Is this guy the reverse James Jamerson? Where he is pro-spider anti-cop? Please someone gives this guy a talk show XD

The new Spider-Man video game came out for PlayStation 4 last week, and I was eager to spend a chunk of my weekend playing it. Some things I immensely enjoyed during my few hours of play time: web swinging, jumping off buildings, web swinging, whispering “whoa, that looks just like the real Empire State Building,” and web swinging. One thing I definitely did not enjoy is how the game turns Spider-Man into a friggin’ cop!
Granted, I am only a few hours into the game, but so far the primary objective boils down to Help The Cops. Not just any cops, either, but the NYPD specifically, because the game takes place in a true-to-life rendering of New York City. It’s dumb to expect video games to be responsible reflections of real life, but it is also impossible, for me at least, to not feel some ickiness about the game forcing me into cahoots with even a fictionalized version of the NYPD, an organization that routinely oppresses some of the most vulnerable residents of the city I live in.
I’m not grasping for as many straws as it may appear. Spider-Man doesn’t just help the cops by catching armed robbers and putting deranged super villains in jail, he helps them maintain a high-tech, citywide surveillance network. One of the ongoing missions in the game is to have Spider-Man repair NYPD operated (and Oscorp-constructed) surveillance towers that stand atop various buildings throughout the city. When these towers are repaired they allow the NYPD to monitor all citizens within a certain radius of the tower, and for Spider-Man to get real-time updates on happenings within the city via an uplink with the towers.
This is a game mechanic that will be familiar to anyone who has played an open-world RPG in the last decade. What the towers functionally do is reveal areas of the game map to players so that they can find additional missions and collectibles. But it isn’t strictly a game mechanic, it’s also a narrative choice, and one that comes with some pretty obvious real-life parallels. The NYPD buying cutting edge equipment and software from a shady tech company owned by a billionaire with, uh, maniacal tendencies so that it can monitor and collect data on citizens is a dystopian yet sensible video game plot point. It’s also literally something that happened in the real New York City.
Spider-Man deserves better than to be allied with such forces. A big part of the character’s appeal is that he is just as much under the thumb of the city as the people he tries to help. He’s from a shattered family, he works multiple jobs, he can’t pay his bills, he’s stressed out all the time. He’s not a hero who swoops down from on high in order to save the commoners from themselves, he is a commoner. Therein rests everything that is inspiring about the character; he’s just a guy who wants to make life better for the people who are dealing with the same struggles he is.
What this new game does is put Spider-Man up on a perch where he doesn’t belong. He’s no longer performing heroic deeds out of just the goodness of his heart, but also for the purpose of solidifying the existing power structure’s grip on the city. Again, this is how the first few hours of the game works, and maybe there is a forthcoming plot twist in which Spider-Man realizes that he no longer wants to be an agent of the state. All I know is that it kind of sucks to play a game in which Spider-Man, in the process of beating up some drug dealers, taunts them by yelling, “If you just got real jobs you wouldn’t have to work so hard at being criminals!”

Nintendo doesn’t have to listen to it, those who want melee again over new and a little different are vastly out numbered by the fans who wants ultimate or doesn’t care either way.

You just don’t want them to make a liveable wage and have healthcare and be treated like proper human beings.

Hypocrisy aside for a moment, I love how she mentions how the people running these sites have been hiding this content and/or misinforming without mentioning how they are doing this or evidence to support it. On top of that she so slyly lumps the “figureheads of the community” in with them. I can only guess by what she means by figureheads is referring to the big names of the community such as a good chunk of the analyst crew, but I can’t be too sure. This video is all about meet the new pedo-enablers which inherently isn’t bad but I take issue how she might be misinforming people with what I mentioned earlier. (oh hey we are back to hypocrisy)
To say that this is an outrage would be an understatement! First of all, Orchard, you have no right to call out people for reading stories that contain child pornography, when YOU YOURSELF wrote a story just like that (Stockholm).
Secondly, you only mentioned 2 people who posted content like that. There are A LOT of people in the MLP fanfic reading community who are completely harmless. There’s Scribbler, TheLostNarrator, Gina M, GutiuSerenade, Emogak (Kagome), Wuten, Magpiepony, Dr. Wolf, etc.. Yeah, some of their content may not be appropriate for children, but that’s just because they’re eithert Grimdark, contain inappropriate language, or Clopfics (between consenting adult characters).
HOW FUCKING DARE YOU ORCHARD!!!! >:( >:(

Yeah that really bugged me, Lily didn’t say anything until the first video with the disclaimer showed. She never said anything when 48 and 49 went up but I know the fans did. She didn’t say anything when the video explain the future of Brony D&D went up and that was about a month gap before episode 50 went up. Did she just wait so she can just just demonize the whole thing? I wouldn’t be surprised.

