For this joint assignment, Tyler and I presented the significance of the 1940s. First, we simply stated a lot of the important events that occurred in the decade. Then, we went into depth for social and political happenings, important people, and developments in science and technology. Tyler put his sarcastic and interesting twist on much of the information displayed, and the both of us put our minds together to create the entirety of the assignment using a number of sources.

City Council Meeting Proof:

I attended a Vacaville city council meeting for American Government. I felt it was important to be informed about the decisions that our city government was making, and I was even happier to attend when a controversial issue such as marijuana was to be discussed.

As I stated in the paper above, I found the issue most interesting because the argument seemed to be that the anti-growing ordinance should have been passed because of both its unpleasant smell as well as fire and electrical hazard when grown in large amounts. This, of course, was supposed to only affect those that are medical marijuana patients, since recreational marijuana is still illegal on both the state and federal levels. The argument was not, in the least bit, strong. In fact, the point was quite counterproductive. A large majority, if not all, of the growers that were growing marijuana in large amounts and posing a threat or inconvenience to the community were in fact illegal growers. They had no license to grow at all. Therefore, if these people are already breaking both federal and state laws by growing marijuana, they aren’t likely to obey a Vacaville law that states that no one can grow marijuana at all, medical or otherwise. Therefore, only those that are abiding by the law and have a medical need for marijuana would be affected.

Furthermore, I felt that the city of Vacaville should have been in contact with Solano County to clarify whether or not one medical marijuana patient was allowed to grow for others. I believe that no ordinance should be implemented in Vacaville when there is already a faulty or otherwise unclear one at the county level concerning the same issue. Rather, the city of Vacaville should have been requesting for Solano County to edit their law to be more specific. If they wanted to eliminate medical marijuana being grown in larger quantities than six per household, they would have to tell Solano to change their law, not create an entirely new one that would do no good and harm those that abide by the rules.

Above are some assignments for my Economics class in which I had to calculate real dollar value of minimum wage, so I would know what my time was worth no matter which state or region to which I moved. The second worksheet is used to calculate interest rates so I can form an appropriate plan whenever I will need to take out a loan.

Personal Selections - Sample #1

In my junior year, I was awarded with honorific mention for the National Spanish Exam. I scored higher than 55% of all of the students in the country that took the exam as well. In celebration, a luncheon was held for all of the kids that scored well. For emphasis, Mexican and Spanish food and cupcakes were served, and all of us had our fill of the delicious food. The students that scored higher than 50% of the nation were given bronze, silver-, and gold-plated medals.

Also, in my junior year of high school, I participated in the Campus Star competition for The Reporter. I decided to do a feature writing article on Encounter Generation Conference, or EGCO, at The Father’s House. I felt it was the perfect way for this amazing conference to obtain a little more publicity. I was pleasantly surprised when I was informed that I had won second place in the high school division. Down below are both the award that I was handed and the article that was used to win said certificate.
