MUTYA NG PILIPINAS 2015 PRESS PRESENTATION

The 47th edition of Mutya Ng Pilipinas Beauty Pageant kicked-off with a blast last July 17, 2015 during the Press Presentation of the thirty official candidates. The event was held at the Plaza of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City. “Beauty Tourism” crusaders from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and Filipino Overseas gathered to vie for the most coveted titles of Mutya Ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International, Mutya Ng Pilipinas-Tourisn and Mutya Ng Pilipinas-Overseas Communities. The pageant’s President and CEO Ms. Jacqueline Tan was very much elated with the turn-out of the media attendance that covers the event this year. The Swimsuit Competition is scheduled on July 20-22 at the Sheridan Beach Resort &Spa in Puerto Princesa, Palawan where the candidates will show their curves wearing a two-piece swimwear by Wanderlust owned by former beauty queen Maggie Wilson-Consunji. Meanwhile, Hannah Beach Resort & Convention Center in Pagudpud Ilocos Norte will be the venue of the Long Gown Competition from July 24-26. The ladies will parade in their most stunning and elegant gowns designed by the country’s top couturiers. On July 27-29, splashes of creativity, innovative costumes and unique talents will fill the night as each designer presents the grandiose cultural allure. Each candidate wears something that will reflect her region. And finally on August 2, the Grand Coronation Night will be held at the Resorts World Manila to be telecast on ABS CBN’s “Sunday’s Best”. MISS REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES 2015 SECOND PRELIMINARY SCREENING

Things are getting exciting for the big comeback of one of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the land, the New Miss Republic of the Philippines 2015. Last July 11, the second preliminary screening was held at the Fisher Mall in Quezon City (the pageant’s official mall) where applicants showed-off their best to be part of this worthwhile search. The aspirants paraded in their casual and swimwear and later on faced the panel of the screening committee for the interview portion. A short list of ten deserving and stunning ladies were selected out of the numerous who tried out on that day. These lucky ladies will be asked to return on July 21 for the Final Selection of Candidates. The New Miss Republic of the Philippines is being chaired by a well-known Philanthropist , Socialite, Successful Entrepreneur, and one of the society’s best Dressed Lady, Miss Lynette Padolina. There will be a total of forty candidates for the initial year of the search, half of which will be coming from the different Filipino Communities abroad. Two major titles will be given away, Miss Republic of the Philippines 2015 and Miss Republic of the Philippines International 2015. Special titles of Miss Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will also bestowed to the deserving ladies. The winners will received a full scholarship from the organizers of the pageant with her choice of vocation plus free board and lodging during their entire reign. Miss Republic of the Philippines 2015 will culminate in a Grand Coronation Night this coming September.

HAZEL ORTIZ AND MIKE GERARD MENDOZA OFF TO HOLLYWOOD FOR WCOPA 2015 MODELING COMPETITION

Two pageant veterans will represent the Philippines in the forthcoming 2015 World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) Modeling Section in Hollywood, California, USA from July 10-21.

Hazel Ortiz, a nineteen-year old stunner from Tanauan, Batangas, former Miss Bikini Philippines 2014 and her male counterpart, Mike Gerard Mendoza who represented the country last year at the Mr. Model Universe in Domincan Republic will vie together with more than fifty aspirants from different parts of the globe for the prestigious WCOPA Modeling Competition 2015.

Five-foot nine inches Hazel is currently enrolled at Jose Rizal University taking up Business Administration Major in Management. “I’m going to give my best shot when I get there in Hollywood. This is once in a lifetime opportunity and I will show the judges and the people there what I had learned in the past weeks during my training. I am optimistic that I will be able to reach the finals of course with the help from my KF Family especially Tito Rogil Flores and John Cliff who will be providing my wardrobes during the entire competition”. Hazel says.

