Prologue

A chair clattered loudly in the silence following Crowley's explained. All eyes turned to Leona whose hands were balled into fists at his sides. He ignored Crowley as he began praising Leona for his initiative as he stormed out of the office with a loud slam of the door, only one thing on his mind.

"How dare some ghost lay his hands on my herbivore."

"Let. Me. Out. Of. Here!" Yuu shouted, emphasizing each word with a slam of her fists on the locked door. She would have loved to kick the door down but the tight fitting dress the ghosts forced her into made it practically impossible to raise her leg high enough.

"When I get out of here I'm gonna murder Crowley." At least the ghosts didn't lock her window - of course they didn't, they put her in the highest room in the school like a goddamn princess - which allowed her to feel the evening breeze as she let out a frustrated sigh.

"Yuu!"

Looking down, her eyes widened when she saw Jack and Ruggie waving to her from the courtyard.

"Guys! Get me out of here!"

"We're trying!" Ruggie called back. Even from a distance she could see Ruggie grimacing. "But you're gonna have to trust us!"

The sudden sound of approaching ghosts sent her heartbeat racing as she looked between the locked door and the window.

"I trust you guys, just hurry up! They're coming!"

"You're going to have to jump!" Jack called as Ruggie warned him they had ghosts coming to check the commotion.

"Are you crazy?!"

"C'mon Yuu!" Ruggie cried as he took out his pen. "Didn't you say you trusted us?!"

"Get away from that window!"

Yuu gasped, looking back to see two ghosts have already reached her room and we're quickly approaching her. Cursing, she struggled to lift her legs over the window ledge and cried out to Jack and Ruggie just as she let herself slip off the ledge. For a moment she felt nothing but a sickening weightlessness before she was suddenly scooped out of the air and was being held in a tight grip against a solid chest.

"Stop screaming Herbivore, I got you," Leona growled as he pulled her onto his broom and forced her to sit side saddle with her body caged between his arms. She didn't even realize she had been screaming until he yelled at her but that just gave her a different reason to scream.

"Are you insane?! What if your royal ass missed me?! I swear Leona when I get out of this stupid dress I'm gonna kick your-!"

She couldn't finish her threat as Leona shut her up with a bruising kiss. She was so focused on yelling at him she didn't notice they already landed far away from the school.

"Keep it up and I'll give you something to actually scream about."

I Object!: Riddle

Prologue

Riddle stiffened at Crowley's explanation. Did he just say Yuu would die if she married the Ghost Prince?! The thought alone of her being forced to marry someone left a sour taste in his mouth but the addition that her soul would be taken made his blood boil as he stormed to the door.

"And where do you think you're going?" Leona called out, watching and Riddle opened the door. He didn't need Riddle to turn around to know his face was already red with anger.

"I'm going to stop this wedding."

"Oh? That's not against any of your precious rules?" Leona chuckled as Riddle froze. School rules explicitly stated in the event of a crisis, all housewardens would follow the instructions of the Headmage and staff. He pointedly ignored Leona as he silently watched Idia access the school cameras and quickly found the room where Yuu was locked up.

"Ace! Deuce! Jack! Epel! Anyone?! Get me out of here!" Yuu cried as she pounded on the locked door. A giggle behind her caused her to turn around and see a ghost slowly approaching her holding an eerily glowing tiara.

"Now now dear," the ghost said as it forced the tiara on her head. "It's time to prepare you for the young prince."

The screen cut out just as Yuu seemed to stiffen before suddenly fainting.

Riddle felt nothing but numb as he listened to Crowley ordered the group to distract the Ghost Prince while he called for her friends to stage a rescue. Every fiber of his being screamed he should help rescue Yuu but his body followed the other housewardens as they attempted to fight the Prince.

None of them expected the Ghost Prince to be so powerful as he was easily able to subdue every housewarden and Jamil and forced them to sit in the crowd of ghosts as wedding attendants, all except Riddle.

"Ah the ring bearer has arrived," the Ghost Prince said as a ghostly hand patted Riddle's head. "Run along now and prepare yourself for the ceremony. My beloved should be arriving soon."

