    your hands shake under the tap. you're freezing now, ice cold water washing away the slick warmth.

    the red circles around the sink. liquid is rising quicker than it can drain. it's all you can look at as it goes down, down, down.

    you know she's behind you. can still feel her touch on your cheek. you can't look, not yet. not again. you have to stay focused.

    your fingernails are stained so you dig, dig, dig at them. they feel raw by the time you're done, like they could peel off with little effort.
