Thoughts on suicide
The loss of spirituality and religion may be why suicide is so high right now. Decades and centuries ago, God was what tethered people to the earth and guided their lives, the purpose was perscribed since birth. Now, the impossible burden of figuring out one’s own purpose is up to most in our atheistic west, and sadly, when people think they can not figure this out, they tend to off themselves. Nowadays, I think the terrifying horizon of what to do with the little time I truly have been allotted in eternity may be more of an adventure then a curse or just another drudge. Life has so many damn colors.
P.S. There are obviously many other causes for suicide in the world such as schizophrenia, mental illness, and trauma. But on a whole, it seems people here in the west have lost their will to live. Pessimism has truly rotted the globe, and this rot has been at its game for a while now. I think we have been getting choked out for quite some time now. Emotions are miniaturized, passion is discarded, and human life has become a 9-5 to many people. Live with some passion bitches. I thank whatever is out there for the privilges I have in my life to be able to pursue what I love (music), but I hope that everyone can still find the passion they need for their own lives. Life is full of so many damn colors, but it seems that the smog of the factory has been blocking them for some time.