With the toon drama being still debated to this day, I happen to stumble upon tweets by a person name snowcanine. Now this is a response from Josh’s tweet about the C&D and here is the start of the chain here. Now as expecting this person has been pretty much already have the mind set of how lily is the one speaking out while josh is the one censoring. Ya that is off to a great start considering that all these point are debunk when they aren’t hiding toon and they are not even pretending it never happen on the account that they are on high alert of toon’s discord server antics. But one tweet did catch my eye and it would be this one.
Because its a half measure if you don’t remove him entirely. As for Lily, she talk to him about it and he opened with saying that he would take down the videos. Lily has been consistent about her position, stop uploading the videos. Josh is the one going back and forth on this.
I’m sorry but HOW IS LILY EVEN FUCKING CONSISTENT!? Her morals keep changing with every single day and you think josh is the one who is a the more consistent one? I’m sorry but that is just bullshit. Every day, josh and friends have been trying to handle the drama and talking to the victims to keep this from going out of control and people like you seem to think that lily’s choices or just out right removing something is so easy to do. Newsflash it isn’t. Geez how is this keep on going for so long.

I find this to be stooping to Lily’s level here, so I doubt it is going to help anyone other than galvanize her.

Points well made, I apologize for just throwing my thoughts out there without looking at the full scope of things. I believe i had tunnel vision was because Lilly, Josh and Wolf had been put in the spotlight as it were. There was so much negativity going around that i just got caught up in it myself. I was so fend up of it that I felt I had to vent and then tag it in case anyone found some worth in my words. In all honesty I thought I’d just be another angry voice in a crowd, I never expected to have 90 notes related to this post alone. I’m sorry if my words have upset or even hurt anyone. Eliyora, Segasister, and Lunacorva, I’m sure it must be difficult to be pretty much in the center of all this (or at least very close) with close friends being scrutinized and/or harassed. For what it may be worth to you, I’m sorry if i just added to that. To everyone that is trying their best to make the community better despite what Lily (or what I’m saying) and helping the victims any way they can, Thank you.
I will try to widen my tunnel vision if i can see if i can do so.
You know I’m pretty convinced that Lily Peet or Lily Orchard (as she calls herself now) would rather put more effort into tearing into people like the Brony D&D group and her detractors. Outside of Buttons, Patchwork and apparently 5 other anonymous victims, she has done more to call out, put down and even accuse those that MAY have done something that contributed to their pain. “She has a discord to help them” I may hear you say. Well at one point I would have believed that it did help people who has suffered from abuse, heck I even mentioned it to some of my friends that has suffered from similar forms of a abuse thinking it may help them when surrounded by people who could relate to them. I later found out one my friends did so, paid $1 to Lily’s Patreon, (cause that was the only form of lily’s discord they could find) got the link and told their story as well as talked to those that came on the for the same reason. That lasted for about a week before they were kicked out and blocked with out any warning, their story unheard. They didn’t even think anyone had the chance to read it let alone talk to her about it. Granted this is all hearsay and I wouldn’t expect you to believe all this but to me they are a very well trusted friend and I have no reason to doubt her.As far as I could find out is that Lily has upped security on who gets her discord link due to “Rift members” that are her detractors don’t get in and harass. Personally i’m very doubtful of that, in light of what has happened to my friend.
Now one thing that does irk me further is that there is no video that could properly educate the uneducated on how to help those that have suffered from abuse and with link that could educated further. But no she’d rather just call out and accuse that to just simply make this world a little better. Well done Lily you have shown us the problem and told us that we are doing it wrong, if you think you know better then FUCKING TEACH US. or would rather lord it over us so you can always say you are the better person in all this? seriously i know she has a pretty big platform so use it not just to call out but to educate instead of just wasting your time and effort trying to tear down a group of people stubbornly refusing to listen to you cause you sent your fans after them to make false flags and bully them and their fans. Outside of ignoring you what have they done? They don’t send their fan base against you when you do something they don’t like. You ignore victims that defend them and/or indifferent to the whole thing. IT’S SMALL POTATOES IN LIGHT OF EVERYTHING!!! But no you just go ahead and keep fighting a pointless battle where a small problem is louder than the victims that are trying to move on with their lives. But hey they aren’t exempt from this either this Brony group do have big platforms themselves, why not make videos that can educate on how to help these victim as well as others? with plenty of research and effort it could be a big step to bring what is properly a broken community that is fractured to heal once again and unite. Personally I’m tired of all the finger pointing, what more is there left? I think it’s time for the fandom and more importantly the victims to heal and move on.

