Amelia was the one who everyone thoughts was a wildcard when she came to Seattle. Having the last name Shepherd, she has a lot to live up to considering who her brother was. Derek was one of the best and Amelia has in her head she is better then him. Her stats say she was, but her reckless past really just allows everyone to think she can't do it. But Seattle, she wanted to make new memories and that is when she got the job at the hospital who knew her brother more then her. But she was making new memories.
Sure she got a divorce from Owen, the man who she thought she wanted to be with, but it turned out it was just something she couldn't get past with the brain tumor. Then she met Link and thinks were different. Their first night together was more then she had anticipated and that meant for the two of them to get to know one another. But she also knew that news travels fast and she has been playing hard to get. She has been playing as if she wasn't interested but something about him was different and in a good way. Better then anyone else she has been with. But she also knows she hasn't been single for that long, but sometimes that is something you can't help and she knew she couldn't run from all of this forever, over one failed relationship in this place.
But one thing Amelia doesn't do it just tell someone all about her. She knows she has to keep some sort of mystery, being everyone knows her past, and knows she wasn't always the one who had herself together. But Link, he would know in due time if that is what he wanted. That is why she agreed to dinner with him and letting him see a side of her that wasn't perfect and surgeon mode because maybe that is the side he could determined if he liked or not. Maybe going out with him wouldn't stop her from thinking about her mistakes when she had her own brain tumor.
"I don't know, because I clearly wasn't thinking straight when I said I could get it out, because I don't even remember how I got it out. I don't even remember the surgery. What if something else went wrong, and she didn't make it off the table? These are the things I think about. All the time, and it is frustrating. Just having Derek as a brother, it really doesn't help that everyone wants to compare me to him, when I know I am different. Herman's tumor, it comes around once in a lifetime, and I took it out, but I blinded her. That alone makes me realize, i did it, but it wasn't the result I wanted, but it was more then what she thought."
She doesn't know why she let this all out, she was sure Link didn't want to hear all of this, but she let it out and it has been bothering her. Maybe another surgeon can help her come to terms with some of the things that have been on her mind. But having Derek as a brother, she was sure everyone knew that is why she was shocked when he said he didn't know who he was. "I don't know how much of that i believe, but I will ride with it and let you compliment me more." A small laugh was heard before she got all serious again. "Just, i think you getting to know me, and not having this perceived thought about me helps. Because everyone knows me as this or that, and I just need someone who doesn't want me for this or this, but wants me for me. Owen and I, we just didn't work, and I think I married him because I honestly wasn't thinking clearly, with the brain tumor and all. So, that alone, I felt bad, but have to do what is best for me you know?"

Amelia knew she was not like anyone else. When she had her tumor, one she didn’t know she had until she did the research Carina was doing. She thinks they might have been the one thing that had made her make the decisions he has made up until this point of her life. Amelia knew marrying Owen might have bene due to the tumor and her just feeling like it was the right thing to do. Now, the two of them were barely talking and they were never on the same page. They have never been on the same page, so it was all a mess. Now she was free the tumor and really just learning to live without the rash decisions for the most part.
That is what made her want to go out the night before and she was looking for anything, but Link, well he kind of caught her eye and there she was sleeping with him the night. Not that Amelia thought it meant anything, it was all about releasing the stress of the job and just everything else that was going on. He was something else and it was all good things being he wasn’t like most guys she had went for. That might be why most of them didn’t work out. Ryan was the one she thought she loved but turned out it was just the drugs talking on that one. Owen was the tumor.
Not that Amelia was looking to sleep with Link, but it jus happened and she wasn’t complaining. But what she didn’t expect was to see him at work so soon. It was all about her just getting to the point where she can look at him and now, she was going on a date with him. It took her sometime to agree, but she had no one holding her back but herself and not really seeing where things could lead. She has done that for far too long when it came to people because she was afraid tor really just let them see who she really was. But Link, he never rushed her but she felt this pull and so she had to see what it was about before turning him down and not seeing just where this could go. So was she crazy, maybe but she wanted to just get out and be with someone who didn’t like her for what she does but more for who she is and who they want to know.
But when she got in that car she wasn’t expecting the music that was blaring from the speakers to come out. Not that she as judging, but she was just shocked and had to poke fun at him and the laugh coming from her said it all. She just wasn’t expecting that but Link was different and she can why now too. Amelia’s ears perk up hearing he has chaps and boots and she couldn’t help but smirk. “So — you really do own chaps. How did I know? I mean, you seem kind of like that guy outside of work, but I have to see them. I really do. Because I have to see this for my own eyes being I have never seen that. So, yes, put me on that list please. I need to see it.”
