Title: Wooden Door of the Stave church at Urnes, Norway Date: 1050-1070 Importance: This beautiful ornate wooden door demonstrates that by the 11th century Scandinavia had become a christian society but some viking traditions remained such as the intertwining animals and forest in this church door. The strikingly refined abstract organic forms and sense of rhythm in most of the viking weaving designs is apparent.

Fjord’s quest by Cyril Blanchard Website | Facebook page
Norway is a fjord paradise. This picture has been shot on the road to eidfjord city which is in the Hordaland area. It was raining on the road and snowing on the top of the cliffs which is giving this such particular mood in the picture. http://flic.kr/p/FmfqQK
