The LEGO Movie: Building a Commercial

This adorable, action packed, feature-length commercial made a splash at the cinema when it was released in 2014. The animation was spectacular and helped not just to move the plot along, but to provide plenty of technical and other LEGO related gags. One of the major downsides to this family-friendly film is that it is basically one long commercial. However, if you’re ever bored or need some kid appropriate entertainment that doesn’t involve killer clowns, the LEGO movie is probably just what you’re looking for. Also, Will Arnett makes for a hilarious Batman! Verdict: Redbox or library rental, but worth the Black Friday digital pack if so inclined.

Jurassic Park: A Roaring Success

This 1993 classic film is one that will never have an equal (despite the combined efforts of Chris Pratt and Universal Studios). Featuring an incredible cast, a thrilling plot, and an unforgettable soundtrack, this Spielberg masterpiece is one that reminds of a time when studios cared about both quality and money. Personal favorite scene: when the raptor jumps at Ellie right after she’s turned the power back on. Jump scare like no other and make sure to settle yourself in for an awesome callback to simpler times when robot T-rex legs were all that were needed to scare the bejeebles out of an audience. Verdict: Buy the collectors edition and revel in its glory.