"You-!" Riddle growled, feeling his anger rise as the captured housewardens braced for another tantrum. They were left confused when Riddle suddenly smiled, bowed to the prince and ran off, leaving them to talk amongst themselves if the Prince had taken control of the short tempered housewarden.

It wasn't long before Yuu's friends were captured and dragged into the ceremony as well as a ghostly band began to play and the doors to the cafeteria opened to reveal Yuu in a flowing princess style wedding dress and holding a bouquet of blood red roses. She seemed to be in a trance as she ignored the cries of her friends and began to slowly walk down the aisle. Before the Ghost Prince could touch her as she reached the altar, the doors to the cafeteria burst open as Riddle rode in on his horse Vorpal. He tore down the aisle and leapt between Yuu and the prince and summoned a ball of fire that hit the prince directly in the chest. The sudden attack seemed to break his hold on the students as they stood up and began to fight the furious ghosts.

"Housewarden! Get Yuu out of here!" Deuce cried, helping Riddle pull Yuu onto Vorpal as Ace knocked the tiara off her head.

"Wha-? Deuce? Ace? What's going- R-Riddle?!" Yuu's eyes widened when she realized she was sitting on the back of Riddle's horse as he looked back at her with a slight smirk.

"Hold on," he ordered and tugged the reigns to make Vorpal rear back and leap over the furious Ghost Prince. He could feel his cheeks warm as he felt Yuu wrap her arms around his waist as Vorpal charged down the aisle and out of the cafeteria. They rode far from the school until Riddle finally slowed Vorpal to a slow walk outside the gates of Ramshackle.

"So let me get this straight," Yuu said as Riddle helped her off his horse. "I almost got married to a ghost because the Headmaster thought there'd never be a girl in the school?"

"Unfortunately, yes," Riddle sighed, holding your hand as he led her back inside her dorm. "With how ghosts cling onto what they want, this may have just increased his visits from every few years to every year."

He stopped and looked back when he felt her squeeze his hand. The edges of her dress were singed and stained in ash and her hair was wild and windswept from the ride but there, under the light of the full moon, she looked more enchanting than he'd ever seen her before.

Through all the commotion and horse riding, the bouquet of roses was still clutched in her other hand.

"If that's the case, will I have to deal with this every year until graduation?" She asked, biting her bottom lip that shined with a coating of lipgloss. Riddle stepped closer, reaching out and taking the most beautiful of the roses from her bouquet and bringing it to his lips.

"If that should come to pass, I'll break every rule in the book to save you again and again until you're free."

He carefully slipped the rose into her hair and cupped her cheek, her hand reaching up to cover his as she smiled.

"Promise?"

Riddle smiled as he wrapped his arm around her waist.

"I swear it."

Somewhere a bell chimed as the clock midnight and their lips met in a gentle kiss.

i saw your requests were open and I was hoping you could make something of this thought I've had. I love the ghost bride event but would love to see how the overblot boys would react to seeing a female Yuu being chosen by a ghost groom because she's the only girl on campus.

Oh man that's a really good idea! Tbh I've been staring at this request for days now between other writing because I've got so many ideas I don't think I can make a short snippet for each guy!

So, I'm gonna use your ask as a prologue and I'll add each guy in their own separate post and list them at the bottom of this one as I complete them!

"Mrah! I hate this! Why do we have to stay up and study when we could be sleeping?!"

"Because I'm not in the mood to fail Trien's history test?"

Grim huffed and looked back down at Yuu's notes as she let out a yawn and stretched, checking the clock on the mantle to see it was almost 8pm.

"I guess studying would be pointless if we're too exhausted to take the test."

Before she could tell Grim he could go to bed, a voice right behind her spoke up at the same moment she felt an unnaturally cold hand on her shoulder.

"At last, I've found you, my beloved."

"HELP!" Grim screeched as he tore through the campus. His cries echoed through the empty halls as he reached Crowley's office and burst inside. He almost cried in relief when he saw not only was Crowley in his office but so was most of the housewardens.

"Oh my," Crowley said as he eyed Grim. "What seems to be the trouble?"

"Yuu... ghost... trouble!" Grim tried to explain between breaths but it only seemed to confuse the group further.

