It's no real surprise Lightning still fails to tear down those walls — despite lessons learned throughout their journey , Fang has no doubt Lightning fears far more than she'd ever dare convey to the others . With all of their lives hanging on the line , friendship gained only to be lost in the end is intimidating enough . But affection ? The chance of a love she had not yet known , that only sister seemed innocent enough to believe in ?

It sounds ridiculous to consider intimacy may blossom amongst this chaos . And , in truth , much of Fang's original remarks were only intended to tease — poke & prod to see what would make that stoic image break . She hadn't expected that every chip at that hardened shell would serve to fascinate her , build upon the admiration and respect she had already regarded Lightning with .

She can't help but laugh , something she's certain only adds to that irritation Lightning pouts 'round with . ' Doubt it . They were all pretty spent — don't even think Vanille could keep her eyes open if she wanted to , and that girl's got more energy than all of us combined . '

Her dismissal comes so quickly , she had almost brushed over the word . Fawning . It's an admission Lightning hadn't entirely voiced , with most of her interest conveyed through actions . Fang's expression softens from the smug stare she'd held prior , smirk falling 'fore she nods & gently pushes self away from the wall . ' Yeah . Who knows what they'd all say if they heard that come out of ya . '

         Such feelings are a luxury none should hold on to - not when those who seek to    CONTAIN    &.    DESTROY    are hot on their trails. However, soldier finds herself slipping;  that cold act  breaking through cracks in a steel exterior. Acts of romance    &.    affections weren't something she ever needed, not when taking care of what family's left have been at stake. Perhaps this is why she grew to hate someone like  him,  taking away what was hers. Disrupting the peace between two sisters, it was always    THEM    against the world    ...    How hypocritical Lightning's become. Gloved fingers come to cover maw;  massaging cheeks to due away with a  forbidden smile  forming from curled lips. Brows crease, as they do, in attempt at showcasing    ANNOYANCE.

         ❛ ❛  They might not be    ...    have to keep our guards up, Fang. They're gonna catch us, probably ridicule me for being such a sap - I'm supposed to be  focused.    &.    yet?  I'm here, fawning over  you  in the shadows     ...    Sorry. I'm just stressed.  ❜ ❜         Crystalized eyes bring themselves to look at the dragoon; dim lit room reflecting off hues, causing them to shine    &.    mimic that of something nocturnal. Lightning  does  feel regret in her words, as if    ASHAMED    to have fallen in love with someone. A conflict of emotions    &.    duties clash with one another. It's embarrassing, unable to pinpoint just exactly  how  she's supposed to react. How to treat her partner.

         This is her first real go around with a situation like this    ...    The only thing she  is  sure of, is that those feelings are there. Despite it all.

002. I'm a full-time online student & have to spend a lot of my time with other personal tasks, I try to pop in when I have some free time! 004. My triggers: r/pe / sexual assault / csa / domestic abuse / child abuse & cancer. I have really bad ocd, and these topics tend to make it spike due to past traumas! I mainly ask for it to be tagged, and I will not cover topics on my blog that relate to my triggers. I will block if I see it untagged or not somehow hidden, ie using a read more - PLEASE use basic tag formatting to tag triggers, as it's really difficult to blacklist if the trigger is formatted in any uncommon way. Any trigger that may come up in my writing will be tagged as "tw trigger //" & "tw trigger" ; please let me know if I miss anything that you need tagged!!

& It's so easy to tell how flustered she is — that bite tends to come out when she's grown embarrassed , bashful in the face of the playful confidence Fang carries . The tint of pink on Light's cheeks prompts a sly smile , a quirked brow challenging Lightning's protests .

' And where's the fun in that ? ' Her form slouches against the wall , curled knuckle falling to rest against hip . ' What's wrong , Light ? Getting under your skin ? You can drop the cold act , y'know . Everyone else is asleep . '
