🇵🇸🙏 don't scroll ‼️
Hello dear people
I am Nabila from Gaza,, I am 64 years old ,,
speaking to you with a heavy and painful heart. I am sorry that I had to ask for help from you, but what we are living is what pushed me to do this. I was living a beautiful, quiet life, enjoying the time I spend with my grandchildren and seven daughters.
Imagine waking up to find that your world has changed in a moment, and you have lost your security and peace, and your home has been destroyed, and you have become homeless and living in conditions that no human being can bear. I suffer from chronic diseases, high blood pressure and diabetes. My medication has run out for some time and I am facing difficulty in obtaining it in light of the lack of treatment in hospitals and health centers. Most of the time I cannot feel my limbs, but I am trying to resist. I do not want to die in such circumstances. I still have hope that this war will end and we will rebuild our beautiful and beloved country again and live in safety. I believe in divine power and justice and that all this pain will go away.
I am trying to endure these difficult conditions that I live in inside a small tent and a bathroom a few meters away from my tent and you know the conditions of diabetics in this case but once again there is still hope. I used to live at the expense of my daughters but with all sadness and regret they have all lost their homes and places of work and they have no source of income left and their situation is like that of any Gazan who is still inside Gaza struggling with death, hunger, diseases and extreme heat each one struggling to feed his children I cannot ask them for help so I have resorted to you and I am fully confident in your humanity to help me so that I can provide food and treatment and provide a better tent than the one I live in because it is torn and the place is full of insects. If I can provide treatment, I want to continue my life and see my grandchildren grow up around me. I don’t want to go now. I know that I don’t have as much life left as I have, but I have the right to live and enjoy this. Please don’t hesitate to help your mother who has come to you with a heavy and sad heart. Every dollar will make a difference in my life. Don’t leave me to live this pain. I appreciate what you are doing for every Palestinian inside and outside Gaza. I pray to God that you don’t go through what we are going through, my beloved.

My lukewarm take is that one of the greatest privileges of all is the ability to exist as the «default setting», being seen as just a person, and not as a representative of a group of people who share your gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or cultural/religious background. Which is why the «not all men» pushback against any mention of structural sexism was what it was. Because suddenly people who were used to being the default setting were being made into representatives of their gender, having to prove that they were better than the stereotypes forced upon them. And they did not like that one bit.

Now that zionist occupation announced they are going to occupy all of Gaza, their genocidal intent is clear. This was always about ethnic cleansing. That's why they systematically destroyed Gaza and murdered so many civilians. If you still support Israel, you are openly in favor of genocide.

The ancient Romans were so so right about “eheu” being their word for “alas”. It sounds like the saddest most pathetic little sob. Eheu….

I am constantly hurt by the callousness with which people dismiss the harm of restricting adult content and porn, only concerned about the knock-on effects for queer people and radical political groups. Sex workers ourselves matter just as much as non sex working queer people and leftists.
We are not canaries in the coal mine whose deaths you can dismiss while you frame groups you actually care about as the sole human casualties of these policies. I need you to care that laws like the Online Safety Act lead sex workers to have to return to abusive third parties to find clients or to work in brothels we hate or to such poverty that we starve. I need you to care about payment processors refusing to pay out for adult content because it means sex workers cannot rely on online work when selling sex in-person becomes too much for our bodies or too risky.
Please care about sex workers' suffering, rather than only the fact your favourite queer game was de-listed from itch.io and that you have to use a VPN to access adult subreddits without giving your ID now.

While it's true that mandatory identity verification will inevitably be leaked on a massive scale, the thing you need to understand when framing these arguments is that a lot of the folks in favour of such measures don't see that as a bad thing. Full de-anonymisation of the Internet is their explicit goal. Like, the actual objective here is for everyone to have a public record of everything they say and do – online or otherwise – linked to their government ID. The universal panopticon is the good ending as far as these people are concerned.

Lana del Rey (early work) and Sabrina Carpenter basically did the same thing to achieve success, after unsuccessful attempts to make it big. They picked an immediately recognizable set of visual symbols invoking a specific white female heterosexuality--Lana did her Veronica Lake peekaboo chanteuse film noir femme fatale, Sabrina did... something similar but blonder and with the self-conscious "oopsie-woopsie!" funny horny baby part of Marilyn Monroe's public image--and made songs about the destructive inevitability of relationships with men. Lana sang about rich, older men using and abusing her, surrounded by imagery implying luxury, wealth, and danger. Sabrina sings about male partners disappointing her, being stupid, useless, and frustrating, but craving their attention and loving sex with them regardless. In both cases, the result of the "story" each tells is foreclosed. Yes, men are evil, but Lana will go back to Daddy. Yes, men are useless, but Sabrina will go back to hottie. There is no possibility of declining the heterosexual imperative. For all these reasons calling these works "feminist" is pretty much a joke given the scads of money both have made off their respective images. The culture loves the symbols they use and the narratives they evoke and will throw cash at any woman who can continue to produce this dead-end type of cultural messaging and sell other women the lie that you have no choice but to partner with and center men no matter how unhappy they make you or how much it hurts.