"Ghosts? Have you forgotten your dorm is filled with ghosts? That hardly seems to be something to be upset about." Crowley gestured for Grim to shoo while Riddle frowned.

"Didn't he also mention Yuu? Are any of the ghosts hostile to humans Headmage?"

"Absolutely not!" Crowley sounded appalled at the question as he stood up from his seat. "Ramshackle has been home to various spirits over the years but I'd never allow one to reside on campus that could hurt any of my students!"

"But he took Yuu!" Grim cried, climbing onto the desk and gesturing wildly. "He suddenly appeared and grabbed Yuu and called her his beloved!"

"That sounds like it might relate to our sudden ghost problems," Vil spoke up with a frown. "There's been a surge of unknown ghosts that have taken over the cafeteria and classrooms that have been talking about preparing for a wedding."

"Oh, is that what this is about? That just sounds like the Ghost Prince." Crowley sat back down and leaned back in his chair. "He comes around every few years and prepares for a wedding that will never happen. Just let the ghosts continue with the preparations and when a bride doesn't walk down the aisle by midnight, he'll go away."

"Headmage," Jamil said as he crossed his arms. "Is there a reason why the Ghost Prince always comes back?"

"Well, according to the legends, he was killed long ago on the night of his wedding while waiting for his bride to walk down the aisle. Because of this, his spirit returns to wait for his bride to finally meet him at the altar. Of course since this is a boys school, he'll never find a bride so there's nothing to worry about."

There was an uncomfortable silence in the office until Crowley suddenly shot out of his chair with a cry.

"YUU HAS BEEN TAKEN BY THE GHOST PRINCE?!"

"What's the big deal?" Leona asked, still grumpy from being woken up from the recent commotion. "Can't the herbivore just walk down the aisle and the ghost will leave?"

"I'm afraid not," Crowley replied, his tone suddenly serious. "The prince has searched for his bride for hundreds of years. If Yuu walks down that aisle, her soul will be taken and she'll become his eternal bride."

Floyd x Yuu: Wake Up and Smell The Roses

After Floyd's little trick that got her to confess she actually liked having Floyd around, things have mostly returned to normal.

Emphasis on mostly.

Lately Yuu has found herself replaying that day over and over in her mind. Every time he hugged her, she thought about how it wasn't as tight as the one from that day. When he'd call her by her nickname, the tone of his voice when he called her his would echo in her mind. It was becoming harder not to think about his kiss on her nose whenever his face was close to hers.

Even just thinking about it had her feeling like her nose was being kissed again.

No wait, that felt more like a paw smacking her nose.

"Miss Yuu."

"Crap."

She looked up to see Trien frowning down at her, Lucius giving almost a similar face as his owner as he batted her nose one more time from his spot in Trien's arms.

"If you're quite done daydreaming, I'll ask you again to answer the question on the board."

"Y-Yes sir."

She could feel multiple eyes on her as she walked up to the board and wrote down the answer. When she turned around she could see Ace, Deuce and Grim looking at her with a mix of confusion and concern. She tried to wipe away their concern with a smile but it proved ineffective when she was promptly cornered in the hallways after class by the trio.

"Alright, out with it," Ace said, arms crossed as he eyed Yuu. "You've been spacing out a lot lately. What's going on?"

"Yeah!" Grim added from his spot hanging onto Deuce's shoulder. "How are we supposed to pass our class if you're spacing out?!"

"You could probably start studying yourself..." Deuce replied while Yuu reassured them she was fine; she just had a lot on her mind with schoolwork and some other things. Her answer didn't seem to satisfy Ace as he thought out loud.

"Come to think of it, you've been spacey ever since your last visit to Mostro Lounge. You didn't eat one of Jade's mushroom dishes again, did you?"

At the mention of the longue her face grew warm as she once again remembered that day. Immediately she said nothing happened with Floyd when she was at the longue. She knew right away she messed up when she felt her nose begin to grow as the three stared in confusion, Deuce mentioning none of them even said Floyd's name until she did. Her blush only darkened as she denied any connection between Floyd and her spacing out. To everyone's surprise, not only did her nose grow again but it sprouted a tiny branch with a few leaves and a budding rose.

