Now I don’t know if any other Jews have recently seen that Piers Morgan segment featuring “Dan Bilzerian” but oh boy…
I’m not one to call out antisemitism when it comes to politics revolving around Israel and Palestine, as I often feel it puts a bigger target on my back as a Jew-ish person (mind you the target is very much already there). However, the propaganda they have featured on this very large television station is absolutely appalling to me. Even looking at it on social media really just confirms how quickly everyone is to jump on the Jew hate train.
To remain down to earth, I’m obviously not that surprised as it is Piers Morgan… but the man featured has nazi rhetoric that he is able to throw to a larger audience, and they just eat it up.
I’m going to link the video here
It’s a bite sized clip but make of it what you will, I wouldn’t recommend watching if youre already in a bad headspace about this situation

Happy first day of the war on Christmas everyone
Yearly reminder to gentiles that
1. Jews do not recognize Jesus as anything but a human man who probably existed in some capacity at some point
2. We do not celebrate his birthday. He is just some guy to us.
3. It is not a personal attack on you if we don’t celebrate your favorite holiday.
4. Chanukah is not the most important Jewish holiday, its just the only one you know by name because it happens roughly around Christmas time.
5. You can say or do whatever you want, we just think you’re annoying. At the end of the day, you’re still gonna get school or work off on Christmas and Easter while I have to chose between my religion and my schoolwork every year on Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah.
6. You are not the victim. However, unfortunately you are usually the main character.

I'm in a Judaism theology class at the moment, taught by a reform rabbi. He spends a substantial amount of time letting us all know that really, reform is the best and completely disses all things orthodox.
But- he keeps on bringing in Orthodox guest speakers who in turn disses reform.
And of course, to non-Jewish students, this is shocking. To me, this feels like just another Shabbat dinner.

Goyim love to say things like, “How did people let the Holocaust happen?” And there are a lot of possible answers to that question. Some believe that the average citizen of the Nazi Empire simply didn’t know about the camps. Others say that the average citizen opposed the regime, but they were deterred by their government or the fear of being killed. And some believe that it was some kind of perfect storm or one-time-glitch, that those people from that place just happened to be uniquely predisposed to evil, and that it can never happen again.
This is almost always accompanied by some variation on the phrase, “If I had been there, I wouldn’t have.”
Not even a hundred years later, Jews across the world are being targeted for destruction by both White Supremacists and Jihadist Islamists. Both weaponize the same ideologies and tactics that the Nazis used, and both happily embrace the Nazi legacy. Both are emboldened, not disgusted, by the nearly unprecedented increase in antisemitic hate crimes. They are openly calling for our death in our streets and our subways and our political offices.
And yes, in some countries, they are met with opposition by the average citizen. In some countries, decent and caring and inclusive people stand up for us. And in some countries, they win. But not all the time. When they lose, you have to reconcile with the truth:
The Holocaust didn’t happen because the average person in Eastern Europe failed to stop the Nazis. The Holocaust happened because the average person in Eastern Europe was a Nazi. And if the average person is a Nazi in any other nation, at any other time, it will happen again.

People will really be like "citizens aren't their governments and don't deserve to be punished for the actions of extremist politicians— unless it's a country that I personally don't like, then every citizen deserves to be tortured and murdered 🥰"

I just think being Jewish shouldn’t be scary.
My rabbi shouldn’t cry because they’re so afraid that something will happen to the congregation while they’re away on leave and they won’t be there to help keep us safe.
We shouldn’t be afraid to leave the safety doors in the sanctuary after services end.
We shouldn’t need multiple armed security personnel at every service.
We shouldn’t be this afraid.
I’m so tired.
