I can’t see media coverage of billionaires launching themselves into space just for funsies without thinking about how horrible, how just... pure evil, you would have to be to think that you, personally, deserve to do whatever the fuck you want and have useless ultrabillionaire hobbies, no matter how stupid and wasteful, while people literally suffer and die from an ongoing pandemic and can’t afford healthcare, while children go hungry, while homelessness is on the rise and climate change is actively causing raging wildfires and floods and storms that are destroying people’s homes... If you can look at all of that and then look at your literal cartoonish pile of gold and think “I’m going to take myself to space”??? Fuck you

Do you ever think about how many of the items now considered priceless artifacts were once commonplace items? The coins we now marvel at from behind the glass at a museum were once tossed around, stepped on, and traded around. The pottery painstakingly pieced back together was somebody’s favorite wine jug. The decorative pin now rusted and bent once held together the shoulder of someone’s chiton. History is simply a trail of ordinary people going about their day, and I think there’s an odd sort of beauty in that.

I love dark academia fashion but it does seem to lean heavily on the beige and brown side. Where are my forest green coats? Sweaters the colour of blood and red lipstick? Dresses of yellow and gold like illuminated manuscripts? Shirts in dusky rose and lavender like pressed flowers between the pages of handwritten letters? Royal blues and navy? Crimson and burgundy? Pumpkin orange and fire orange and deep rust orange? Aquamarine and pine? Purple and indigo and violet like velvet nights? You don’t have to limit yourself to shades of brown when there’s every hue to choose from <3