"Whoa! What happened?!" Ace cried, jumping back slightly so he wasn't hit by the flower. She had no clue what was happening with her nose, she was just glad it seemed to take their attention away from her mention of Floyd. In the commotion of her sudden flowery addition none of them noticed Riddle approaching until he was standing by Ace.

"Ace, Deuce, there you are. Don't forget about your potions assignment due... What's going on?"

Grim let out a yelp as her nose smacked him off Deuce's shoulder when she turned to see Riddle looking at her with wide eyes. She braced herself for another scolding for lying like he'd usually do when he saw her curse in effect but he surprised her by simply examining the rose on her nose and mentioning his interest in learning more about her curse.

After the first incident with the rose sprouting on her nose, Yuu was extra careful about telling a lie. It helped that Floyd seemed to be taking a break from his lying game in favor of making her chase after him after stealing an item of hers – his favorite item seemed to be the ribbon she wore around her neck that matched Grim's that she got as a gift for her birthday. It was after one of her usual chases that she stopped by Heartslabyul after getting a message from Riddle to meet him at his dorm. She found Riddle in the common room with a large stack of books and papers neatly across the table.

"Sorry I'm late, I had to shake off an eel."

Riddle looked up with a raised eyebrow but didn't comment as he picked up a book filled with color coded bookmarks.

"I've been scouring the library for any mentions of your curse and found a few interesting facts. It seems like a long time ago, a mage in Fleur City once used magic to bring to life a puppet. While the puppet lived, it was "born" with a curse that caused his nose to grow with every lie. Since he was wooden, when his nose would grow it would begin sprouting like a tree the longer it grew; I even found an account from the original mage that told of a time when his "son" refused to tell the truth and a bird ended up making a nest on his nose."

"Okay so why is my nose suddenly sprouting?" Yuu asked, looking at the sketch of the puppet boy in the book Riddle showed her. "Last time I checked, I wasn't made of wood."

"Correct and roses come from a shrubbery, not a tree so my theory is the curse has changed. It could be affected by your own thoughts. What exactly were you thinking about when the rose appeared?"

Her mind immediately went to Floyd as she fought to repress a blush. She quickly lied and said she was just thinking about an upcoming test she didn't study for and winced when the rose immediately reappeared. Riddle frowned and crossed his arms, a sure sign he was about to go into Disappointed Housewarden Mode as he asked her if she was sure. With a sudden flare of frustration, Yuu slammed her hands on the table as she let out a loud cry.

"Yes because there's no way I could have feelings for someone like Floyd!"

Her eyes shot open as she heard Riddle cry out and saw her nose had almost doubled and created a small bushel of roses at the end that caused Riddle to trip over his own feet as he stumbled backwards from the sudden growth. For a moment everything was silent before Riddle finally broke it with an awkward cough.

"Well, it seems the curse is actually more emotions based than just simple thought."

He gently placed a hand on her shoulder and urged her to sit down. Yuu sighed and ran a hand through her hair, the knot in her stomach only seeming to tighten after her sudden outburst.

"You know, Floyd may be frustrating to no end but there's nothing wrong with having feelings for him," Riddle said, sliding her a cup of tea.

"I just don't understand how? Outside of him annoying me, we barely talk or interact. How could I have developed feelings from constant teasing and practically bullying?"

"Do you really see it as bullying?"

Her mind screamed yes but her heart couldn't agree. Maybe in the beginning it could have been seen as bullying but the more time she spent with Floyd, the more she realized it was just part of Floyd's charm, he just enjoyed riling people up and she just happened to be very receptive to his jabs. With a sigh, she confessed she didn't as she told him about Floyd's recent trick and how she felt after they returned to their usual routine. Riddle smiled softly as he watched her nose slowly return to normal with each confession.

"I'm not saying you should just go confess right off the bat but I'd recommend not repressing them so violently. Who knows, maybe Floyd's little annoyances is his twisted way of showing his own interests."

"I guess, just wish he'd stop stealing my ribbon, it gets annoying having to tie it again each time." She had to admit, she felt a lot better after their talk as she stood up to collect her books. Riddle raised an eyebrow as his eyes locked into the ribbon around her neck.

"Wasn't that the ribbon that was on Jade's present to you that Floyd joked was from him because he got bored looking for a present?"

