Stephen Lang movie of the week(s) is: The Hard Way (1991)

A buddy cop comedy featuring Michael J. Fox and James Woods that I have NOT seen yet, but I've heard it's definitely worth watching for Lang's character.

So this is the watch club's movie for the next two weeks (January 13 to January 26). Feel free to watch it whenever you can and share any thoughts or feelings or whatever. And if anyone wants to suggest a movie feel free to do so, I'm just picking from his filmography at random pretty much...

Well I finally did it... I rewatched "the way of water". Last time I saw it was December 31st, 2022, in theaters and, despite how crazy I got about Avatar, I haven't rewatched it since. In fact, I was afraid to... Because I was afraid it would bring back very bad memories, since everything started going wrong after that (literally I spent the night of January 1st 2023 in a hospital waiting room and that was just the beginning of the end)

But... It didn't. It made me happy. Well, it also gave me the usual post-Avatar depression that everyone gets after being forced to return to reality, where one can't ride flying dragons, but otherwise it was nice to reconnect to the source material at last...

Now if you'll excuse me, I have at least one WIP I need to blow the dust off and continue...

The Stephen Lang movie (and tv) watch club is ON

(I'm posting this in the tag for visibility, but I already posted it in the community)

Here's the details:

Every 2 weeks we agree on a movie or a show

Each person watches it independently, whenever you want/can

We share any thoughts or opinions or reactions here on tumblr! Remember to use the #StephenLang tag, which I assume most of us here follow

There's really no rules, other than be civil... This is supposed to be a very casual thing, in fact if you couldn't watch the movie or show it's fine also, honestly... It's just an excuse to watch movies from a great character actor whom we love...

So, for our first 2 weeks (from the 30th of December to the 12th of January) I propose...

Avatar 1 and 2!

I know that's two movies, but I thought it'd be appropriate since a lot of us have done or were going to do a holiday re-watch in the anniversary of the release... So you can watch one or the other, or both, and post about it, or don't, it's up to you just have fun with it.

I'm going to assemble a list of movies for the year but I'm 100% open to suggestions, if there's one particular movie or show you've been meaning to check out, let me know and we'll do it next. The guy's got a long and interesting filmography so there's plenty to pick from.

I'm tired. I want good things to start happening to me, and not because I "worked hard for them" or whatever. I want good things to happen to me just cuz. I'm tired.

Aside from everything that's happened I've also been without internet at home for 2 days, relying on phone data... So clearly nobody is suffering as much as I am 🥺

I spent my night finishing season 1 of Stargate SG1 and getting really into Jack/Daniel and doing nothing else. Not even sleeping!

Funny thing is I was kinda lukewarm on the ship until Daniel met parallel universe General O'Neill, and woof. I still like regular O'Neill but that one truly opened my eyes.

When you don't know whether you missed the opportunity of a lifetime OR dodged a bullet and saved yourself from commiting a serious social blunder...

This was my first time drawing a character who I would put in my top 10 hottest characters ever, so there's no excuse for why it took me so long.

Some sketches of my Lavellan rogue I drew months ago when I replayed Inquisition (and a screenshot so you know what he looks like).

The whole conceit of the character was that he's a natural redhead who dyes his hair black, and once he gets together with Iron Bull there's a dramatic reveal... But by the time I was supposed to change his hair color, I was so married to the look that I decided to retcon that lmao.

(Well he's still IS a redhead but I'm gonna pretend Iron Bull's response to the reveal would be "don't stop dyeing it for me, you wear your hair how YOU like it", so he kept it black)

Iron Bull's "romance" disappointed me the first time I played it, but I realize now that maybe he just didn't mesh well with the character I played back then. So this one, Alris, was designed for Iron Bull and the kind of relationship he offers. He's an assassin edgelord who absolutely licks his daggers for dramatic effect. And I love him.

I painted this in june while I was recovering from covid. First time trying gouache (i tried many techniques in college but somehow missed gouache, always wanted to try it). Greatly enjoyed it. Haven't painted anything else since then because i'm depressed.