Laughing low and getting to the table for dinner and she was taken back by the place he chose and she sat across form him finally letting the facade cave and letting him see a glimpse of her and why she is the way she is. Her brother was one of her favorite people and yet he was no longer there and she didn’t really know how to comprehend that a lot, but she has come to terms and able to talk about it. “I didn’t get to say goodbye because Meredith took that away from me. She told no one, and she just made the choice without calling me. So that alone made me mad. She is his wife, but I am his family you know? It took so long for me to actually forgive her in a way. But I will never get that chance again and it just makes me mad in a way. So that is why her and I have an understanding but it doesn’t mean I will trust her with things.”
This is the first time Amelia had been open about that and really just telling someone. Maybe he wasn’t the right person, but since they were on the topic she might as well get it all out. “You really are a sweet talking aren’t you? You know how to make someone smile, and that alone makes me feel better then I have in so long. There’s a lot about me and m y life that people don’t know. So, you make me feel like I am in the place I am supposed to be.” Smiling and meeting his eyes she finally looks down at the menu wondering what she should get from this place. “So what do you suggest to eat in this place? I have never eaten here and want to try one of the best things here.”

Amelia was really trying to find herself again. When she came to Seattle, she was finally clean after being the wild child in her family. She was an addict at one point, and really worked hard. But no one really knew who she was, because the person she is now, and the person she was then are two totally different people. Though, she did know some people thanks to her brother Derek and letting her meet everyone. But it wasn't without a little competition. So Link, when she went home with him, it wasn't supposed to be anything more. It was more just them having fun. But then, things happened and here they were. He was like someone she hasn't met before.
Link was different from everyone she has been with. Ryan was the complete opposite and just wanted to get her high and not deal with the world. Then there was Owen when she got there, and things weren't perfect either. At the time Amelia had a brain tumor. She wasn't sure what was going on at the time, so she knew things with them were only the way they were because of the tumor. She wasn't sure what else to do. People started talking as soon as Amelia and Link were seen close in the hallway. But he was new and didn't know anyone, and she was there to help him. But no one has to know about their night before because it is no ones business. But she was okay with those whispers. Just not towards anything else she has done. That is why Amelia agreed to go on a date with him. Away from the hospital and just the two of them.
Getting to know Link, and no one to judge. She felt she could be open with him and tell him things not a lot of people know. She figured if he was going to get to know him she figured she would make that first move. "Trust me, I don't think I want to relive that. It wasn't fun. The surgery wasn't bad either. Just, it took a lot just ironic how a brain tumor got me and I am a brain surgeon." Plus Amelia was a workaholic and she didn't want to really admit that, but maybe being laid in that hospital bed was a blessing in disguise because it made her cherish life a little more, which is why she took the jump and agreed to tonight. She figured she would try because he has been patient and allowed her to dictate everything in this part.
But of course being surgeons, they talk about work and the one thing she is really happy about but also not sure if she should be, is the surgery of Nicole Herman. Amelia is still to a point where she doesn't even know how she did it. Everyone said it is a miracle. But she lost her vision and Amelia can't help but think of that but she knows her being alive is better then her being able to see. "Just how do I even know I didn't do something wrong. I know she said she couldn't live if she kept it, and she is alive, but she lost her vision? Those are the things I question. And I know I shouldn't but I do." She was being honest, but she can't help but laugh after that at the fact Link likes country as she never pinned him to be a cowboy of sorts, and it seems like that is what he is. "And do you ride horses on your free time?" Another laugh was heard from her as she was enjoying herself.
"Yeah, try telling someone that. We were always in competition and he didn't like I was better then him." Amelia knew everyone loved her brother and they didn't know she was better then him. But Link, he was nice and wanted her to see things she hasn't seen about herself. Seeing he has ordered Amelia looks at the waiter. "I will take the salmon and rice with the veggies please." They nodded their head and walked away and Amelia looked at him. "You don't have to suck up to me you know? You have me here, and that is all you are getting right now, so take advantage of it. I am not easy to get on a date."

