Tumblr media
Oops! You are in desperate need of emergency plumbing and you don't have a clue as to what you should do. As a homeowner, there are some important things that you can do to at least solve any immediate problems. Don't despair because the things that you can do are easy and will fix the problem until you can hire a plumber to permanently solve your annoying plumbing problem.
Until your plumber arrives, you can stop your toilet from overflowing and limit or stop the water that is sprouting from one of your pipes. Flooding of any kind is no fun at all and it can do extensive damage if the problem isn't fixed - and quick!
Whenever you experience water leakage, go immediately to your water shut-off valve and TURN IT OFF. By doing so, you will stop wasting valuable water and you will be able to stop any further damage from occurring in your home, basement or garage. During freezing weather, be sure to cover any outside pipes with some type of insulation material to keep the water flowing within them. If your pipes are already frozen, thaw them slowing by using a hairdryer.
