Legolas is an only child...
I once read a post somewhere about how Legolas most likely had older siblings that weren't mentioned at any point, since the King and Queen of Mirkwood were bound to have more kids. Or something along those lines. A lot of it's missing in my head, but I remember the biggie. May I present this:
Legolas was the beginning of those kids they were going to have.
Thranduil and the Queen of Mirkwood planned on having more kids, but it didn't work out that way. The Queen was taken and killed so Legolas ended up being an only kid.
