He is an interesting character whom i have many thoughts about.

He says hi

After watching Sonic Prime again i can't help but think about him and his mind.

I don't really think he is feeling really betrayed by Sonic anymore.

He probably feels a little betrayed because of his life history but the logical part of him knows something is up with Sonic travelling through the Shatterverse.

Till this moment they both seem to think that it has something to do with the shard, but Sonic didn't had it with him. So now he may know Sonic isn't in New Yoke (I'm assuming he knows Sonic isn't there because he is in the room with the council hence he probably heard Rusty's reports) and the shard isn't necessary for travelling (in Sonic's case only).

Plus Sonic's been pretty honest to him, open, nice and most importantly quick to give info, they both had the same understanding in how the travelling works and Sonic has been show to be surprised to some stuff that Nine discovered and showed him.

Also Sonic didn't outright rejected him he said "it's not going anywhere" that implies they can come back to that idea once they're done with the rebels. And with Nine captured he is making sure Sonic will be alive in the future, he is keeping both Sonic and himself alive.

I'm sure he has a plan for the future and Sonic is - probably - still in it.

I loved this scene from Sonic Prime SO MUCH (Well, I added my touch of course XD).

Even if Nine was bullied, beaten and lived a life where he had to only look after himself… even if his bond with Sonic was still fresh and he found Sonic kind of annoying, he still somehow felt that link that tied to him and wanted to create a new world just for the two of them.  (meanwhile Sonic misses his bro but wants Nine to be okay cause he is kinda… his bro too) Nine finally started to feel that love he was missing and the way he opened up in that scene was everything (even if it wasn’t the right choice). And even after Nine sends him back and probably feels like he lost what he didn’t know he needed, then he goes back and save Sonic…

Only to be (unwillingly) left in the enemy’s clutches. 

I really really look forwards to see how everythings sorts out. To be honest, I wish for the final antagonist to be Nine. Of course being redempted/saved, but still I think this is the perfect chance to explore the concept of Sonic vs Tails without making it unnatural and those “What if Tails and Sonic didn’t meet Aus”