Amelia had a history she wasn’t proud of. It was something that really did sit with her because that is all some people see her as and that is not who she is. She has never been that person, but it was just bad influences and getting hooked as she has been through a lot. But that is when she came to Seattle and things changed. Everyone seen her as a great brain surgeon and she was just doing her thing, until that night she slept with Link. It was a one night thing, or at least she thought it was. He was new and he was someone who was really just there for her when she needed an escape and that is jut what he was but then she felt something for him, but she was trying to deny it because she has been through a lot when it came to being with someone recently.
Rumors fly in this hospital. Amelia has learned that the hard way when it came to the fact that she relationship with Owen was put on blast and quickly known they weren’t doing too good and they weren’t really together either. So their marriage was short lived and that meant that they didn’t have to shy away from being with other people, because Amelia had slept with Link. But she wanted to see where it went but she also didn’t want to be the one to move fast, so they were going at a pace that was good for the both of them. But, they were going on a date. Something that Amelia hasn’t done in a while. Even with Owen as she had a tumor and rushed into marriage instead of getting to know him better then she did before she married him.
But she was willing to take this chance with him if it meant they go at a pace that they were both happy with. Amelia was worried about what others might say about him, and what they might say about the two of them. But she didn’t care anymore, she has been through too much to really care what others might think about things and what they might think about what she does and what she doesn’t do. But she was just healthy and she wasn’t hiding the fact she was a brain surgeon who had a brain tumor and she had lived through it and got through it without a hitch for the most part. “I just — I don’t know, I find it ironic that I am a brain surgeon you know? And I had a brain tumor that could have killed me if I didn’t catch it when I did. I was doing a study for another surgeon and that is when I seen it. It is weird if you ask me, but I guess good because here I am.”
She looked over at him and something about him made her want to be different and made her want to try this, but she was scared if she was being honest. Her marriage with Owen didn’t end well, and now she was fighting to really understand what this was with him. But she took her job seriously and knew if she could survive and even Nicole Herman at this point, then she could do anything to make a difference. “That is the thing, I did this impossible surgery on another surgeon when I had the brain tumor and I am lucky she only lost her vision. I am not sure if it was my tumor telling me it was possible or just the fact I felt I could do it. Now I am more cautious about it and don’t want to cause anything else with anyone else.” She raised her eyebrows at the comment about a cowboy hat and she shook her head with a soft laugh.
“Please, I don’t think so. I will keep it to you and I will look at you in it.” Looking at the menu one last time before placing it down and letting her eyes meet his and she felt something. Something she can’t explain, but it was something she didn’t want to lose sight of when she looked at him. “We weren’t always close. He hated me for the better lack of words when I was caught in the addiction world. We barely spoke, but then we were getting closer and I lost him, so I wanted to really make him proud of me. But I don’t think I ever got the chance, except my success rate was better then his and he kind of didn’t like me for that.” She remembers that well, but it was not all about her, she wanted to know more about Link as well.
She was impressed. He had overcome something more as well, and that was a thing they had in common, but it wasn’t always a deal breaker. “Well, I know you have shoes to fill, because everyone is talking about Callie, as if she is coming back, and she isn’t. I am sure of that. But from what I know, you are good as Bailey just doesn’t hire anyone. So, just don’t let anyone tell you, you aren’t Doctor Torres, but she left us, so now we have you.” A smile on her face and she couldn’t help but feel proud at the fact that he wasn’t too scared of Owen. “Well, you might just be my favorite person right now with that comment. That just made me all happy to know you are all for that even if he does get mad. Should we order?”

Amelia wasn’t always one who had her life together. She was the one who had to go to rehab and had to go through a lot of things to get to where she was. Amelia was just someone who needed to keep on the right track. She moved from LA to Seattle, and she had a job. When her brother was gone, and then he came back and they fought for cases when she knew she was better then him. She took more chances an that meant to just do what she does. But then he passed and now she was the head of the department and she was really just trying to stay on the right path. But then she met Link and she felt that she was just going day by day and he made her feel something she hasn’t felt in so long. The spark was there and the spark was something she couldn’t deny, but she didn’t want to be the one to fall into his arms too soon either. She was scared to if she was being honest.
She had just gotten out of a marriage, and she was trying to figure things out. But the way Link seen her, he knew it was something more then a hook up. It was something more then just being with someone. There was something there and she knew she had to see it out, but she also knew Owen would have an opinion when he didn’t have the right to. She felt the marriage only happened because she had a tumor in a brain. Not that she was going to talk more about that, but she felt Link had the right to know why she was the way she was. She decided to go on a date with Link to see just where it goes. He was nice, and he wasn’t like anyone she has been with and maybe that is what she needed to feel something and feel like she had done right thing.