On the other hand, Mike Gerard the reigning Mr. Philippines 2014 is oozing with much confidence for the coming international competition. “I gained a lot of experience and knowledge during my entire pageant in Dominican Republic that will surely help to boost my confident in the competition. I am excited more than pressured and I am really looking forward for this break and hopefully I will going to nailed this with the help from my friends, supporters and of course our Creator” says the six footer from Bulacan province. Twenty year old Mike Gerard is currently studying at OurLady of Manaog, Sta. Maria, Bulacan taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Miss Rhodora Morales, a well-known philanthropist who was behind the successful stints of our past WCOPA delegates, once again will anchored the Philippine delegation this year. “ Panata ko na talaga ang tumulong sa mga kabataan na may ambisyon at may potential para makilala sa kanilang mga mapipiling larangan.  And just Like the previous years, it is my privilege to be of help and service hindi lamang sa mga napiling maging kalahok , higit sa lahat para sa karangalan ng ating bansa”. Miss Morales is the current Chairwoman of Paragon Business Consultancy, Inc.

The Philippine Delegation is set to leave on July 8 via direct flight thru Philippine Airlines. To Hazel and Mike Gerard good luck to both of you from your OPMBworldwide family!

MISTERS OF PILIPINAS 2015 PRELIMINARY SCREENING

Misters of Pilipinas had its first call back last Sunday, July 6, 2015 held at their headquarter in San Juan City. Fourteen applicants showed up despite of whole day downpour. Neil Perez the reigning Mister international 2014 was present and joined the panel of the screening committee. Winners of these male pageant will represent the country in various international competition including Mister International 2015 to be held here in Manila late this year.

MISS TOURISM PHILIPPINES 2015 VISTED RIZAL PROVINCE

The forty-one official candidates of Miss Tourism Philippines 2015 visited the different places of Rizal province from July 2-3. First stop is the magnificent Loreland Farm Resort in Antipolo City, the capital of Rizal.  The ladies had a whole day fun shoot with selected invited photographers. They were toured to the entire place by the very accommodating staff of the resort. They had a sumptuous lunch at the famous Balaw-Balaw Restaurant in Angono where they feasted in different exotic dishes prepared by restaurant owner Andrei Vocalan.  Angono is known for their famous artists such as Lucio San Pedro, Botong Francisco and the Blanco family. The incumbent Mayor of the province,  Gerardo Calderon was present to welcome the beauties from different part of the country.  Early in the afternoon the ladies went to SM Taytay to grace the biggest Bridal Event in Rizal province. They were featured in a fashion show together with the reigning MTP winners led by Cindy Maduma and Athena Catriz. Finally, late in the afternoon the ladies had a shoot at the famous Hinulugang Taktak. Considered a national park in the country, the falls went to a thorough rehabilation. This is one of the project of the Mayor of Antipolo City, Casimiro “Jun” Ynares III to bring back the glory days of Hinulugang Taktak. Councilors from different part of the city attended the event to give some information about the place and the updates of the on-going rehabilitation. Selected members of the media were invited to cover the event. The ladies also feasted with the famous delicacies of the city, from Suman to Kasoy nuts to Sapin-sapin and Bibingka.

Francisco “Gareth” Blanco, Jr., the Chief organizer of the pageant was so elated with the warm reception from the people and officials of the entire Rizal province. He is thankful for the unending support accorded to his group during the entire Rizal visit.

Miss Tourism Philippines 2015 coronation night is slated on July 30, 8pm at the Theater, Solaire in Pasay City. To be telecast on a delayed basis over GMA News Channel 11 on August 9.

