Rising China from Drew Geraci (District 7 Media) on Vimeo.
District7media.net Our first trip to China was an eye opener. The sights, the sounds, the smells, all new to us. We traveled more than 10,000 miles to end up in the remote city of Lanzhou - an industrial mecca surrounded by ancient beauty. The city is a bustling metropolis that caters to more than a 2 million and it was our goal to showcase it like never before... from above.
Utilizing drone technology, we traveled hours outside of the city to capture remote villages, climbed the highest mountain range to reveal the massive size of the city and toured sacred temples that had never been filmed like this before. Our 20 day trip wasn't without challenges. It rained more than 60% of the time, which made operating our drone a difficult task. We managed to move around the weather to capture as much footage as we could before the journey ended and managed to capture some incredible sights in the process.
The people of China were incredibly floored to see this type of technology being used in their city. It was odd enough to see 2 white guys from the states in a city that rarely has foreign tourists but to see a quad copter flying above the city and historical sites really drew their attention. Their hospitality and kindness made for a very fulfilling trip.
We will return to China with out a doubt.

Upon returning to the states we discovered the incredible talent of the Indian Jam Project, a music group from India, which covers movies themes/scores and replays them with a delightful twist. Their latest creation, which covers Han Zimmer's, "First Step" and "Stay", captivated us and really conveyed a sense of peace and wonderment. The adaptations are arranged and composed by Tushar Lall. Slacker from Red Bull on Vimeo.
Pushing limits is nothing new. That’s precisely how performance levels trend skyward. But what if we told you there was a place, deep in the deserts of Utah, where the lines of progressive sports blur while simultaneously apexing to new, unfathomable realities of what’s possible?
Enter G.G.B.Y. (Gobble, Gobble, Bitches, Yeah). The informal, annual gathering at the aptly named Fruit Bowl, outside Moab, organically draws envelope-pushers of all shapes, sizes and disciplines. Event co-founder Terry Acomb takes us through his role in the slacklining/highlining community and gives us a look at the people who make GGBY so incredible.

WHEN THE MOUNTAINS WERE WILD - A freeride journey to the Albanian Alps from Whiteroom Productions on Vimeo.
Mitch Tölderer and Whiteroom Productions present `When the mountains were wild´ Winner of the Jones Adventure Grand 2015 & Winner of Mountainfilm Graz Kamera Alpin in Gold for best Austrian movie.
On the search for mountain wilderness in Europe a crew of five snowboarders/skiers/filmmakers drove down from Austria through several Balkan countries and witnessed the debris of the Yugoslavian war for the first time. Their destination was the incredibly beautiful and wild Valbona Valley where time had seemed to stand still for a long time. After studying vague maps, checking weather conditions they found themselves on a 25km hike to a promising looking zone in the heart of these mountains and came to a stop in a little abandoned shepherd hut. Six days of heavy snowstorm later the crew woke up in Freeride heaven and enjoyed a well-earned magic day in the snow. Watch the movie and see what more craziness our team faced on this wonderful journey.
Freeriding off the beaten tracks!

The Lofoten Islands from Nick Kontostavlakis on Vimeo.
----- Please watch in full screen with sound on for best experience. This film is available in 4K - click the HD button and select 4K to view in 4K. Enjoy! ----- Μy last trip to Norway during February, 2017. The Lofoten Archipelago is spread on the northwest side of Norway, very close to the borders of the Arctic Circle. It is a cluster of small fishing villages and is often called “the Foot of the lynx” because of its shape. The islands are full of legends, maybe because of their natural beauty and their mysterious landscapes, or maybe because there the Sun either never rises or never sets. The only thing you can hear is the thousand voices of birds, the wind and the sound of the sea. That combination of the landscape which comes into view every morning and the sounds of nature is a priceless experience that fills you with energy and inspiration for the whole day, no matter what you have to face. ----- Music by Ryan Taubert - One Precious Moment ----- Assistant Cinematographer - Aris Christou ----- Shot with DJI Phantom 4 Pro and Sony a7rii + Zeiss fe 16-35 ----- Photos taken during this trip. nickkontostavlakis.com/lofoten.html ----- You can follow me at: Facebook - facebook.com/nickkontostavlakispage Instagram - instagram.com/nikopgsp Website - nickkontostavlakis.com Google + - plus.google.com/u/0/102206608476266130067