Amelia wasn’t good at dating. She worked a lot, and she was just outspoken a lot more, and she had no filter sometimes, but she needed to really just try to let him in and see who she was and not the concept people have of her. But she was shocked to know Link and Jo were friends. She didn’t see that coming, but it was good to have someone, like Amelia had her sisters, and Link had Jo. “She is a good one. She is good at what she does too. I know don’t know her well, but I do know she takes what she does seriously and wants the best of her patients and that I respect because I am the same way. She is a good friend and I’m glad you have her. Really, we all need someone.” A smile on her face looking at him and seeing the same. “I wish only a few people knew about my tumor, but the whole hospital did because I had the surgery done there. But I am good now, and I am tumor free.”
She loved to say that because it was a lot to take in once she knew about it. “How ironic though right? I am a neurosurgeon and I had a brain tumor.” She found humor in that and raised her eyebrows. “As long as I don’t have to wear a cowboy hat I think you have yourself a deal. I don’t wear hats and plus a cowboy hat, I can’t pull that off.” Laughing low as she was interested in seeing Link pull off the line dancing. The restaurant was nice, something Amelia doesn’t go to often, but being there with him, it felt good. She placed the menu down and she wanted him to get to know her better. She had a lot of layers to herself. Her brother was a soft spot. Sure they had issues and they fought a lot but he was her brother and he was her older brother.
“Thank you for that. His wife didn’t even let me say goodbye, so that is something Meredith and I have fought about as well. But, I understand it now, but it doesn’t defeat the purpose of me not saying bye. We have been through a lot. He disowned me when I went through addiction because he wanted more for me. But it all started when I lost my father. I seen it happen along with Derek, so that is bond we both have that the rest of our siblings don’t have.” Amelia has never talked openly about her father, except with Derek, but Link, he deserved to know as to why she was the way she was and why somethings might be harder to talk about. Glad Link had a sense of humor because he laughed at their misfortunes.
“So, you were some big time sports guy and what brought you to the hospital if you were doing something you loved with those players? Just, I figured that would be a dream job for someone who loves sports.” She was curious why he chose the hospital over staying with the sports team and doing what he loved. Laughing. She was sure Owen didn’t like her right now. “Don’t take it personally. I am sure Owen doesn’t like me either right now. I am sure he hates I am out with you right now, but he slept with me then slept with his best friend in Germany. So, I think I am allowed to move on and be with someone who wants me and not both of us. As for another date, if tonight goes well, then I don’t think you’ll be getting rid of me.” She meant that and she wanted to see more of him but she didn’t want to get ahead of herself.

Rumors were bad in Seattle. That is one thing she missed about being in LA, the rumors weren’t as bad. Everyone asked to make sure, But Amelia knew that in Seattle, since most people didn’t know her they believed all the rumors. Amelia honestly didn’t care what people thought of her, she just knew she was good at her job and that is all that mattered at this point. She knew people knew things and wasn’t sure what got twisted, but she didn’t fix it because it made her more intimidating and she was good with that. But Link, he heard the things but didn’t take that as the truth and wanted to get to know her, more then most people wanted to.
But if people ask her if she wants something, she wasn’t sure. She was still getting over her failed marriage with Owen and why she married him. She had a tumor and she did things she didn’t want to admit, and marrying him was one of those things. Amelia doesn’t like to admit why she did somethings, but the tumor was her worst nightmare. Go figure she was a brain surgeon and she had a brain tumor. Talk about a sense of humor from the big guy when she did some questionable things before she came to Seattle, and maybe she deserve it, she wasn’t sure. But Link, he made her feel somethings, she had tried to deny it all and hoped that nothing came of it because she wasn’t sure she was ready to get hurt again.
But she did sleep with him the night before. Maybe it was just out of need for a release, or there was something more. She wasn’t sure, but it happened and now she was trying to fight something that was there as well. She wasn’t sure she was even ready, but Link, there was something about him. Something she would never admit. This date was to see where things could go. Seeing Link light and having fun, Amelia knew she could do the same thing. But she never seen him as a country loving person, but here they were and he was really serious about it all. She couldn’t help but laugh and the image that formed in her brain. Not that she will admit it, but it was quite humorous if she was being honest.