YOUNG PINAY CROWNED PRINCESS UNIVERSE 2015

An eleven year old Pinay was crowned Princess Universe 2015 during the finale of the pageant held at St. George Palace Resort and Spa in Sveti Blas, Burgas, Bulgaria. Patricia Angela Cruz, a 7th grader at the Philippine Chen Kuang High School bested fifteen other teen delegates to the 5-year old pageant intended for the youth. She also bagged the Best in National Costume Award where she wore the creation of Chico Estiva. During the Talent Competition, Patricia played violin to the delight of the cheering crowd. Aside from the costume and talent, other segments of the competition are Long Gown and Sport Wear. Patricia told the members of the press during a victory press conference held at the 5th Taste in Wilson, San Juan that she want to become a lawyer someday so that she can serve justice and equality in our country. Patricia Angela is the daughter of PNP Regional Director Southern District Col. Gilbert Cruz and and Jeniffer Cruz a.k.a Ina Alegre who happen to be the Philippine representative ta annual Mrs. Universe Pageant this coming August in Belarus. Again, congratulations Patricia for championing our Filipino teens in the field of beauty pageant.

PINAY SEXAGENARIAN TRIUMPHANT IN KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA

A sixty eight year old Filipina business woman made history as the oldest Pinay to win an international beauty pageant title abroad. Ludivina “Vina” Lelim Nacionales was proclaimed Mrs. Asia Classic International-Goodwill 2015 during a lavished finale of the pageant in Kuala, Lumpur, Malaysia.  She also emerged as the most awarded among the thirty-two official candidates coming from different parts of the globe.  Aside from the title, she also won as Mrs. Charity Queen, Mrs. Popularity Queen, Estee Gold Ambassador and one of the Top 3 Best in Talent.

Vina as she fondly called by her peers is running a number of Care Giving Center in the United States for more than two decades now. With her own effort, she was able to raise her children and help her family back in the Philippines. “ I was really elated with the honors that bestowed to me during the coronation in Kuala Lumpur. Hindi ko inaasahan with my age na pwede pa pala ako manalo ng beauty contest. Hopefully maging inspiration ito sa mga iba pang kababaihang na kakabayan ko na huwag tumigil sa pag dasal na matupad ang kanilang pangarap either professional or personal”. Vina says during the victory presscon held in One McKinley Place at Bonifacio Global City.

Last year two Filipina also emerged victorious at the same international pageant. Jessica Maloles and Lady Datin Lourdes Stutley went home with high placement. Both were with busy with their civic works and career as beauty queens.

Last June 15, the forty official candidates of Miss Tourism Philippines 2015 was formally presented to the members of the press at the Eclipse Lounge of the Solaire Resort and Casino in Pasay City, the official venue of the pageant.

Mr. Francisco “Gareth” Z. Blanco, Jr., Chairman and Founder of Miss Tourism Philippines is proud to say that this national beauty pageant does not only focus on beauty, talent and fitness but also on global culture and peace, art tradition and promotion of the tourism industry.

Miss Tourism Philippines 2015 also serves as national platform to promote the different native products from all regions of the country that may lead to entrepreneurial opportunities for small business operators and eventually will empower rural civic activities specifically for the women and youth of the communities. It will also help to boost the travel and tourism industry for both local and foreign tourists.

Aside from the pre-pageant competitions (Swimsuit, Long Gown, Talent, National Costume, Charity Works) the organizers will conduct various events that will test the stamina and composure of the candidates through their talents and intelligence, and most importantly they have to share their thought on the advocacy of the pageant – “The Promotion of Tourism thru Beauty, Arts and Culture in different Cities and Municipalities of our Country”.

Coronation Night is slated on July 30 at  The Theater at Solaire to be telecast on a delayed basis over GMA News TV Channel on August 9. Twenty seven official candidates for Miss Manila 2015 Pageant were presented to the members of the media this morning, June 10 at the poolside of Diamond Hotel Manila. Like the reigning Miss Manila Krischelle Halili, the candidates went through rigid scrutiny of the screening committee of the pageant.  In preparation for the Grand Coronation Night on June 24 at the PICC Plenary Hall, the candidates will go through orientations and trainings of becoming a true beauty queen and an ambassadress of the City of Manila.

MRS. ASIA CLASSIC INTERNATIONAL PHILIPPINES- VINA LELIM NACIONALES

Vina Lelim Nacionales from Iloilo is the Philippines representative for the forth coming Mrs. Asia Classic International in Malaysia from June 9to 14.

