So I've heard of the BOTW Submas AU being here! ...I've never played BOTW, but I've definitely played Zelda! May have to make my own Zelda/Submas AU as well! ;w; If I were in the reader's place in this AU, I would definitely romance Ingo and be just friendos w Emmet. ;w; ...may have to check out your BOTW writings when I have the chance! If I'm allowed to make a request, what if the reader had a friendly monster that tagged along with them? maybe reader falls in love w Ingo and is friends w Emmet? and the monster sidekick is a mask-mimic/Shyguy? Thank u whether ur write anything or not lol.
I went with a runt Lizalfos
-
-
From outsiders, you’re an odd group.
The hero.
The quiet, grinning man.
The stoic loud worry wot.
And a small monster, happily following.
You confuse villagers and townsfolk everywhere you go.
It’s always you walking in first, Ingo trailing right behind you, then Emmet and your small lizard friend, likely arguing.
But at camp, it’s different, it’s like a home you’ve never had before.
Though something is different, something has changed, and you aren’t sure what it is.
You tried making sure your feelings weren’t visible, the last thing you wanted was anyone to notice.
But you’re worried as to way Ingo sits further away from you, usually he’s sits at your side, right along side fang.
The runt Lizalfo had taken a liking to you, and followed you everywhere, acting more like a cat than anything.
Or as Emmet calls him, an ankle biter.
The lizard sleeps against your leg, as you rest by the fire. You stare into the flames, trying to figure out why Ingo sits away from you.
Emmet sits by his brother, grin as wide as ever, with a knowing look.
One that makes Ingo look towards the ground.
You sit on the opposite side, so you’re far enough away.
But Ingo finds it hard to take his eyes off of you.
The glow of the fire dancing across your skin, lighting up your eyes.
You look like a deity sitting before him.
He only looks away, knowing Emmet is smiling with intent.
You’re always so kind to them, you even allowed them to travel with you!
Yet you were so hard to read, he couldn’t tell if you felt the same as him or not.
He can hardly sit near you without his heart pounding.
You have him wrapped around your finger, and you don’t even know it.
Emmet does.
Emmet sees how you two are.
His best friend and brother, in love with each other! And don’t even know it! Oh he wants to laugh, he wants to tease Ingo for crushing on the hero, of all people.
But he needs to get you two together! He can’t handle hearing his brother ramble on, and on, and on about you at night.
If it wasn’t for that ankle biting lizard at your side, it would’ve been a done deal by now.
“Emmet, you’re glaring.”
Your voice snaps him out of it. He laughs awkwardly and waves you off, letting you go back to day dreaming.
Ingo side eyes his twin, his pointed ears twitching in annoyance.
“Sorry.” Emmet’s smile waivers.
The younger twin waits until you get up to make your rounds, you always check the surrounding area for monsters one last time, Fang following you happily.
Emmet leans to his brother.
“When will you make a move?”
Ingo chokes on air.
“W-what!?”
“Oh you know, you and the hero!”
The older twin looks away, his blush reaching his ears.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Me and the hero have nothing going on, we are just friends.”
Emmet rolls his eyes, groaning at the obvious lie.
“I don’t knooow, you got pretty upset at the shopkeep flirting with them.”
He leans back laughing at the offended sounds Ingo lets out, unable to make any words.
Cause he knows his brother is right, he was so angry, so hurt.
You’re a catch! You’re amazing! He knows anyone would be lucky to have you. But you’re also the hero, the princess’s personal champion, of course many want you.
Why would you settle for a weird builder like him?
“Just admit it! Ingo loves the hero, Ingo loves the hero!” Emmet chants, poking his brother.
Ingo groans loudly, hiding his bright red face in his hands.
“Stop! They might hear you!” The older twin tries to curl in of himself.
Trying to protect himself from his twin’s taunting.
But he’s right.
They are unaware you stand just behind, having gotten done with your rounds a while ago.
You stare at the two, eyes wide and face slowly heating up.
Ingo loves you? Like you love him?
You feel like you’re on cloud nine, knowing he feels the same away.
The lizalfo at your side tilts his head, looking rapidly between you and the twins.
Running towards them, jumping around them, joining Emmet in his movements.
The two freeze.
Realizing that if Fang is back, then so are you.
“Sorry.” Emmet whispers, hoping you hadn’t heard what he was saying.
Ingo doesn’t move, terrified of seeing your uninterested face.
It’s a face he’s seen so many times when others flirt with you, he doesn’t want to see it directed at him.
You walk forward, not saying anything. You sit down right next to Ingo, your shoulders pressed together.
You lean more on Ingo as you mess and poke with the fire.
Ingo can’t believe it, his voice caught in his throat.
He tries to move away, only for you to grab his arm and yank him back down, his back against your chest.
“Stay….please.”
Your soft voice makes him melt against you.
“Okay.” He squeaks out.
He can’t believe this is happening!
Ignoring Emmet’s silently cheering with Fang, who has no idea what’s going on.
Ingo closes his eyes and relaxes into you.
He could stay like this forever.
