I just. I don’t like this view of “millennials vs Gen Z”. This is NOT supposed to be a competition of who got fucked over the most and who’s “actually fighting back”.

Millennials are fighting back just by surviving in a job market where the minimum wage doesn’t cover the living cost. Millennials are awesome at “killing” the diamond, golfing and napkins industries. Millennials are using the internet to make sure things that corporations want to keep in the dark are exposed. They’re open LGBTQIA-friendly business, they’re supporting each other with online donations so everyone can survive this shitty economy.

And the Gen Z kids? The Gen Z kids are rad. I remember a post about something like the millennials making a collective promise to never become a disenchanted generation that only criticizes the next one and I want to point out that this “millennials vs gen z” trend is trying to do exactly that: split us apart. Prevent millennials from being the older siblings that teach the younger siblings to throw a good punch and turn them into the annoyed adult complaining about “those kids” on their lawn. We are the two groups that grew in a connected world of information. We are two very unique generations.

I think that it’s our duty for us millennials, as a disrespected, underpaid, very angry generation to stand up by our younger siblings, and fight together the oppressive systems that brought us all to this point.

I think that way too many people both on this site and off of it are ridiculously quick to start playing misery olympics against each other when it comes to pride. A lot of us have experienced pain and discrimination based on our sexuality due to the ignorance or cruelty of others, and invalidating the experiences of others is a mean and unproductive way of dealing with it.

Me having to sit with a blank face through dinner hearing my family talk about how homosexuals, bisexuals and asexuals are errors of nature, and they have to accept their fates as errors and stop asking for acceptance and respect, they need to stop normalizing their “condition”.

So I'm not afraid of being rather flirty with people (I don't really care about gender), and masturbating, but I don't feel any sexual attraction for anyone. I'd think "Wow, you're pretty! I'd like to hang out with you as friends." but that's as far as I'll go. I wouldn't even want to kiss people, really. This makes me feel bad that I'm not a real ace, and that somehow I have failed my "aceness", that I'm "fake ace". Please help me unmuddle my mind.

Zero to limited sexual attraction is the defining feature, you shouldn’t feel bad or try to prove yourself to others. You are ace. Allow yourself to be so without scolding yourself for your behavior.

Okay so like there are vampires but one of the side effects of becoming a vampire is that you can’t explicitly tell people you’re a vampire.

Like, if they already know you’re a vampire, that’s cool and you can talk about it with them whenever.  And if they don’t know but are straight up like “hey are you a vampire?” you can be like “yes I am” and then you can talk to them about being a vampire because they already know now.

But the point is you can’t tell people.

So you’ve got this vampire who really wants to tell their friends and they’re dropping all these hints and being as obvious as they possibly can be but their friends just think they over-exaggerate everything.

“Hey, when did you learn to lock pick?”  “Sometime around the middle ages, I think.”  “Okay, fine, I won’t pry then.”