I feel so bad for the annoying women at work. Like I actually feel sick when we’re interacting and I feel the annoyance occurring in my brain like she really doesn’t mean to be this way and she just doesn’t want to feel alone or rejected. you can tell she’s experienced being an outsider everywhere she goes it’s only a matter of time. And it’s not cool chic or edgy but in the ugliest most desperate and dehumanizing way. They always start hopeful. they want to connect and they go searching for someone receptive to her so she can find her people but everyone turns away from her slowly and u hear it in her voice. It’s happening again. she starts hesitating to speak and when she does you hear a shaky child ending every sentence like it’s a question. Testing the waters to know if she’s wrong for even trying. And then I realize I took her smile for granted now that it’s gone.. I have to make it up to her I can’t let something like this continue. Life is so hard for people everywhere, so building a tolerance for being irritated is nothing in comparison especially if the reward is less pain and loneliness in the world I will always be the bestie you have my word

This whole thing about scanning your face to prove tour age is making me remember, in 2018 while out in paris we got our wallet stolen during a particularly busy night at a lesbian bar. It was very late and with no money to buy metro tickets we were effectively stranded, but some people helped us and we ended up staying the night at a really sweet older man's place. His face was deeply scarred and he was missing an eye. We chatted on our way and he told me about his life, probably to help calm me down. He explained he had been stuck in a house fire 20 years ago and had had multiple rounds of facial reconstruction and a skin graft, but there's only so much surgery can do so he just learned to live with it. I remember he said he liked the queer bars because they're the only place people don't really stare at him.
At some point I took out my phone, and at the time I was using face unlock. This prompted him to tell me all the ways this technology doesn't work on him. How his phone selfie camera doesn't focus right because it's not detecting a face. How he had to update his ID the old fashioned way, because the website kept rejecting his photos. And how it was becoming more and more common, and how it was making his life way harder.
This was 7 years ago, and now whenever I see this sort of technology I think of how that guy can't use it. And how house fires are pretty common, and how anything from being born this way to a skin condition to heavy tattooing can probably cause the same issue. Can these people get age verified ? Will they just lose access to all social media, which are increasingly necessary in society, if this becomes the norm ? These are people who are already driven out of public spaces due to how they look, and they're getting pushed out online too all in the interest of companies wanting more money.

🌹Hello again🌹
Note: I lost my old campaign and had to create a new campaign. I am now starting over with you, but I know that you are by my side and will not leave me alone in this war and this bad situation. My child and I are in great need of your support. I hope that you will continue to support me as before.
We are a small family consisting of 3 members. We lived a beautiful life. I worked as a lawyer and my husband worked in programming. We lived in peace and security before October 7, but since that time we have not lived a single fine day. We were in our house at the beginning of the war, but We have Ahtaho Khan Yunis. We were the first people to leave. There was artillery shelling over our heads. Many died before our eyes. We escaped death and ran away more than 7 times while we were in Rafah and made tents.. Now we are in a tent after we were living a good life and we have a beautiful house. But unfortunately, the occupation has destroyed it. We are dying every second and every minute. If it is not from the occupation, then it is from living in a tent made of nylon in this extreme heat, or from the high prices through which we are unable to buy the simplest necessities of life. My child is exposed to many diseases and gets very tired. I appeal to those with good hearts to look at our situation, how we were and how we have become
I hope you see my account and see what we are suffering from, a new displacement and new tents. We are now sleeping in the street, me and my little child. He is suffering a lot. I don't know what awaits us. Our situation is very bad and difficult. It is truly tragic. I hope you help us with your donations, even if they are small. Don't forget us. We are in a difficult situation and my little child cannot bear it. I wish I had given him a better life than this, but he is not well now. He cannot enjoy his life or play like other children. He has become very afraid and cries a lot. I hope you help us and give us hope again. We need you and your constant support. I hope you look at us again and feel what we feel and what we live. Perhaps your donations will be the reason for saving my life and the life of my little child. I hope you always remember us and do not forget us.
Tumblr media
Asking for help is not easy .l request a small donation of $ 10 or $25 from each person .$20 will save my family and help me cover travel expensesx
Donate even £5, even if it is small, it does a lot for us, helps us stay alive and gives us hope to continue our lives and that we can build a new life with these donations.
Donate to me and my little boy, he needs your support and your donation

also do you ever think about how the hyperbolic slapstick humor in the nanami episodes is deliberate. how in reality she is just a really young girl faced with things that are new and strange to her, and she's having such a bad time.but the show sets her up as an odd girl, too silly, borderline hysteric. everyone is laughing at her. so you do too. but it's one of those moments where the show is aware that it has an audience, and this play has been specially prepared for you. nanami's understandable discomfort is discredited by her portrayal as an "irrational teenage girl". isn't she just so dramatic? she walks to the stage and begs the audience to please tell her what's going on and suddenly a message appears for the viewers This is a Comedic Monologue! None of It is Meant to Be Taken Seriously. Please Ignore Her. the show has decided for you how you shall interpret her and feeds it to you. it's one of the most effective showcases of misogyny in rgu to me, because the show makes you complicit in it. it needs to to dismiss the critique to the world she clearly poses. and for a moment you go along with it. you doomed nanami too.
it sends the message that how you view the characters in this story matters. you were never considered a passive observer. it's all a play they're putting on for you after all.

this is racist on its own but i think what always gets me about these types of posts is (and i realize this is a very surface level observation but) you never see people on here say "western live-action dramas are the high school girls in underwear medium" people will critique riverdale or pretty little liars or supernatural or the such individually but the issue is almost always attributed to the specific piece of media or the writers and not the medium as a whole despite the fact that a large amount of these examples do in fact do the same things people constantly act like are unique flaws of anime (misogyny, sexualization of high school characters, romanticization of underage characters getting with overage ones, ect.) it's all just very blatant