One thing Amelia didn’t know was Link knowing Jo. That was news to her. “You and Wilson are close? I never seen that coming. Don’t seem like you two would be close, but she is a good person, so I can see that as well if that makes sense.” Shaking her head with a smile pulled at her face, she was already enjoying herself as much as she didn’t want to admit it. But it was fun and to just be lighthearted and talk to someone who wanted to get to know her. “Hmm, I am sure we can start that tonight, because it seems we tend to talk with no filter. Because I am sure you will show me some line dancing you can do as well. So stop trying to deny you don’t want to show off your moves with me.” As much as Amelia wasn’t big into country music, she could learn to like it if it meant she watched Link do what he does best and that is line dance aside from surgery.
Amelia doesn’t know why, but she rarely talks about her brother. She rarely lets people know that side of her, but he was her big brother and she missed him. But no one understood that but it was nice to be able to voice some of that. “I am sure he wasn’t at the beginning. I was the letdown of the family. I was throwing my life away. Then I got my life together and it took Derek and I sometime to actually get to a point to actually stand one another. He was just reverting back to me being the letdown of the family. So I think towards the end he may have been proud, I know now he would be being I am sober, I am excelling at things even he hasn’t done and I have a great job.”
She was just glad Link decided he could open up to her. She didn’t know he had cancer either, and being he had bone cancer and now he works with bones, and same with Amelia having brain cancer. “How Ironic for the both of us right? You had bone cancer and now you’re an ortho surgeon, I had brain cancer and I am a neuro surgeon. God has a sense of humor doesn’t he?” She tried to play it off and she just couldn’t help but chuckle, but she was glad he opened up. “So you like country music, and you also like baseball? Or you just help the players? Because I feel like I keep learning more about you.”
She was glad, she wanted to get to know the man more and see just what else he liked. She knows she can talk a lot and now it was all about him and see just what he wanted to know about her and what she wanted to know about him. “Good thing because us being on this date, you might be in the rumor mill tomorrow and Owen might not like you so much with you being out with me. But as you said, I don’t care. I am me and I do what I want. And I wanted to be here with you tonight.”

The rumor mill was something that no one could escape when they worked here at Grey+Sloan. Amelia has heard everything about herself and everyone else. She had to admit, some of the stories she has heard about herself was funny, and wished it really happened. Others were just bizarre and she paid no attention to it. It was all a mess for the most part, and Amelia, well she was trying to avoid being apart of that conversation again. That was not what she wanted when she was at work, and working on major cases and coming to terms with what had happened the night before. Amelia has been through a lot so she lets everything roll off her shoulders, but she doesn’t admit it either. She doesn’t want to know anything else at this point.
She had lost her brother, and everyone gave her a look of sorry. She didn’t need that as she didn’t know what happened until she got to Seattle, and Meredith never called her. So that is where her problem was. She had whispers about her marriage to Owen, and her tumor made her do it, ands he was really just going to let it be that way and Amelia couldn’t do that. She was now thinking straight and she was going to allow things to get back to normal and let Owen find someone who can love him the way she couldn’t. But Link, he came along when she least expected it and it wasn’t a bad thing as she was in a better place and she was ready for all of this and ready to just be with someone who appreciates her.
So when Amelia aged to the date with Link, she wasn’t sure what she could wear, as it was just a small date and it was to get to know him. But she wasn’t in a hurry to find anything serious, it was all about fun and the night of passion with Link was fun and that is why she wanted to see just where it could go, and where she wanted it to go. She just wanted to be with him and see how it turns out because Amelia knew she needed to heal but being with someone who understands that, it might be better then trying to heal alone and no one being there. That is why she was there. But country music was something she didn’t think Link would like, but it was pretty interesting being she couldn’t even name a country song, but seems he knew a lot and she was interested to see what else he knew.
But she was curious about the country music as she wasn’t sure what to think but she was interested in knowing just what he thought about it. “So you’re telling me you can line dance as well? Well, damn, aren’t you just full of surprises and just really just do all these things and you mean to tell me no one at work knows either? What else can you do that I don’t know about? Or that anyone knows about?” She was curious and just wondering how she didn’t know where the line dancing came from, and she wanted to see him dance. “So maybe you can line dance for me soon? Just show me some of your moves.”
