and reasonably reliable no-fault rejection strategy. But what many tacticians may not realize is it has an even more powerful counterpart, the preemptive boyfriend name-drop. This is when a conversation with a stranger veers into high-alert territory and you make up a guy named Raphael (my boyfriend) who you mention due to his extremely-relevant interest in the current topic of conversation.

Human rights for every single human being are not negotiable. That’s why they’re called rights, not privileges. Yes, even those ones you’ve already decided in your head while reading this are an exception.