The Grand Illusion Fades
First post and its about a pedophile and MLP....     great. SInce ToonKriticY2K (a brony analyst on Youtube) was outed as a pedophile, the MLP fandom has lost a grand illusion (atleast for me) that everyone in it can be friends and does their best to treat others fairly. with everyone point fingers at one another saying or rather shouting they did not do enough to help the victims of Toon or accusing others of supporting a pedophile cause *insert reason here*. This on top of that has outed some upsetting things about some of the big names in the MLP analyst community. Most of which featuring Joshscourcher/Firebrand, Dr.Wolf and SIlverQuil saying  that they either defending Toon and/or care more about their content over the victims they might be hurt with some of their content. (more on that later) When Toon was first outed it was like nearly every brony with a Youtube channel had to put in their two cents for one reason or another some for very good reasons like they were once close friends of Toon or that they were a victim of Toon’s sketchy behavior and abuse. Some wished for Toon to pay for what he has done while others hoped that he would get better and do better. I understand that this bring a ton of mixed feelings and very unique perspectives on how to handle such a situation. Even more so very heightened feelings when you learn someone was grooming a minor as well as harassing and abusing  others for their own pleasure. So can accept that some want things to go back to normal as if it never happened. I can accept that other want to fight for all the victims that didn’t have or don’t have the power or help to speak up for themselves. As for the content creators it put them in a difficult position with their projects featuring Toon. Should one get rid of all projects with Toon in past present and future? What about a series that still have him in it? Should that continue or be scraped? Should you let one person destroy all that hard work? Should i keep the victims happy or my fans happy? Can i do both? To me their are no easy answers or one size fits all solution. And i can see to some extent that everyone is doing what they think is the right thing to do. But at the same time they haven’t. This brings me to a series called “Brony D&D”. A series where a group of brony analysts get together and play D&D 3rd edition with Joshscorcher as the Gamemaster. I enjoy the interactions between the players, how they role-play their characters along side with Josh’s storytelling and writing. The problem is one of the players is ToonKriticY2K. the series started well before Toon was outed as a Pedophile and was heavily prerecorded. So when the time came that Toon was outed it brought up the question for many fans of the series what was going to happen to it now? With it being prerecorded and being posted in parts, the videos that were posted were 14 videos behind the current session. 14 video left to post most of them featuring Toon. there were plans to write Toon out of the series but that still left what to do with the rest of the videos. The options the group had were; stop the series and maybe start over, skip to the part where Toon is written out, or continue the series anyway. What they did choose to do however was continue posting but with a disclaimer and at much faster pace, have a recap video for those who don’t want to deal with Toon and informed everyone which part Toon is written out of. To me this seem to be an attempt to please the victims and and fans who don’t want to lose out on story and i thought that was a clever compromise. The disclaimer would give a chance for people to opt out of the video if they don’t want to hear Toon’s voice and the recap video would still allow them to know what happened in the story although in less detail. At this point two episodes have been released with this disclaimer and at first it seemed pretty good until a Youtuber Lily Peet posted her video saying how their solution was lazy and hurts the victims of Toon. Lily Peet is or was (i dont know which) part of the Brony Analyst community and close friends with Josh until they fell out with both of them saying that the other was a lier and an abuser. Lily post videos critquing shows and other Youtubers while also ranting about the MLP fandom  and point out many injustices she come across. In this case Lily was pointing out the complacency of the Analyst community in the face of Toon’s crimes as well as the lack of support given to his victims due to most videos of bronies giving their two cents focused about how they felt. (not that I’m much better but i need to vent and feel heard right now) Most of this is all well and good, I just have a problem with her method in delivering justice. In the case of Brony D&D she out right told her viewers to attack the videos with comments and flagging, just because she didn’t agree with their solution to a problem that had no perfectly good answers. Though Lily did reveal that Josh said he wasn’t going to post the videos featuring Toon only to then get into a call with one of Toon’s victims (Patchwork Heart) and dogpile her trying to get her blessing to post the videos. This poor girl was already exhausted from the whole ordeal involving Toon and Josh just come along and pressures her to understanding him just so he can say he kept his moral code. She never gave her permission or blessing though Josh goes and tells everyone he did. I found all this out after a little bit of digging into Josh’s tumblr, Lily’s video about her dislike of brony d&d, Brony d&d part 51 comment section and Patchwork’s twitter.
This whole thing shakes me to my very core to the point that people I once respected I only now look at them with doubt and uncertainty of their intentions. A community that i once believe celebrated Love and tolerance, I now see a community of potential manipulators and smiling facades. I happy place I would get lost in now has a seedy dark form under it’s surface that i can never unsee. and as for the victims of Toon they should have been heard sooner. If you have failed to help them before work to help them now. Don’t just be a voice for them, i believe it’s help better to be there for them than shout for them. Lend a sympathetic ear and help them through what has happened and give them something to look forward to. http://www.safetotalk.org.uk/professionals/good-practice-guidelines-when-supporting-a-victim-of-domestic-violence-and-abuse/ https://abuseintervention.org/help/friend-family/
