Magawa, a rat trained to detect landmines, retired in 2021 after five years of service. During his career, he helped clear more than 20 football fields’ worth of land in Cambodia, significantly contributing to the safety of local communities.

His work earned him several accolades, including a prestigious award from the UK veterinary charity PDSA.

love watching war movies because every one i have seen so far always has at least one scene with big, usually black, sometimes wet. trench rats,

their usually on dead bodies eating them or running on the side of the trench.

but the thing is with how calm they are you can tell they are just well loved ratty actors:))

i love it. i love seeing rats in movies.

(bonus one of my rats Hades, he would be a wonderful trench rat in a war movie)

sometimes when I tell people I have pet rats they’re like ew gross yikes I’m scared of rats and it’s really hard to emphasize just how utterly pathetic these creatures are. like. look at him:
