Mid-week Musings
My thoughts having finished Red Dead Redemption 2.
(SPOILERS AHEAD!)
What. An. Amazing. Game.
Rockstar surely cannot be beaten when it comes to creating a world and telling a story. Arthur Morgan has to go down as one of my favourite characters from any game I've played.
The game is a slow build for sure, but that only helps as you spend so much time moulding Arthur to the way you want to play him. Trying to complete the side quests, honour missions and companion activities brings so much more development to the player character. When Arthur was diagnosed with TB it was a real gut punch, despite expecting something from story cues. Then playing on in the game not knowing how he would go out was a tense affair.
By the end of the game, every one of Arthur’s acts is one of kindness as he seeks some kind of forgiveness for his past. As the player, you (or at least in my case) feel compelled to honour this and give him the redemption he needs. This is a testament to the excellent story telling and it really had a massive hold on me.
I did have a little trouble with the epilogue. It was too long and took too long to setup for the story from the original Red Dead Redemption. Playing as John was fun but I still wanted to explore the world with Arthur, the character I had spent so much time with.
Anyway, a fantastic game, one of the best I have ever played. I am at 89% completion but don't think there is much else I'm desperate to do. I'll have a little go on red dead online, but I'm very happy with the memories the game has given me. Thank you Rockstar.
Thanks for reading. What did you think of the game/characters/ending? Let me know...
RIP Arthur Morgan

First Blog Post!
So, this is my first foray into blog writing. Just an excuse to write about my experiences with the games I play.
Mainly as I have just finished Red Dead Redemption 2 and man, did I enjoy that game! Also, I purchased a PS4Pro very recently and have a lot of games on that platform to catch up on; such as God of War (many people’s choice for goty) which I will be playing next.
No idea how often I’ll post or exactly what I’ll post, but thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy what you find.