But she was now looking at the menu and really just trying to see what she wanted and for some reason, she has been talking about Derek more, only because she knows people except her to be like him and she was far from being him. “He is family, but sometimes he didn’t want to give me credit for getting clean, and being a better surgeon then him in some aspect of the career I have built without his help. I made a name for myself and he didn’t like that, so maybe that was all me, and maybe that was me just wanting to impress him, but I still miss him. But here I am, I am still doing what I love and just really going about everything.”
She was looking through the menu and seeing what she wanted and nodded her head and really just wanted to try it. “Then looks like that is what I am getting. I can’t go wrong with chicken and rice, so it will be good.” Smiling and taking in Link. “So tell me about you, since I seem to be talking a lot, and getting to let you know me and somethings you have heard about me, aren’t true, so just trust me on that.”

Amelia has been watched under a watchful eye for so long. Just because her past was shaky and people knew just what she had been through and what she did. But there was no denying she was talented and knew her stuff, and really knew more then her brother as this point being she was younger and she knew the newer technology and that meant really just being herself. But the whispers about her failed marriage was really getting to her. She wanted to forget everything, because she had a tumor and that meant she wasn’t thinking rationally when she got together with Owen and he deserved more then what she could give him if she was being honest. It wasn’t fair to him. So that is why the whispers weren’t great for her.
The tumor wasn’t great. She was a neuro surgeon who had a brain tumor. As if her life wasn’t bad enough, that is just where she was at with it all. She was trying to overcome everything she had to overcome and everyone was supportive but that meant being honest about everything else. Maybe doing surgeries with the tumor made her do irrational things but they all survived and that was a miracle in itself. But now she was trying to better herself, and better with what people see from her and what they think of her. But meeting someone so soon wasn’t in her agenda but she felt a pull towards Link and wanted to see just where it went and why there was a pull towards him.
Maybe it was because he didn’t look at her the way everyone else did, because he didn’t know her. He wasn’t there when everything else went on. But she was sure he heard a lot of things about her. But she does know people tried to hook him up with Meredith and that alone was just odd, but Amelia wasn’t holding that against him. Not that she could. They talked more then most, and getting to know each other and now that Amelia has been sober, that is what it feels like to get to know someone, and that lead to them going home together and ending up in bed. Not that she regretted it but she wasn’t in a place to be with someone, or so she thought for the most part. She thought she wasn’t ready, but Link, he made her feel good. A way she hasn’t felt in so long.
But one thing Amelia didn’t think was that Link would be into country music. Maybe that was just her thinking he couldn’t be that way but when she seen it and seen the music choice and then she couldn’t help but joke around. It lightened the mood with the fact they were going out tonight. “Oh trust me, I know you aren’t. Country music isn’t something I pegged you to like, but I guess I can’t judge a book by its cover huh? And you think I can handle a country bar? Really? You do some line dancing and all that? Or? You just sit there and admire all the cowgirls that walk by wanting you?” Her voice had a bit of a joke tone to it and she was having fun with this and having fun with him. This is how things should be with someone and someone who doesn’t judge someone and someone who just goes alone with it and not getting too offended by things she was saying.
But they got to the restaurant and Amelia thought she better stop and enjoy her night with him. Link was different and all in the good ways and she was interested in just where this was going and how good tonight could be for the two of them. But the place had soft music playing in the background and that meant they were just sitting there and this was her time to talk, knowing the rumors that were going around the hospital and he didn’t want him to think anymore less of her so that is why she let it be known about her brother and her in general so he understood her and why she does act the way she acts.
“Just I don’t know, I would have loved to be there, but Meredith didn’t tell me until after the fact. I had to drive my brother on my own without saying goodbye to him. He was an ass sometimes, but he was my brother and meant well. You know what I mean? So, it was hard but I can’t fault her for that. The old me would have done something about it and told her somethings, but me now, I just understand and just wished I was told sooner.” She was being honest and it was weird because she hasn’t told anyone this in so long. But here she was opening up to Link as if she had known him for a long time when she hasn’t. “You’re the only one who doesn’t care about the gossip through the hospital. So that makes this easier and me not having to plead my case to you in hopes you don’t take what they say to heart. That is the thing people don’t get from me. I am sarcastic most of the time but they don’t know how to take it.”
As she was talking she looked down at the menu not too sure what she wanted, but it all seemed good and she heard his choice and she wanted something more. “I am thinking the bacon burger and the onion rings maybe? Or the chicken breast and rice. I haven’t decided yet. But that pizza sounds good too. You’ve eaten here before?”