Vina is a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist, and CEO of Nacionales & Associates, Inc., which she founded in 1998. She firmly believe in adhering to the degree of ethics in all aspects of life including business dealings.  An Ilongga who earned Bachelor of Science in Education from University of Iloilo.

During her migration to the United States, she faced many difficulties and challenges. But her motivation and courage to support her family back in the Philippines made her one of the most powerful and inspiring women of the country.

Nevertheless, her success did not come easily. When she started her life in the US, she struggled with culture shock and language barrier and barely could make a living. She kept on going with determination to make a difference in her life and decided to go to school and took nursing course and eventually became a certified Home Health Nurse. Her life changed when she became a full time private nurse and personal assistant to the wife of the Mayor of Beverly Hills  in California. She finally went on track and her hard works started to paid-off. This was the point of her career when she started to become a socialite in Beverly Hills.

Slowly establishing herself, Vina decided to open her first health care business in Loss Angeles in which she decided to dedicate her life to the health care profession. She also invest in real estates and with her expertise she was able to acquire a number of rental properties including her posh residence and a vacation home in Las Vegas.

Last year, Lady Lourdes Stutely made the country proud when she placed First Runner-Up in this prestigious pageant for married women. This year Vina Lelim Nacionales is determined to double that feat and hopefully to clinch the first Miss Asia Classic International t

PEPPs Foundation - Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation Inc. held a press launch on June 4 to kick off two major events that will put focus on Philippine male pageantry at its finest - Misters 2015 ( The Misters of Pilipinas Search), slated on September 13; and the 2015 Mister International Pageant which the country will host on November 28. "This is truly an exciting moment for us in the organization and we are promising a memorable competition" beamed Carlo Morris Galang, PEPPS President and Project Director. A NEW NAME Unveiled during the launch was the new name of the pageant - Misters 2015: The Misters of Pilipinas Search. "We felt that it was time to show our nationalism by using our country's name in the vernacular," Galang. "Misters of Pilipinas can now proudly say that we have produced the country's best misters who will further take us to international recognition". Mister International 2015 Neil Perez (Mariano Flormata, Jr.) could not agree more. JUDAH COHEN- A TRUE MISTER TOURISM INTERNATIONAL PHILIPPINES TO THE CORE

With Misters 2015 on its way through its formal launch last June 4, the last of the 2014 winners have yet to compete internationally - Judah Cohen, Mister Tourism International Philippines. "The international competition will be held in August" Cohen says. " I am a bit disappointed about the delay,but under no circumstances have I been discouraged I take the extra time. to prepare as a blessing." While his other co-winners from Misters 2014 have been out and about, the same can be said about Judah. True to his title, he has partnered with the Department of Tourism, in particular Region 7 where he is based and has been active in tourism efforts there.

MISS PHILIPPINES-EARTH 2015 WINNERS

The new set of Earth Warriors were crowned last May 31, 2015 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Angelia Ong of Manila and a student of DLSU _CSB became the 15th title holder of Miss Philippines-Earth. Miss San Antonio Nueva Ecija Chanel Olive Thomas was named Miss Air, Miss Bago City-Cebu Catherine Joy Marin snared the Miss Water title, Miss Fire went to Miss siniloan-Laguna Carla Valderama and Miss Ec-Tourism goes to Jona Swett of Ilo-ilo City. congratulations to carousel Productions, Inc. for another succesful staging of MPE.

MODEL MOMS PHILIPPINES 2015 HONORED

Twenty-four outstanding moms of the country were honored last night during the Model Mom Philippines 2015 Awarding ceremony held at the Emar suites, Mandaluyong City. The event was presented by Cherry Laboratory, the maker of Kokuryu Cosmetics in the Philippines  and celebrating its 50th year in the business and in cooperation with RDH Entertainment Network.

The awardees were cited for their achievements and legacy in the community and their status being a role model to their kids and inspirations to their family. Here are names from the shortlist.
