Hey World!
Hi.  I decided to create this tumblr to share good things.  Things feel dark, very dark right now.  The uncertainty that we are all living with is imparting a heavy toll on our individual well being.  Even me, the introvert is struggling with quarantine. My days are filled with madly searching for resources, to understand the world and this new normal. I find myself missing busy streets and cafes while being simultaneously revolted.  Weird hun?
For most of us, this is our first quarantine.  Its a hard fact.  For people like me (those who are immunocomrpomised) this feels like a double Fuck You.  I’ve been stuck in my house before due to pain, but this time feels different.  It feels more terrifying.  Can’t believe I’m saying that considering my medical history. But there it is - fear is pervasuive.  It’s ugly and unpredictable.
The best I can hope for at this time, is that people listen, that we plank the shit out of this curve, that we overcome and that we carry on.
I think we have big questions to ask ourselves.  Not just about health care, but about how we organize our societies and how we can make them better.
I read a tweet this week that perfectly summed up our joint existential angst. It’s a tweet by Richard Dawkins, who some might say is a polarizing figure, but who I call a friend, in it he quotes Edward O Wilson.
“The real problem of humanity is the following: we have paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions, and god-like technology” (2009).
