Not a Chian anti not a Chian defender but a secret third thing (he is an immensely lonely young man desperate for genuine attention and affection. In every scene outside of his date with Fou4Mod it’s emphasized how much of an outsider he is, even when he’s with his so-called friend at the ttrpg shop or when he’s on something as crowded as the train or when he’s leaving class to see the snack vendors. Fou4Mod is always with his gaggle of friends and Bua doesn’t greet him— he stands with Moo and waits for Chian to look for him. His own parents plan to extend their visa and only call their son for a few minutes. He uses the close friends setting to manipulate who and how people [read: Bua and Fou4Mod] view him in relation to themselves. He’s so… teenage. He’s so alone.)
