I just feel so divorced from feminism and I fully understand why other women of color and trans women fully give up on it bc every mainstream discussion on it I see is first off all so centered on first world problems and even more ridiculous it is all about "choice" "I choose to get plastic surgery" "I choose to wear make up" "I choose to do sex work" and all those "choices" are supposed to be empowering somehow as if they are fully free choices and not deeply influence by the patriarchal society we live in not only is it exhausting but it becomes mind numbing to see WOMEN defending that shit what are we doing? And it is not a matter of blaming women who do that but you at least have to be aware of why you are doing it imo

And what really kills me is if you try to bring any of this up people get insanely defensive and even call you a fascist or tell you you are slut shaming. Where do we ge from here if people are fully refusing to analyze or even think for a second about the power structures that influence their "choices"? Why is being "sexually liberated" the peak of women's liberation and why it is like the only "feminist" thing that is accepted in mainstream? Like let's fucking think for a second omg
