Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper makes his prime time debut next week with a much-hyped cameo appearance on Citytv’s Murdoch Mysteries, a detective show beloved by the PM and his daughter Rachel. In next Wednesday’s episode, Mr. Harper will saunter onto the set in the character of Desk Sergeant Armstrong, a “seemingly imperceptive man who ironically doesn’t recognize Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier when he walks into Station 4,” Citytv said in a press release issued Wednesday. The cameo, which election followers might’ve seen during Citytv’s campaign interview with the prime minister back in April, casts Mr. Harper as a hockey fan in the detective series set in the 1890s, allowing him to slip into a little game-talk with another character on screen.