She didn't answer as she quickly left the dorm. He wasn't wrong, Floyd was the one who tied it around her neck and joked about her being her own gift. Come to think of it, it wasn't long after her birthday that Floyd's teasing seemed to double and caused her to see him almost everyday. She tried not to think too hard about it as she stepped out of the mirror chamber to find Floyd leaning against the wall. His grin seemed to widen when he saw her and she immediately braced for another hug.

"There you are Swordfishie~ what took you so long visiting Goldfish?"

Floyd grinned as she said she was seeing Riddle behind his back and cursing when her nose grew due to her sarcastic comment. He simply cackled as he began to drag her to their next class that they shared. While he could still hear her complaining, from the corner of his eye he could see her smiling as he felt her tighten her grip on his hand as she tried to keep up with him.

Hiii! I'm loving your Rook fic and got curious. How would the dorm leaders react to a reader that loves musicals?

So you mean me because I can't go a day without listening to at least one musical soundtrack lol

Riddle- He hadn't seen many musicals growing up so he'd listen with interest as you describe some of your favorite ones. If the school ever puts on a play, you're the first to insist he auditions with you which he'll agree to until someone suggests he auditions for the role of a kid character. Even if he doesn't get picked, the rose garden is always available for you to practice in. He'll gladly help you with practicing with your lines, just don't mention the blush on his cheeks when he realizes he's reading the lines of your character's love interest.

Leona- He may look like he could care less when you start going on and on about the musicals of your world and how similar some of them are to ones in his but whenever you ask him a question he'll know exactly what you're talking about and have a reply ready followed by a "now let me sleep". When he hears about you getting a part in the school's own play, he'll mention you can use his usual napping spot as a place to practice to "get away from those other loudmouths". You hear later from Ruggie after the show was completed that he saw Leona in the audience at every performance. Of course if you ask Leona directly he'll say he had better things to do than waste his time seeing the same show more than once. He'll have no response if you find the copies of his tickets in his room one day.

Azul- Of course he can understand your love of musicals after growing up always hearing about the Mermaid Princess's lovely voice. Of course that's not gonna stop him from offering you to work at the longue as a singer so you can sing all the songs you want. When he hears about the school putting on their own play and you got a part, he suggests using the lounge after closing as a place to practice. You quickly notice he always seems to force Floyd and Jade to leave whenever you want to practice. Whether it's so you can practice in peace or he wants to be the only one to watch like it's his own private show, you may never know.

Kalim- You like shows that involve a lot of singing and dancing? That sounds wonderful! Kalim would be the most excited out of all the dorm leaders to hear all about your love of musicals. He'll happily try to learn any songs or dances you show him and would be the one to suggest you both audition when the school does their own play. If he's able to get a part in the show, Jamil will be grateful for the few hours of peace since Kalim would be too occupied practicing with you to cause trouble. He'll regret it later when Kalim insists on a grand after-party after almost every performance before Jamil finally convinces him that's too much.

Vil- As the leader of the Film Appreciation Club and an actor he's your go-to for which musical to movie adaptations are the best. You've been invited more than once to the club as an expert on the finer details of live musical theater versus watching a recorded performance. When the school plans its own play, he takes it upon himself to be not only your practice partner but your personal make-up artist. Even if you didn't get the lead role, he made sure you were given the lead role treatment with a bouquet of flowers after your final performance.

Idia- While he'd rather give away all his limited edition characters in his favorite gacha game than go to one, he'd never say anything bad about your love of musicals. The closest he can relate to them are his music themed anime but he recently caught himself humming one of the songs you've been singing recently while doing his dailies. He'll be rooting for you when you tell him you got a main part in the school play but he always ends up stuttering if you ask him to help you practice your lines. You may feel disappointed when you don't see him in the audience on opening night but on the final night, you can faintly see the familiar glow of his hair in the furthest corner of the room.

Malleus- This man is 1000% invested in hearing about your interests. You have his undivided attention when you're in the mood to tell him about a musical you just watched or you suddenly burst into song. You can see he's disappointed when he finds out he missed the chance to join the school play but his mood immediately brightens when you promise to invite him to the opening night performance. He's there almost an hour early to make sure he doesn't miss it.
